The penultimate episodes always end on the darkest hour, but this one still went so hard at the time. The fact Lloyd becomes so scared at what he's realized that he loses his Elemental Dragon was a testament to just how screwed things were. All that effort to stop a potential war... only for Chen to have been 4 steps ahead from the start. Garmadon learned from the master of deceit.
I'm a die hard fan of new Ninjago, but daamn the old endings went hard. This is a really strong competitor with S3 ending and S6 ending. Garmadon's voice along with the montage of the Ninja alone, far away, miles away from eachother during a time of war when peoe needed them the most really showed how screwed up things were
This ending was legit ruined for me the first time I watched the season! Explanation: You know how Prime Video likes to skip to the next episode after the ending? Well-turns out this episode was just a tiny bit longer than normal episodes, and just when the ending was coming up-Prime skipped it! 💀
Unpopular opinion: But the last few episodes of Tournament of elements aren’t as good as the first 8. They hype up “the next Serpentine war” but it’s just a little skirmish in between a couple rocks. I love Season 4, one of the best seasons, but the finale makes it so that Possession is a better season.

You can't say that this episode ends with a sad ending
Imagine if Ninjago had a military to defend itself from every threat like this
But they didn’t probably because they were attacking jemonakai village
Man Tournament of Elements was freaking awesome. If only new Ninjago could be this good. This episode had such a hard and intense ending

Always gotta be a tragic ending
Those poor people.
Not as sad as the end of s3 but a really strong one
Yo, what about the ending of The Way Back, when Nya died temporarily? I actually cried in that scene
I cried too
I didn't cry but man the chills THE CHILLS THE SADNESS INSIDE
When Zane dies that’s one of the hardest episodes for me to watch or when Cole falls into the dark mist
This ending was legit ruined for me the first time I watched the season!
