Wow! I knew of Ikan but never payed much attention since I normally only watch Asimo, but I have to say even more impressive than his skill is his sportsmanship. Smiled all the way through and adjusted like a champ! Ikan got a new fan today!
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe ikan was the only ryu representation at higher level play for the longest time before asimo came around, or at least ikan was the best ryu for a while. Both asimo and ikan has mentioned how they're inspired by each other too. It's amazing how different they play and how much they can learn from each other
@@SomeGuy-qd3li interesting. Can you tell me how their play styles differ
@rimzaaah5892 ikan goes for more basic stuff and builds a very strong ledgetrap wall while asimo maintains his advantage state as much as possible in mid-center stage and keep his opponent above him to go for ladder combos. However, asimo, as of late, has also been going for more basic/solid combos and less ladder combos but he still very much keeps his opponent in mid-center and has a very oppressive advantage state. There's wayyy more I could rattle off about their movement too but this comment is long enough lol
@@SomeGuy-qd3li rattle as much as you like, it's very interesting😊
@rimzaaah5892 ikan and asimo is a very good display of how west vs Japanese players move. Western players tend to move pretty simply and will typically run up and shield a lot to bait attacks. However, japanese players absolutely love running in and out and catching any whiff punish they can. Ikan has a very solid and simple movement that is efficient and safe. Whereas asimo runs in and out of danger constantly, throwing out tilts and what not to catch options. Though as of late, asimo has been playing a lot more similarly to ikan with simple and efficient movements, but still very much japanese
ikan looks so genuinely happy to be there lol. Loved seeing this set!
Probably one of the most enjoyable matches I ve watched for a while , ggs.
That's True bro.
Its funny that so many people (including me) kind of instintively view a ditto match between two people as prooving who is the better that character. When you think about it the ditto is often one of the least relevant matchups
DarkWizzy said something like this years ago when he was being compared to another Mario player.
@@TerenceTanyi Even tho Dark Wizzy aint the best Mario, he's my favorite Mario.
今回のIkanはあしもにも負けないくらいの操作精度の高さと何より終始笑顔なのが羨ましい😁
ここまでリュウ使ってたらそりゃあしもとやれるのが楽しいのも納得やね
I find it incredibly interesting that Asimo has better results overall yet always loses the Ditto.
Nice combat!
I definitely enjoyed the match
Idk what asimo was trying to do when he did that last down b tbh
Lets go Ikan!!!
