Great breakdown. Watched this when I got home from work. Being on a volunteer department and handling multiple roles, I say Thank You for your service as well as doing the videos and breakdowns for everyone to learn from. I have shared information on your website with a few personnel already. Ron - Fire Photographer in Wisconsin
Excellent video, as always. 24:14 made me smile seeing that police officer (I think) crack open that 1 3/4 line and put some wet stuff on the red stuff.
We would call it a 2-1/2 story, with two full floor plan levels and a finished attic. With a balloon frame in particular I'd argue that the difference is important since that finished attic will have knee walls and voids that will need to be opened up. We would call it division three operationally but the size up would be a 2-1/2 story wood frame.
When I was 3 we had someone break in while we were gone and to cover it up they started a fire so I've experienced a house fire it was a 4 bed 2.5 bath we were greatful we weren't home. We never found out who did it. This was in '82
How do we find out about the lives? I’m not a firefighter but I’ve watched your videos for a while and have learned so much. I definitely found this interesting!
I missed this one but thanks for the gift that you sent out. I wanted to ask your audience why your pens had blue ink to see what they would say. Us old people know the answer but what about those, say 25 years old and younger?
Innocent or naïve comment… 23:41 in cooling down the bravo exposure, is it possible that less damage would be involved if you switched to a fog pattern? /I understand with all of the priorities on the fire scene, this may not even make the top 10.
David, Just I have never seen you encounter it in your videos BUT how do you handle Pets in your fires? Does Newark have the oxygen masks for pets like Columbus and Lancaster have?
Please raise the level of your commentary microphone. I wear hearing aids and had no trouble hearing the radio audio, but it was much louder than your audio, and the radio audio from the video covered up your commentary several times, and even when there was no video audio it would have helped if your audio was more than just over a whisper. I realize that while you are recording it is difficult for you to know or adjust accurately. I was never in any public safety service, but a scanner listener since before scanners, only tunable “police/fire radios.

Great video chief! Great way to give back after retirement to break it down! These will be amazing training videos!

There was one minor injury at this fire. I forgot to mention that during the breakdown.

Hey Dave, Does your dept authorize the use of a deck cannon when the first responding unit shows up?

Was there any extension to the inner house?

@radionut4422 Thanks for the feedback. I've been having some trouble with this new microphone. I might need to change something in the computer.
How is I20
Why did you wait so long to call it a working fire? As soon as i saw the dark colored smoke i would have called it a working fire.
