Good to see Viper getting all love, Though Magic Mountains operations are becoming six flags america's operations, i hope the cedar fair merger can improve operations
I get to visit Magic Mountain this year and I can't WAIT to get the epic credits there! Look I WILL give my love to Goliath if no one ELSE will. Titan has been WANTING me to see her sister and now I will! ^^
The editing is always informative and funny. I hope this park improves its operations and maintenance after the merger, it really seems like they have more rides than they know what to do with nowadays.
Just went yesterday it was so fun! I seem to be very lucky every time I visit this park because every time I have visited all rides have been open with pretty great operations!
That right there is a Six Flags Magic Mountain day for sure. The operational standards (which were already not that high) have completely gone down the drain in the last year or two. They've still got good coasters, but man, it's been bad.
I went to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in December and it was the worst ops day I've ever experienced at any park ever. It must be a chain-wide thing right now. Just ridiculous.
tell me about it lol. i flew across the country to be met with 1 train ops on everything, full throttle and wcr being broken down all day, and twisted colossus being closed for maintenance which was not disclosed on the app
X2 was also running two trains when I visited SFMM for the first time last year. No onboard audio or fire effects but the ride is absolutely insane. The outside seat provides one of the most uncomfortable experiences on a coaster, but you feel so exposed going through those intense elements. I'd say it's my #1 in California, but that could've definitely changed if Ghostrider wasn't closed.
After visiting Fuji Q Highland, I will never again complain about X2 running one train. I'm pretty sure Magic Mountain cranks through far more riders per hour with one train on X2 than Fuji Q does with two trains on Eejanaika (both due to shorter 5 row trains and also abysmally slow ops that makes Six Flags look like Disney).
That's not true. I was at MM for 3 days in mid June, schools were already out in Southern CA & they were running 1 train on X2 with a 1 1/2 to 2 hr wait all day, 1 train on Apocalypse with 1hr+ wait all day, a Bunch of other coasters were running 1 of 2 trains(Superman)or 2 of 3 trains available. Lines were long not b/c it was super busy(less than 1/2 of lot filled), just b/c of poor ops. Lex Drop was closed b/c of no staff & they had several other coasters running shifts, opened half the day & then closed & something else opened & they shuffled staff. Food service was terrible, half of things closed & ridiculous lines for the 2 or 3 half decent spots
Wrong, that's just Magic Mountain's horrible ops. I went recently in the summer on a holiday weekend and every single coaster was running 1 train except Twisted Colossus... which was running 2.
1 train ops are brutal man especially when they are slow loading. I had it all day at SeaWorld Orlando last week. Fortunately no one was there so the wait times were very low anyway and i had line skip but watching a train load and go through was just annoying.
I can't believe I'm gonna miss you in my home country by so close! I'm heading back there to visit family in february and was hoping to at least get DC rivals in.
My brother was there on Friday, and X2 was open for 15 minutes the entire day. Superman was closed the entire time, and Crazanity opened up at like 4pm. Also, he said Wonder Woman was running better than Twisted Colossus which I doubt because it rattled me around last year but I'm not getting back there until next month so we'll see!
Chris, SFMM question: So last trip there (1998 lol) was there Thu/Fri the week of Labor Day. School back in session and all rides were open, 90% station waits (except Discovery was filming the grand openg of Riddler)...Is that still a decent week to miss crowds there? Want a trip this year...tia :) Glad u got on X2. Most of the reason for my trip!!

I'm being completely honest when I say every video I see of this park it just looks like it's run like complete garbage. That whole park needs to be repainted fixed gutted set on fire something. I went there 15 years ago and it was the same crap. Half the rides closed. Garbage everywhere. Areas looking either not taken care of or just totally abandoned. I really don't understand the direction of this park. Then they build a low capacity single rail coaster. I just don't get it. Fix the ascetic first so your park doesn't look like a ghetto mess. I really love the themeing of freaking plywood under west coast racers and how the whole plaza feels unfinished. It's just so perfect for this park.
They were working on renovating areas one by one pre covid. That was a positive step. Lately theyve just been having a big problem keeping rides open and with decent capacity. This was a pretty crowded day on MLK weekend
@AirtimeThrills yeah covid definitely didn't help. I just saw one video from Samuri summit and it looked totally abandoned so many leaves on ninjas roof looked like it was about to collapse. Hopefully the Cedar Fair - Six flags Merger helps this park. I would like to get there again someday. Not relevant but just got my 100th credit on Surf coaster. It was great and really surprising!
My son and I went Thanksgiving week of '23. X2 closed, Viper closed, Ninja closed and Superman closed. Nearly all other coasters running one train. Horrible ops and a complete let down. Seems you had a similar experience. This park use to rock. What happened?
The last two times I’ve been there have convinced me MM is the worst run park in America. It was filthy, terrible ride ops. I swear I got chlamydia while there.
🇦🇺🇦🇺Don’t expect 2 trains on ANY Aussie coaster. Just be prepared for 1 train service. They only ever offer 2 trains in Aus for about 3 weeks over Christmas, and sometimes during the short school holidays through the year. That aside hope you enjoy our parks. Also remember, our entire country has less people than one city in America, don’t expect our parks to be on the same scale. (In saying that I think they’re pretty awesome considering that fact) 😊🇦🇺
Biggest strike I ever gave to MM was Wonder Woman 1 train ops. Average dispatch time was like 5 minutes no joke. But Goliath running 2 trains same day? What an odd visit I had lol
Be sure to get some Tim Tams in Australia!!! If you don't know what those are, you're in for a treat. It's a favorite of Rhea Ripley so you know it's legit.
Damn getting 2 trains and fire on x2 is lucky. I’ve been to mm 3 times and I’ve only seen it with one train never fire and one time it was closed for the day. Still might be my favorite ride there tho it was insane
This is horrifying. This is their flagship park and these are the operations you can expect? Are you serious? I get its January but damn. I get my home park is Cedar Point but I never and I mean NEVER outside of rainy extremely dead days where the park knew it was going to be dead, do I see one train ops at Cedar Point. This is only worrying for the future.
Kings Island is my home park and I thought the same thing. I’m very worried about the future with Six Flags. We’re already preparing our daughter that this may be the last year we go all out with season long fastlane, meal plans, drink plans, etc.
I want to go to this park so much! My home park is Kings Island, and I definitely have a better hyper with Diamondback! But I still want to go to this park! Keep up the good work!
Made the mistake of buying a season pass with the intention of taking long weekends and flying from Seattle to the park occasionally to get away from the rain. BIG MISTAKE. When we went many of the rides were broke down, running only one train, or the few that were operational had very long lines. The food courts ran out of food AT NOON! Except for X-2, an overall bad experience. Wont be comming back until Cedar Fairs superior management and monitary infusion is able to bring the park back up to quality standards. My advise, don't go until Cedar Fair is able to make proper improvements. Especially to its maintenance department. Maintenance has failed miserably there. Just waiting for the major disaster.
West coast at #3? I mean to each their own but its one of my least fav in the park. Very weak launches, pretty forceless and boring elements, and on top of that you have to try to survive the comfort collars. Racing is cool but that's about it.
scream and riddler are more fun in the winter or at night when they run slower and there’s a breeze imo. nothing worse than being rattled to death in 100 degree heat

"Okay, back at home in Oklahoma it's about 17° right now." Alright, decent weather, good to hea- "Here in Valencia it's about 60" How in the goddamn did I get tripped up by not realizing you mentioned Fahrenheit two videos in a row?
I went to Magic Mountain for the first time in November 2023 ( I really wanted to go to more Amusement Parks after Covid and seeing your channel!) - and after travelling to 7 or 8 so parks I finally met an Enthusiast. It happened to be me and him being single riders for Goliath in the back row. I knew what you said about the coaster, but still, I was in the back row, a full train, and it's really freakin' tall! It at least has to be somewhat okay! Right!? No, him and I had basically a regular conversation about coasters that could not be interrupted by Goliath - I audibly sighed during the first drop and said, "oh, that sucks", and my new friend just said, "yeah...". At least the Helix was fun, but the rest of the Coaster is useless.
I need someone to explain one train ops to me. What the hell is the point? How could it cost more money to have more trains running? Six Flags has been awful with this lately
On unpopular coasters I can see it's unnecessary wear and tear on the track and trains to run fewer cycles. On popular coasters, or coasters like Twisted Colossus that had an hour wait running 2 trains - the equivalent of one train on a normal coaster - when it needs 3 to have a shot at consistently dueling, and it has 4 trains so it can always have one out of the cycle for maintenance...I dont know what the logic is for having two off the tracks.
@@AirtimeThrills oh totally agree on the unpopular rides. I'm just still fuming about my SFDK trip last month where they only had half the rides open for most of the day and then the ones that were open were all one train ops! Had to wait over an hour for Medusa and the park wasn't even that busy! Then when we got off, the line was twice as long. It was just a really quick way to make me rethink buying a season pass. They definitely had the employees available to make ops better because so many were standing around at the closed rides to just tell people they were closed.
@@AirtimeThrills kinda funny how that works. I remember the first time I rode Apocalypse (when it was Terminator Salvation: the Ride) for the first time back in 2009, it had a delayed opening due to technical issues so the ride operators were directing people to go ride Déjà Vu next door.
@@AirtimeThrillsits gonna cost $15M+ to reopen. I get they want to revitalize the park and give it new life to attract families, but definitely seems like an investment of that size would be better suited for a part of a major new coaster.

"Okay, back at home in Oklahoma it's about 17° right now."
Alright, decent weather, good to hea-
"Here in Valencia it's about 60"
How in the goddamn did I get tripped up by not realizing you mentioned Fahrenheit two videos in a row?
I am useless when it comes to celsius
Goliath deserves its haters
Goliath is awesome. I don't understand the hate
We haven’t been there in years but we love it. Unfortunately we have to land in LA to get there and I’m never going to that shit hole again.
I'm surprised to actually see a line for Viper. Each time I had gone to Magic Mountain (all before Covid), Viper rarely had a line that long.
Vipers line i believe was the product of everyone leaving X2 at the same time
@@AirtimeThrills kinda funny how that works. I remember the first time I rode Apocalypse (when it was Terminator Salvation: the Ride) for the first time back in 2009, it had a delayed opening due to technical issues so the ride operators were directing people to go ride Déjà Vu next door.
And to think that day I was in the NEC which is (probably) the hottest building in England, even in January.
Will six flags magic mountain ever reopen their sky tower?
I heard they're starting a process to do so. But it will probably take years if they follow through with it
@@AirtimeThrillsits gonna cost $15M+ to reopen. I get they want to revitalize the park and give it new life to attract families, but definitely seems like an investment of that size would be better suited for a part of a major new coaster.
Probably not any time soon, unless they’re teasing it as a “GIGA”
