I have lived 81 years. My first and last love is the piano. Yunchan Lim's is the best piano I have ever heard and I've heard all he mentioned and many more. He is surreal, he is so accomplished and yet so humble. These geniuses are gifts from heaven. What an artist!
I concur. He is superb. I hope he gets his dream. In a previous interview he said he has no career goals - he just wanted to move up to the mountains with a piano. As long as he records everything, that's fine by me. He's an angel. I hope he meets someone as special as he is.❤️💜❤️
We are in the presence of a once in a lifetime genius. Sent to us to find peace in his music and heal our souls even for a moment. I also love that he introduced himself as a student. So humble, so sweet.
Dear Yunchan Lim, re 9:48, I am praying you will at some point do physical fitness. It will "add years to your life and life to your years." And it will allow you to always finish as strongly and beautifully as you do now in Rach 3.

8:55 could anyone paraphrase it, please? I can't get this part: "I couldn't do it if I'm not at this age". Somehow the meaning of this sentence escapes my mind at the moment, even if it seems obvious.
struggling with this one too. Maybe he meant he'd never be able to play the TE in his life if he couldn't already at his age? I don't know, very confusing caption there.
I guess he meant by him being reckless about challenging it. He once mentioned that he wouldn't have challenged to play all TE if he was bit younger or older. In his current age, he finally got skills to play TE, yet still young age to be reckless enough to challenge TE12 which he wouldn't have done it after he got older and mature
My piano teacher said the same thing. He only attempted Liszt TE when he was young, in his early 20s. That is because of the level of stamina and technical prowess you need to perform these pieces. You need youthful energy to give a compelling performance. Sure, concert pianists are still amazing even at old age, and in terms of musicality and fineness of interpretation they tend to get better with experience. However, there is a peak in pure technical skill that happens at a young age. So, their best shot in playing and recording the best version of these insanely technical pieces is actually when they are still young. At least that is my opinion, and also reflecting on what my teacher told me about the Transcendental Etudes. But I am pretty sure that is what Yuncham Lim meant.

So innocent. His talent is surreal along with his humility.
He calls himself a student! Omg, I’m speechless.❤
