Wayyyyy ahead of its time. Such a great bold feel and exploration of timing and discord harmonies. Its a shame creative stuff like this doesn't get any radio play so we're all stuck with the same old crap. Also the musical production values are master class! I wish I could record/mix with such supreme clarity!
I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it, particularly how the band sprinkled a catchy tune with bars of arbitrary length. I've watched this video so many times since then that I can't believe it's only one week old!
I atually like how they have evolved. I genuinely feel with every new album they imrove, and that is rare even among the best bands. While It might not be more complicated, I think they have grown as song writers and entertainers as a whole. The range this band is capable of without feeling like it's "sold out" is actually mindblowing.
Actually I saw them live and the bass player Nathan has almost just as many pedals as Nick and was crazy rockin out the whole time. I definitely think he's just as essential.
saw them in detroit with TTNG on 4-27, it was the sheeieieieieeeeeeit. got to talk to the whole band, and they drew all over my friend's vinyl copy of X'ed out. after the show when i was downstairs in the cafe, the guitarist of TTNG gave me a slice of BBQ chicken pizza, and it was fucking delicious!
this is the best song I've ever heard!! Very cool and creative!! Tera Melos is too good for our ears that most people can't even comprehend what they are hearing!
It's so crazy to me how different people's tastes are! Like, I'm not much of a fan of this (friend showed it to me), but so many people seem to love this!
yeah that album is fucking amazing from start to finish. I remember being particularly impressed how they would have such organic, sweet sounding riffs- only to discard them after a few bars and go into more abstract territory. The last album is basically the chaotic weird shit without any of the beautiful, succulent melody no. 4 style riffs woven in.
All these people complaining about TM not being "as good as they used to be" seem to have forgotten that bands grow and mature. This band is still wonderful, they've just matured and found their sound. Its like "music fans" today have forgotten what bands do as they've been around for a while, if a band doesn't change it becomes stale. If you don't like it, I'm sorry, stop complaining and stop listening. Just because its different than their earlier music doesn't make it bad.
On the real, I kinda do like this. The low vocals remind me of Pink Floyd's Echoes, the weird rhythm isn't all THAT bad, and the visuals are fantastically and wonderfully trippy. I fucks wit dis.
Echoes? Whoa.... I do love this song, and I do love me some Pink Floyd, but that is some reach you have there! Are you able to start your car in the morning while sitting at the breakfast table?
I don't understand what people are complaining about, as if the entire new album sounds just like this song. When I first heard the song, I was like, "OK, that kinda reminds me of primus." Then I saw the video... All of TM's videos are pretty weird, but plastic suits? Anyway, I don't get why people are freaking out. I think almost every song on x'ed out is awesome and fun to listen to.
Never heard of you guys before but this track is freakin awesome! From the first listen I was caught. The weird thing is I came here from Rhye "The Fall".........
TheConditionedHuman more like 2/4. Most of the drums start on 1 and end on beat 2 then pick up the same beat on 1. But its not like the crazy mathrock time signatures yeah.
@@anusrepairman Yeah, plus there is at least one odd phrase just before the three minute mark where there are an extra two counts that flip the beat. So it's probably easiest to count everything in 2/4, or at the very least if you count it in 4/4 it's not perfectly straight and you'll still have to switch to 2/4 in places to end up back on 1.
thank you for saying this. I saw them years ago, one of the first shows I ever went to, and they flawlessly cranked out the whole album live. The guitarist did a backflip off the amp and just kept shredding. It blew me away Saw them again last year, adebisi shank opened for them and completely upstaged them. TM sounded like aimless noodling and had little stage presence. They're playing in San Diego on wednesday, and I'm gonna see them, but I'm guessing opener TTNG is going to be better
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! Aimless noodling, complex and weird for the sake of complexity and weirdness, they have lost whatever it was they had.. some of the riffs in the melody album give me chills, the whole thing is just awesome and I beat it to death 5 years ago and I've been starving for more ever since.
u wot m80?
Needle drop? You'll never get big with a name like that

Hello
Love this. The world needs more abstract music videos like this.... Well maybe the world doesn't, but I do.
You can't find this anywhere, Tera Melos is its own genre.
Tera Melos' genre is math rock.
They still got a lot of math rock in their songs.
Blend together Peter Gabriel, King Crimson and the Butthole Surfers.
I remember this legendary video.
Man, music video of the year.
Wayyyyy ahead of its time. Such a great bold feel and exploration of timing and discord harmonies. Its a shame creative stuff like this doesn't get any radio play so we're all stuck with the same old crap. Also the musical production values are master class! How do you know that it's ahead of its time if it came out 4 years ago? Just curious is all
I guess becuase I found it 4 Years later and it seemed like it was cutting edges that I hadn't seen or heard yet.
No radio time? More for us. Fine with me.
where the heck did this end up getting posted that so many people don't like the sound of it? LOL. i love this stuff, love their old stuff too.
Their brains don't get it and can't process what's happening
Saw them open for Pinback a few years ago at Bimbo's in SF and was UHMAZED. Then I found this and now I pretty much want them to play at my wedding.
I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it, particularly how the band sprinkled a catchy tune with bars of arbitrary length. I've watched this video so many times since then that I can't believe it's only one week old!
probably the best music video i`ve ever seen!!

Damn I miss this band
Tera Melos: Making Such A Happen Since 2004
I atually like how they have evolved. I genuinely feel with every new album they imrove, and that is rare even among the best bands. While It might not be more complicated, I think they have grown as song writers and entertainers as a whole. This is easily one of my favorite music videos of all time.
what is this,,,,?ive been listened to them for like almost 10 years and they changed a lot.
but still good.so insane.
amazing. reminds me of tim and eric. killer track. Gotta see them live again.
Actually I saw them live and the bass player Nathan has almost just as many pedals as Nick and was crazy rockin out the whole time. I definitely think he's just as essential.
Maybe the best music video of all time
Lol. Saw TM a few times live back in the mid 2000s....good shit.
everything about this song and video is pure awesome.
saw them in detroit with TTNG on 4-27, it was the sheeieieieieeeeeeit. got to talk to the whole band, and they drew all over my friend's vinyl copy of X'ed out. after the show when i was downstairs in the cafe, the guitarist of TTNG gave me a slice of BBQ chicken pizza, and it was fucking delicious!

Tim and Eric's Favorite music video.
So very true.
MDEs better.
jajaja
I'm not used to people arguing on a melos video. But I must admit it is entertaining. It must mean they're doing something right.
Can't stop watching this video. I think I got the message... if it as any.
This blows my mind!
It's so crazy to me how different people's tastes are! Like, I'm not much of a fan of this (friend showed it to me), but so many people seem to love this!
Crazy? Yes! My kinda crazy 🙃 Love it!!! 😍
I like this a lot. The video fits the music very well.
about two days ago i thought to myself that it would totally work to have the guys playing guitar hero instruments in one of their clips, I AM MAGIC!
¡¡¡esto es lo mejor de mi vida!!!
Wow, so open-minded! I'm sure Tera Melos would be positively thrilled to hear of your denouncement!
Willardsmusic, you're so right.
i love it! reminds me of the Tim and Eric Awesome show: Great job!
I like!!! Especially the 3d bit.. great stuff!
Can't...stop...watching
I wish they would write more stuff like this and xed out version melody nine. Theyd probably be my favorite band
Tera Melos are described as Math-Rockers or Punk-Jazzsters but listening to Bite is a strange but curious track.
wow, this is perfect
well, I'm off to buy the album.
hahaha this is exactly what I needed today
New band find. Thanks Rob Crow!! Xoxo
haha! tera melos is so awsome!
Yo this new album is awesome. It's up to you to expand your mind.
I need to grab my 3D glasses next time I watch this! Sweet video, Tera Melos!!!
This video is so damn addicting to watch, along with the song•

Nice comeback. You must be 14 years old with a smart one like that one.
damn these guys are good
Yes!

It's complete crap. Always has been, always will be.
LegoMAGIK its not though, just different
Stupid ass fuck you dont even know what music means. Dont even talk.
THEXDIMENSIONS what does it mean almighty one?
I LOVE THE SONG AND THE MUSIC VIDEO!!! :D
I'm mesmerized (and can't spell)!
Are you able to start your car in the morning while sitting at the breakfast table?
tera's vox are very Pink Floyd tho
I don't understand what people are complaining about, as if the entire new album sounds just like this song. When I first heard the song, I was like, "OK, that kinda reminds me of primus." My favorite art often makes me stop and think... wait... what? This certainly fills that requirement for me.
muito foda
P.S. Song is amazing and refreshing.
Never heard of you guys before but this track is freakin awesome! From the first listen I was caught. The weird thing is I came here from Rhye "The Fall".........
That turnaround at 1:24 is so sick
Creeepyy geez.
Essa musica me lembra Apenas um show!!
goddamn its so good
my band was looking for songs to play at our school dance... I found this and died a little bit... our drummer "cried... a lot..."
These guys are all amazing musicians & honestly what's so "hip" about this? Good music? That shouldn't be a trend.
thanks for sharing
aha fucking epic! I Hope there will be shows coming around too!
why am I getting Midnight Gospel vibes from this?
Its not alternating time signature its all in 4/4 lol. dont kid yourself
TheConditionedHuman Check out for sajjanu!
TheConditionedHuman Technically yup.
TheConditionedHuman more like 2/4. Most of the drums start on 1 and end on beat 2 then pick up the same beat on 1. But its not like the crazy mathrock time signatures yeah.
Because unusual time signatures make it more prog!
@@anusrepairman Yeah, plus there is at least one odd phrase just before the three minute mark where there are an extra two counts that flip the beat. You've never been to /mu/ have you?

Time for go!
Endless sessions of therapy will never make this moment alright.
And that's how Anthony Fantano saved the day once again!
thank you for saying this. I saw them years ago, one of the first shows I ever went to, and they flawlessly cranked out the whole album live. The guitarist did a backflip off the amp and just kept shredding. It blew me away

ikr
Their parents must be so proud.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! Too trippy for this world.
Can't get any more Death Grips than this.
