Glad to see that you're well (and looking absolutely fantastic !) Allison. I'm happy to hear that you're still enamoured with the country. I tried it out with my 8 yr old daughter from August to November in hopes of eventually convincing my husband to join us but no luck. Living there without a partner (or husband, in my case) was not easy. Let's be honest: the people see us all as "rich people" just because we are foreigners. I have been scammed so many times... I even KNEW they were doing it and for the small stuff (the taxis - where they charge the gringos 3X wha they charge their local customers), I let it slide but not the big stuff (trying to keep my damage deposit when I rented an overpriced apartment). I absolutely understand that they have no money and mostly are trying to survive on $250 per month with families but I'm not rich - just an ordinary person - but they're like gringo = rich and will forever try to suck you dry. Fact. I think this is probably what Allison is alluding to regarding her vehicle problem more than likely. It's sad but what do you expect when you go to live in an underdeveloped 3rd world country. And the climate: the constant heat and humidity killed me. Never again unless I absolutely had to leave again.
Hay girl just looking at some your 1st video' s when you was starting out .. Check out your skin from then you just glow ! I lived there in 2017 to 2018 sure do miss them people ! Yes slow moving is the hardest thing there .. tomorrow or tomorrow lol.. if you every by the Port of Ometepee come by the hotel and visit its called Southern nights hotel on the left going down the hill to the port .. my dad is still there ... bring your friends by too... I'm stuck in Missouri in the U.S . Can't wait to get back there .. and glow again too ..love this place ! Your missouri friend's Fawn and Scott
Hi it's Fawn I was trying to sell some lake property down there and maybe a little farm in tola . Would love to talk to you ! And just focus on the our hotel there in the Port
Are the car issues more related to mechanics not being skilled or available or does it have to do with availability of parts? What are alternatives for transportation in your area? I was kind of thinking about buying a horse to ride around when we get there lol.
A bit of both, and some unfortunate luck. There are plenty of taxis and rental vehicles here. There are also buses depending on where you want to go. But, I think the horse idea is fantastic! :)
Hi nice to see your vlog was watching old vlogs of yours and searching you on insta too..i want to know about how old is your IUGR baby how is she doing did she catchup a growth. I am having a same case history of iugr pregnancy my daughter is 2 yrs now but looks very small do these babies catchup thr growth or in which year do they catchup the growth
Hey Allison, I hope you're doing well! Long time subscriber here with a slightly random question: in one of your old vlogs I remember you showing us how you made gluten free tortilla style wraps and if I'm not mistaken I remember you putting the flour directly onto the pan and cooking it like that?! I remember thinking it looked like magic. Was it tapioca starch you used? Please could you remind me what you did? Thanks so much!! -Emily
Hi I love This country! The food is so great and healthy and people live a long life there .. we have a hotel there and we came from missouri.. we also bought a lake property for the hotel for the guest to go fishing or to swim private. BUT the property was to far from the hotel didn't work out .. now it for sale it's in Menco would you know of anyone that would be interested Thanks Fawn Hotel is at port on lake .
Hi Allison I couldn't believe that with 190k you left this channel by your own decision, I hope it goes well for you in the new projects I'm going to miss your cute content😉 🤔
Hi Allison Hope all is well! My son and i may be going on a yoga retreat to nicaragua in november. Im not sure exactly where yet but if close by id love to meet up!
The school is fantastic, but my kids wanted to try homeschooling this year. There is a very big homeschool community here and alternative programs for them.
@@allisonsjourney I heard about the scandal at the Day School - re the new ownership and their "liberal ideas". A number of parents took their kids out and either homeschooled or some went to Escuela Adelante, a bilingual school that was established in 2014. It's still finding its feet but Monica, the school director (newly-appointed back in October) is a gem.
@@maribelcalens6514 I was there from August until November. I could not handle the climate nor, as a single mother there, constantly being scammed by the locals. Everyone goes on about how friendly the locals are but they are not half as friendly as the people where I grew up in rural Nova Scotia and they will not scam you systematically. I've been living in Europe for many years so I suppose city people (and Europeans) who aren't used to small-town people, easily get sucked into their "friendliness" when sadly it is not sincere as they see you as a cash cow only. I suppose this is to be expected as it is a 3rd world country after all.
Horrible. Pali is their local supermarket and more often than not the food is not fresh and not so inexpensive either. If you have a car you can drive to Rivas and shop at La Colonia but then the food is much better and the price is a lot higher too.

Hello sweetie 😘 we miss your videos I hope you are well 💗
Could you do a video update about you and your family’s health since you moved? Physical and mental
She had now. That's a lot
I am curious how your daughter with autism spectrum disorder plus PDA is doing in Nicaragua?
You are so sweet why don’t you film about your daily life not everyday but sometime❤️
Why don't you take us around town so we can see what your every day life is like around town
Hello
Why the school did not work out ?
I was wondering the same thing.
The school is fantastic, but my kids wanted to try homeschooling this year. There is a very big homeschool community here and alternative programs for them.

What's the food shopping like there

what's the reason of homeschooling your children? are the international schools bad over there ?
