Thought about did not want to damage the car, gald I got it fixed and I hope this helps other diagnose this issue or change the wiring loom on a 10 year old plus car. The clue was it started to misbehave during closing and opening.
@@joewoodford9428 After buying a brand new Lock , I have been told that it was the TAILGATE BOOT LID ACTUATOR MOTOR at fault not the Lock...Jaguar will Not allow to return the Lock...
A total rip off I have a 2011 2.2 facelift. I use two jag dismantled in the east of England for parts and for service and most of all free friendly advice Great videos , I hate dealers and find car dealers in general less than simpathetic, your money is all they are after. Stay safe , enjoy your jag. Regards Gavin
In the end dealer stated they had double charged me for the work, still eye watering amount to fix an issue that clearly is more common based on comments I have received on this vlog !
Im trying tp remove my seats in my xf portfolio . My truck is not opening and the mechanical lock is damaged. Im trying to gain access to trunk from inside car . Is it possible to get the seat off from inside ? I have all the bolts removed bit the seats are latched at top . Any help would be great . I dony wanna break anything
Try looking at part 1 of the videos or the refitting as that should help show how the bolts and access worked. Sound like the same issue I had with the boot cable and then the lock failing. Good luck !
My 2014 xfs has done the same thing. Iam going to try a couple of jag specialist for price .
Hi Joe, did you consider removing the rear number plate and just drilling through the faulty Lock & using a screw driver to release the catch ?
