    One of the best TH-cam channel. For me, it's a dream come true to visit The Royal Society, And meet Sir Keith.

    Assuming he had a 50 year career, except for 5 days a year, he conducted on average one funeral service every day!

    who else can't wait for the unofficial official HI banana holder!!

    I think The 'Banana holder' is a purse - but the style is earlier and used in the eighteenth century by men who wore breeches. Nelson had one just like this but without the embroidery.

    I sew. It's very good stitching, but not fine cloth as far as I can see from here. Or am I wrong? It definitely seems to be for practical use. I wish I knew what it was for. I haven't seen anything like it before in my books.
    What a beautiful watch.

    Isn't that portrait at the 15-second mark Henry Stebbing (1687-1763), rather than the unrelated younger Henry Stebbing (1799-1883) who would've been alive to receive a gift in 1854? Too many Stebbings! Great video either way!

      You never allow his standing and holding these watches above the tables and floors like that! He should only be allowed to sit at a table with padding's with elbows anchored and tilt or hold something at the surface level! ):

    How is the text-outline effect done? I doubt edge-detection algorithms would be satisfactory on engravings, so is it done by hand? It's very neat and helpful.

    • @jaystevens137
      @jaystevens137 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      salmjak I agree! The Periodic Videos episode of World's Greatest Autograph Book uses it quite a bit. One of my favorite videos, with Keith and Prof. Poliakov.

    • @haroldgomez9784
      @haroldgomez9784 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      salmjak what I think is, a bit of Photoshop. Use of levels to brighten it to white(paper), remove the white and now you just have the text. Apply and outer glow on the parts that needs highlight and bam. Of course there's probably other ways of doing this but this is a simple one, two thing so maybe.

    It is clearly a decorative display codpiece. For their is nothing more holy than a holy man's crocheted crotch, complete with bronze embroidery.
