@Gemini Greywolf. Absolutely. UNLESS they can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they left the scene only because they felt their life was in danger.... but even then, they should be forced to prove they immediately pulled over and reported the accident as soon as they believed they were out of danger.
Some people will kill you over a fender bender.
Clarence Jones killed my brother with an axe handle, over a fender bender, on the side of Almeda Road in Houston TX.
My brother tried to get back in his truck but Mr. Jones dragged him back and beat him so badly that my brother died after laying in Ben Taub Hospital Trauma Unit for 4 days on life support.
Mr. Clarence Jones was caught, and got a 25-year sentence.
The TX Dept. of Criminal Justice didn’t let him out for 19 years of that sentence.

I completely agree. In the 70s and 80s we had a bunch of family friends who were cops. I remember one of them talking about a foot chase he'd recently had and how he was determined to catch the criminal. 10 year old me chimed in with "How did you know he did it?" He came back with 7 words that have stuck with me for over 40 years. "Innocent people do not run from police."

Yes, there are some stupid drivers that make dangerous moves, and you're one of them if you use your horn instead of laying off the gas. @1:40 the car on the right see's what's happening and slows down, because they want to avoid an accident, and thusly they maintain the flow of traffic better than the angry honker.

90% of these accidents were preventable. Coming up to intersections is where 82% of accidents occur, people are going too fast or not paying attention, or someone turning from the turn lane. Drivers need to get in the habit when approaching intersections is to slow down to give some space between the car in front of you, especially for those in the opposite direction turn lane that ALWAYS just pop out there. Reduced speed will help avoid the turn lane ninny. I see this in every state when road conditions require reduced speeds, drivers continue to do the speed limit or more and suddenly start fish tailing and end up hitting or bouncing off the wall and back into traffic. People are in such a hurry and they are the ones that are more likely to have accidents. Unless there is a life and death emergency, there is NO excuse or reason for reckless behavior. Be patient and always stay alert. It only takes seconds to take someones life, including your own. With so many people on the roads its clear many are clueless to the laws of the road, so did they even study the Driving Handbook? Rarely does foreigners coming to the US have to take both tests. Usually they are only required to take the Road Test. Which 75% fail. I believe its time to think about some very much needed changes to travel the roadways..

Maybe he was taking the driver to the hospital, maybe he was getting a drunk driver away from an accident so he wouldn't be blamed for it. The one scenario that doesn't really make sense to me is that the driver "was asleep" at the wheel.

  • @gotham61

In so many of these, the incident could have been avoided if the filming driver had simply taken a defensive driving approach, instead of feeling that they had to show the other guy how they were wrong and challenge them. While the other may have been technically at fault, it's two bull headed drivers that are at fault in most of these crashes. If someone cuts in front of you, and your response is to continue at your original speed until you are right on their bumper, then hit the horn, you're just as much of a jackass as they are.

My husband drives a school bus, and he's been in three accidents: His bus was rear-ended twice because someone was too busy messing with their phones to pay attention to the big yellow bus stopped at a stop light right in front of them, and once because someone parked a camper in a clearly labeled no-parking zone right outside the gate to the bus yard and Hub's bus went toward the gate at the same time Mr. Illegally Parked decided to pull out of the parking space, and the but and the camper both had mirrors torn off. The first two drivers admitted it was their fault, and there was no damage to the bus either time but both cars suffered front end damage, and the guy with the camper tried to blame it on Hub, but the camera on the bus plainly showed that the camper was parked in a no-parking zone so he had to pay to repair the bus. The no-parking zone had been made that way because anyone parked there made things extremely difficult for buses trying to pull into the bus yard, so rather than try to hunt someone down from all the businesses around the bus yard the vehicle would be towed.

The one in Yuma, Arizona at 33:45 I can relate to as the county I live in, in Upstate New York, put in a double right turn only off of an exit from Rte 17/Interstate 86 and it's amazing how many people can't seem to comprehend how it works. They get double left turn lanes but not a double right turn. They put it in for a few reasons - there is a close by Wal-Mart, they were planning ahead for a casino that opened a few years ago and they are also hoping more retail shopping stores move since the casino opened. They don't understand that you stay in your lane until after you turn and not switch lanes while you're turning, that you can turn right on red in either lane as long as it's safe (this is the one they really don't understand and will sit there until they get a green light *smh*) and for this particular double right turn lane.......you cannot make a left no matter what (there are drivers who've disregarded the "NO LEFT TURN" sign and I even saw a cop nab someone doing just that

The sound and sudden jerk makes me say the semi had a mechanical issue or even a tire burst and that caused it to lurch over and hit the cammer.
Yep! As the person who commented to this pointed out, another car hit the semi first. Good eye, Colin!

You can see the car that hit the semi right after the cammer gets hit. look between the cab and the trailer, you will see it glued to the semi's side.

@@Spearyn Good eye! I didn't even see that until I looked again just to watch for it.

I live in Pittsburgh. We have the most bridges in the world. Let me tell you. The double white lines when people turn onto them. They switch their lane mid turn constantly. I see it specifically leaving downtown onto liberty bridge daily. I got a dash cam BECAUSE of some of our bridge merge points. It’s insane. I’m a defensive driver by nature, I NEVER stay near people when going onto these merge points but still managed to get t boned in July at an intersection. People really need to go back to drivers Ed because some of the crap they do I’m like huh? But seriously. Stop sitting in blind spots. Assume the cars around you Will do something dumb.

As someone who lives just south of Indianapolis and crossed through it many times, I can confirm the drivers are really dumb in “Indiantrashpolis” (it’s not a good city!)

Every time I watch one of these if there is not a Milwaukee Roundabout clip I am disappointed. It's like it is Dashcam Lessons thing now. :D

They annoy me so much. But only because it physically hurts my brain trying to comprehend the amount of times the same thing happens over and over at the same roundabout
