Is it the all the air in the tires that does it or is there more too it? I would easily believe its just the air in the tires, but I'm still fairly curious.
Correct, just the tire volume alone is providing the buoyancy. Each tire has a volume of 710 Litres. Nothing else on the vehicle body is sealed , as it was designed so the chassis will sit above the waterline. The Jeep with driver is about 2050 kg, which is balanced by all 4 tires about 70 - 75% immersed in the water.
@@dumbhobbies3949 It is. Keeping a nicely balanced front/rear weight distribution was part of the design with floating it in mind. Although I haven't tried it personally, have seen many Russian videos of guys with similar vehicles rocking it back and forth in the water to demonstrate stability.
Check out the older videos featuring the lightweight buggy and tires, if you haven't already. I think it would match or outperform an argo on where it could go. It certainly has a lot more clearance
Dude with a kicker motor on the back that would a tru all terrain
Can you do this kind of mod with a Roxor?
Awesome video, much better than the one from Dirt every day
Thanks!
Yeah dirt every day went way to far they could out just used paddle tires
What running gear is in it? All stock?
Dana 60 in the front and 14 bolt in the rear, 5.13 ratios and Detroit lockers. Atlas 5:1 transfer case. 2.5L engine is completely stock though!
That’s amazing!
