Draconic Tree Sentinel in front of Malekith honestly took me more tries than Malenia. But I also feel like blocking her Waterfowl Dance with Barricade Shield because I couldn‘t be bothered to learn to dodge it… is kind of cheating it 😂

I heard in a cut content Millicent was supposed to be malenia but without her memories and full power but when you reach miqullas tree she gains them back and fights you that would have been cool but unfortunately it’s a scrapped idea

Was honestly rooting for the guys with the Marais Executioner and Greatsword in Castle Morne. Despite the fact that the one with the Greatsword didn't look too experienced in PvP, they really held their own and very nearly won

A High Page with Estoc and crossbow would be nice, I think a lot of people dont know how the current poise works and a no poise fast chip damage build could work now
Those greatsword guys had some good teamwork. Made for a very fun fight to watch with the amount of pressure they put on and how they didn't just use poke all the time.
Slap rotten sword insignia and milliscent prosthesis with Alexander shard and the damage you do will grow exponentially, and you can also increase the damage further with your physique flask
A lot of ash of wars and weapons are now playable thanks to poise and hyperarmor system rework. I guess St. Trina’s Torch might also benefit from the latest patch
It seems you can tell who the host is (when you kill them) by the dust the scatter into. Summons have that orange-ish yellow dust they're colored as, and hosts disappear into a grey/white cloud of dust
I recommend trying the ash of war, "Storm Assault". Before the patch, it was pretty mid because the initial storm AoE didn't really deal enough poise damage to stun most enemies, so they would always roll out of the followup. Now it's practically a guaranteed combo for ~1.1k.
The pathnotes said that several ashes of war and spells and the such got their hyperarmor increased Imagine if they buffed the hyper armor on dragon breath attacks... that's terrifying

not gonna lie ive been on a pretty huge ds3 kick lately but this patch has me frothing at the mouth to dust off my elden ring builds and make more, love the content as always chase! this patch looks so fun and has me super excited for the dlc too. hoping they buff fashion souls by a bunch, imo ds3 had a lot more options for armor in that regard
Thankfully this patch is already a big buff to fashion souls as you now aren't obliged to wear the same 4 armor sets for their poise, but yeah hopefully the DLC has some nice new stuff. They usually do.

This AoW is surprisingly good now and somehow I think it still lies outside of the realm of cringe, since it _is_ very easy to dodge with more than 2 braincells (roll in any direction its so much smaller than the one Malenia uses). Very happy my go-to weapon for Elden Bling is viable now.

Chase, how do you tend to deal with invasions where it's a host and two summons in an area totally cleared of enemies just full rushing you? I know it's pretty different per build, but it feels like half of my invasions at 125-138 are like this lately, and while I still try to eke out what wins I can, it feels like such an uphill battle.
Frrom what I've seen, patience will help the most. Not only that, with how uphill the battles are, you need to be able to notice the smallest of openings cuz you're not gonna get a lot of chances to get damage in.
Tbh I’m not really enjoying the patch, there’s so many ashes of war that just combo and can potentially one shot you, especially if you’re not at full health. Things like spacing has to be hyper precise in the colosseum or you can just get blendered by a bleed infused spinning slash combo. I wouldn’t mind it if they toned down the damage, which they probably will
Yeah, I personally love the way the mechanics work in this patch, like I’ve always said though, I wish they would lower PVP damage across-the-board. it would make for longer fights. I personally enjoy the ash of wars comboing though, as it feels like how they were always meant to be, otherwise things like storm assault, spinning slash on big weapons etc we’re not really worth using.

i hope they won't reverse it when the dlc releases. So many aows i was using were just "fun to try out" but always gave me a loss in duels because they weren't reliable. I like that the creators go more horizontal with their mechanics.

You know what bothers me? Gransax's bolt, when you're naturally holding it, its pointy end is on the side of your thumb and index finger. But when you raise it up when doing the AoW, it magically switch the pointy end to the other side.

Showcase: Colossal swords - I’d like to know what you think are the more useful AoWs to carry now. Stamp (sweep) seems good with the twinblade talisman for the damage reduction and two hit combo, but I’m not certain. Cosplay: Juno Hoslow - whips now, man. Build: Parry/Crit is probably gonna be the most interesting to see now. Apparently Executioners Greataxe is better than misericorde. Care to demonstrate? Cheers for the banging content, as usual.

I see the wizards still aren't using double Staff of Loss and Night Comet. Seems like the general player base still doesn't know just how absurd Night Comet's damage really is. Water Fowl Dance finally being usable is pretty great. Peeps just gotta be wary that it can be parried.
just fyi, you CAN be parried out of this via the first slash of each flurry (not that you'll see many people with the confidence AND timing to pull it off)
Fortunately It can be easily blocked/interrupted because of the slow startup. You can stagger the user by trading AOW. It lacks the reach that Malenia's has too, so, evading it is easier. People still crying over it and beg it to be nerfed despite all those weakness though..
I use the Foreskin swaddling, Taker's Cameo, Shard of Alexander, and Rotten Winged Sword Insignia to become somewhat like Malenia. Increased damage per successive hits + lifesteal per succesive hits and kill.
your attitude is invariably the best thing about these invasion videos. You never get salty, you're so quick to praise your opponents when they do something cool, and the positivity is infectious.
Considering 80% of players *still* don't know how to counter it, it's effective as hell. It's like seeing Morgott on that battlefield after you beat him but for Malenia.
I have been doing a Lighting Ram build for a while and in 1.10 it is finally viable in PvP, mostly because of the ability to stunlock enemies! if they don't have an out ready to use right that second, one hit from the roll can lead to a stunlock and you just win.
Waterfowl Dance being OP is very lore accurate.

It's actually not a Shamshir, but an unobtainable weapon. It's basically a katana with Flowing Curved Sword heavy attack, and Waterfowl as its AoW

One of the way to break waterfowl in pvp, beside parrying, is to use endure and trade poise hit. Since waterfowl doesnt give hyper armor.

I see the wizards still aren't using double Staff of Loss and Night Comet. Seems like the general player base still doesn't know just how absurd Night Comet's damage really is.

Fortunately It can be easily blocked/interrupted because of the slow startup. You can stagger the user by trading AOW. It lacks the reach that Malenia's has too, so, evading it is easier.
People still crying over it and beg it to be nerfed despite all those weakness though..
Go double Ruptured Physick and use Dragon King's Cragblade's WA to tactically nuke someone!

I use the Foreskin swaddling, Taker's Cameo, Shard of Alexander, and Rotten Winged Sword Insignia to become somewhat like Malenia.

I have been doing a Lighting Ram build for a while and in 1.10 it is finally viable in PvP, mostly because of the ability to stunlock enemies!
if they don't have an out ready to use right that second, one hit from the roll can lead to a stunlock and you just win.
