    That's what fishing is all about having a great day out fishing and taking one or two for the table. It was nice to see some fish go back. Well done mate. 👍

    Thankyou for sharing this information. I followed your advice and used a similar kind of set up with the firetail jelly worm and managed 15 pollack off Beara peninsula in Ireland last week. Most were around 1.5 kilo, one or two about 0.5 kilo and two at three kilos, fished over a two day period at same location. Again many thanks. Jean

    Nice to see someone catch fair sized fish like that from the shore!
    I've started using soft plastics with a small jig head recently but not much luck at the moment as I don't really know the areas around here that well for best feeding time or tide etc. Do you use braid as your main line? I've been told that this can enhance the bite sensation so I'm going to also give that a go.
    Tight Lines matey.

    been trying this a lot lately in northwest scotland with the firetails and rigs like this over kelp at flooding tides and just not getting very much, i let them sink and reel them in steady at slow/medium speed, i seem to have better luck with lighter toby's and wedge lures, though my best fish lately was on a green jelly worm with a glow in the dark green bead and small ball leger infront by the hook. anyway not sure if im doing something wrong with the firetail + weight rigs, bad luck or just the fish dont come to those marks any more.

    hello, nice fishing...
    i wanted to ask about the method of ur fishing with the weight u put before lure .
    my question is ,
    after u cast, u wait until the weight sink deeply?,i mean until the ground of the water and then starting to reel ?
    or u just cast and wait ?
    thanks alot

    hi there! I`m living for the moment in Scilly Islands, a very good place for pollock fishing. Unfortunately I don`t have any equipment with me, and I`m new in sea fishing. What kind of gear should I buy? Reels, rods, lures, line, etc?. Thank you and do more videos :)

    • @ostriez1
      @ostriez1  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will need a longer rod. Mine was shimano catana 3,3m long with casting weight up to 40grams. Reel no 40-50 and I used braided line 0,32mm

    Pekne,stale hladam po NI taketo miesto mam par ale stale mam stastie len na taketo mensie kusky ako je vidiet vo videu :( mozes mi prosimta poradit kde by som nasiel taketo miesto ? Bol by som ti velmi vdacny hehe :)

    • @ostriez1
      @ostriez1  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      dathremar1 V Nl takéto miesta ťažko nájdeš.Tam je to pobrežie úplne iné ako v Írsku.Ak by si bol v Írsku na yápadnom pobreží, viem Ti poradiť super miesta...

    • @dathremar1
      @dathremar1 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ou prepac neviem preco som si myslel ze to je zo severneho irska hehe ja som z antrimu :( je tu vela miest ale stale mam stastie len na take max 50cm... Zda sa mi ako keby tie vacsie kusky putovali hlbsie do oceanu a ja ich nemam sancu zo skal vytiahnut...

    • @ostriez1
      @ostriez1  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      dathremar1 Prepáč, myslel som, že hovoríš o Holandsku(nl)...V severnom by to malo byť tiež super.Len musíš trafiť miesto...Tiež som dlho hľadal, kým som našiel tie pravé...Domáci ti ťažko poradia...Mne sa z brehu podaril najväčší 87cm.Na tie ešte väčšie treba íst na lodku.A kedy chytáš?Odliv, či príliv?

    • @dathremar1
      @dathremar1 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      No domaci chodia hlavne na take miesta kde najradsej by z auta mohli chytat :D mam nafukovaci rybarsky cln pre 5 osoby dost velky ,ale nejak nemam odvahu vyplavat stym na ocean :D mozno to raz skusim pri kludnom pocasi... Velmi hlboko treba ist s lodkou aby som narazil na vacsie kusky ? Hmm vies ze nato som sa nikdy nezameral...:O chodim vacsinou od 16:00 do 23:00 alebo od 22:00 do 03:00 niekedy je hladina taka a niekedy taka :D neviem kedy je lepsie a ako by som zistil kedy je priliv kedy odliv... Mas nejaky typ ? :)

    • @ostriez1
      @ostriez1  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pollocky chytíš tak 2hodiny pred a max 2 hodiny po prílive. Spolu máš na rybačku max 4 hodiny, ale treba si to odsledovať. Na niektoré miesta chodia skôr na niektoré neskôr. Pozri si Tide table calendar v okolí tvojho miesta a budeš vedieť, kedy máš ísť na ryby. Naopak počas odlivu, tiež to platí 2hod pred a 2hod po, sa dajú chytať sea bassy na plážach, alebo zálivoch, takisto flounder.
      Mimo prílivu a odlivu ťažko niečo chytíš...
