    All around the world, moving boulders is an art, a gold prospector must know 💪🤠👍. But you know, who invented the puller hoists? -> The Swiss 😃. In fact, the french invented them, but we ignore that in Switzerland, cause we make the better hoists, haha. Hello from a Swiss gold prospector 🤠

    You gotta start selling those sweaters! BTW - the crevicing tools Gary sells are amazing. I pulled a couple grams out of a hairline crack in the bedrock this weekend & the only reason i got to it is because Gary's crevicing tool is thin/ flexible enough to follow the crack and get it cleaned out! After this video, i might invest in a winch or comealong system to get under those big boulders. Thanks for the video Gary!

    Love your show brother! May I ask you a question? I live on Bly mountain near Bonanza Oregon. I have plenty of time on my hands and need a Hobbie like this. I can't afford to travel to far and was wondering if you lived in this area would you bother prospecting this area? I'm thinking that I want to try the Sycan river!? I've also run a Garrett 250 over parts of this mountain before and could not believe the hits i was getting could be gold hits even tho my detector was set for gold finds! I never cleaned any of the material because I just assumed it probably wasn't gold!? Thanks man!🙏

    • @TwoToes
      @TwoToes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I spent some time in Klamath Falls Oregon back in the 70's, I went to college there. I did not get the opportunity to do any prospecting. The difference between metal detectors that are designed to find gold and coin machines is, gold detectors have a much better ability to cancel out the very mineralized ground. As a general rule if the detector is not designed to find gold it will work very poorly in the very mineralized ground where you find gold,

    Watching this makes me wonder. When it comes to moving boulders to search under them, I would think lugging in heavy metal chains to a work site is an old school approach. Unchanged from before there was synthetic fibers. Newer school would be using synthetic fiber ropes and straps which would be lighter for the equivalent breaking strength and length. For example, A 50 ft length of chain rated at 20,000 lb loading capacity would weigh far more (imo) than 50 ft equivalent strength synthetic rope or strap. Being lighter for a given strength and length it would take less work to tote that in and out. Also, the effort required to work that come along would be far easier if configured with a block and tackle between it and the bolder. It would require a easy system (method) to unload and reset but that is not a game stopper and the reduced effort might over all could prove a better way to work smarter vs harder. Are these flawed observations or am I missing something?

      As soon as the rock rolls over on the rope - its junk. The rocks take there toll on the chains, rope and straps just can't handle the abuse. I'm with ya on luging the chains around - not fun.

    Another great video to start off not only the morning, but also the week. Thanks so much. And a question... since you ran out of water, have you considered carrying a "Life Straw" water filter or something similar with you? They work great and sure are a lot lighter than packing in water.
