That is a super target, man. It must so cool having your skills and the tools to go along with it. Great job! 😀

Nice! After all that work you hung it crooked for your final shot. :)

This could have been such a cool project. If you would have used unsanded, unplainned, raw wood and multiple spices like a Popular, Red Oak, Cedar and Maple. I could have done this or have laid out the plans to do this. I would have used done a bullseye pattern putting Acme Tools in cedar with a popular border. The reason you use harder woods is so it last pine could split out faster especially if the nots are to close to the edge of the wood. Otherwise nots closer to the back could actually work to keep a wedge like effect in place.

that definitely would have been cool!:) we just happened to have a lot of rough sawn cedar scraps from a fencing project.
they were not consistent enough to keep rough sawn. Thanks for watching and we will make something cooler next time;)

No way that will last long

It will last longer than any planks. But, it is probably beyond most people's skills to accomplish. The best simple target is a slice of a tree trunk about 6-8" thick. It is very heavy, but once a stand is built for it, it will last for thousands of throws. The key is to keep it wet so that it doesn't chip apart.

@@tomknapp6194interesting idea. Thats one big ass trunk slice though. Do you square it off or build a frame for it?

Sorry there are way too many mistakes even for a beginner project. And your use of tools is laughable. Could you of found a bigger chisel to square off the corner

Beautifully built target. It is a woodworking art. It is a shame that a target job is to be destroyed. If you interested see ob my channel how wukk it look like in less than a year time.
