i have this game on the switch and thats honestly what you have to do to avoid hours upon hours of tedium the problem is that all the duels in the anime are using unique decks built to a) counter each other perfectly and b) play out a very specific way. combining those decks with actual random draw on the player end and (seemingly) weighting specific draws for the ai to try to keep it challenging is just a recipe for endless frustration
@@ultimakewl I also have the game, and I really enjoyed at least trying to beat the story with the story decks: to me, that was where the challenge was. I did switch to a personal deck after a couple of goes at each level if I kept losing.
you: "hecka overpowered compared to the anime characters" Dan: *makes an atrociously bad deck* *gets an 8-loss streak against a very basic exodia stall deck* I love Dan to pieces, but deck-building- and strategy-wise he's the Joey Wheeler of this game
Damn, I forgot that LotD on everything except Switch is still on Master Rule 3. We're about to transition into Master Rule 5, for reference. There's a patch coming to get it up to at least Master Rule 4 this year, unless I'm mistaken. Weird seeing this old board from when Pendulums were new and not being slaughtered by core mechanic changes.
Well, there's the Forge program, which is free and still updating as far as I know... I don't know if they got multiplayer working yet, and the AI can be iffy. I mostly like it cuz it's really easy to code in your own cards
Back when problem solving card text wasn’t a thing and you could get hit with delinquent duo, confiscation, snatch steal, change of heartand forceful sentry.
Heart of the cards is actually his millennium puzzle's power, each item can do cheating magic stuff, the puzzle gives luck proportional to need, effectively the worse things look for Yugi the more likely he is to draw exactly what he needs. Watching him call out cheaters when he's cheating in multiple ways(Yami playing for him and the Puzzle rigging the deck) is less impressive rewatching the show.
Dan Vs Yugi Attempts:
1 Killed
2 Exodia
3 Exodia
4 Exodia
5 Exodia
6 Killed
7 Exodia
8 Killed
9 VICTORY!!!
10 Victory again just to prove himself.
He really shouldn't have replaced one of the negate attacks with enchanted javelin.
That Kaiba duel was straight out of the anime, unbelievable
I would like to see Dan go through the whole game, tbh
Gameplay starts at 10:25
17:16 for when he actually starts dueling and not fucking around with chat.
Dan: "I'm gonna play all the games from the anime!"
Also Dan: *Uses his own deck which is hecka overpowered compared to the anime characters*

This is literally the only time id watch a game like this.
I have waited a long time for this moment, my little cubed friend.
Brilliant star wars reference there.
The attempts against Yugi were amazing hahaha
Nice. Love Yugioh but the new cards have my head spinning. Hope you do some more in the future :)
man, is there any good magic the gathering games (or clones) on pc? i've heard nothing but bad things about most of the official stuff
Well, there's the Forge program, which is free and still updating as far as I know... I don't know if they got multiplayer working yet, and the AI can be iffy. I mostly like it cuz it's really easy to code in your own cards
As someone who doesn't Twitch... How much is 100,000 twiddlies?
back when the game was still simple to understand
Back when problem solving card text wasn’t a thing and you could get hit with delinquent duo, confiscation, snatch steal, change of heartand forceful sentry.
It’s still easy to understand, its just more stuff
This was frustrating to watch at some points.
Heart of the cards my ass Yugi just draws his entire deck in 5 or 6 turns

GX was amazing, that was my childhood
I was confused by this because it feels like it came out relatively recently so I googled it.
GX came out 16 years ago.
Now I feel old.
