I'm taking your advice and turning off the always on display. In regards to the aggressive auto brightness, I've found this a problem going back to iPhone 12 Pro Max. So I've been adjusting downward the display brightness for a few years now.
I have applied to return my iPhone 14 pro to the seller, I said battery is draining too fast I can latterly see the battery counting in front of me like 1% each 5m, and it go crazy when I open a camera in Google meet.
Never understood why they made the always on display show the entire screen. Just show me the time and whatever widgets I have on my screen. My 13 PM went 2 days with same usage and had battery power to spare, while the 14 PM barely makes it through 1.5 days. I’m also having lagging issues which seem to creep up daily.
Weird how people are having trouble with battery. Not on my iPhone 14 pro… I charge it to 80-90% every time and it lasts me a whole day… never let it go down 15% tbh.
Extremely disappointed from my iPhone 14 Pro‘s battery life since the last iOS update. It’s currently so bad that it drains more battery when I don’t use the phone than when I actually use it.I have for real tried everything and it doesn’t seem to get better://////
I don’t understand why they market the iPhone 14 Pro as having a 23 hour battery life… But then have all these battery drain issues? Was that number determined with factory settings? Or only after optimizing settings to account for battery drain?
Just bought iphone 14 pro yesterday and this issue makes me disappointed. Updated already in the latest software update but still battery drain fast even its idle.
I just bought my Iphone 14 2 days ago. First day the battery works so efficiently. But after that, I notice that without using my phone it seems like something is wrong because it felt warm when I touch it, and last night before I sleep i charge my phone and unplugged it when its 100% and the today when I woke up my battery only left 65% without turning on the always on display feature. Damn this IOS 16 is killing the battery. What should I do now before I think best to go visit the Apple service centre?
I turned off the AOD since i have a smartwatch AOD doesn't bother me much but I have to say my 14 pro max battery is not up to the mark and is dropping too fast. The 13 Pro Max has the best battery backup.
The battery drain issue is not fixed. And I’m trying it out with turning off the always on display. Let’s see if it does something. Also the brightness isn’t an issue.

I ve just woke up and lost 14% battery over 8 hours night sleep with no wifi or bluetooth, no AOD or brightness - just sleep focus. I may just pay it off sooner than I wanted to trade in for the 14 plus. Same chip as the 13, lower quality camera too, but the battery should be much better and thats my number 1.
I always had the max models but felt like going for the more pocketable Pro model this time and love this size ....But gotta say I'm rather unhappy with my battery life....Nevertheless love my AOD so it's gonna stay on.
BTW putting your phone face down will automatically turn off the display, so that may also be a useful trick when needed.
A charger exists
@@ttdarksy331 I already traded in the pro for the pro max and am really happy with the 2 days plus battery life
O have done those things and my 14 pro battery performance remains unsatisfactory. I expected a full day battery life, but actually is a half day battery life.
I'm taking your advice and turning off the always on display. In regards to the aggressive auto brightness, I've found this a problem going back to iPhone 12 Pro Max. So I've been adjusting downward the display brightness for a few years now.
Got mine on launch day, Turned off always on display within the first hour.
turned off the always on display first day itself when I got iPhone in my hand
I’m on 16.5 and the battery still drains pretty fast
I’m not sure if I should exchange for the 13pro? Any recommendations?
I have applied to return my iPhone 14 pro to the seller, I said battery is draining too fast
I can latterly see the battery counting in front of me like 1% each 5m, and it go crazy when I open a camera in Google meet.
What phone did you get
They added customisation to AOD!
You’re also having lagging issues daily with your 14 pro max only. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Mine (14 pro) barely makes it to 34 hours compared to when I first purchased it 11 months ago it went at least 2 days.
For the always on display I feel like Apple should just show the time, widget and a very basic version of notifications
Weird how people are having trouble with battery. Not on my iPhone 14 pro… I charge it to 80-90% every time and it lasts me a whole day… never let it go down 15% tbh.
I did all those things and more, I even removed all my widgets and my iPhone 14 pro is still experiencing battery drain.
Same
Is it still a problem with 16.1.2 update
how about displaying the weather on the lockscreen who just wanna look at the time on the screen it’s useless to me
I get 4.5 hrs screen on time on my Pro. This is bullshit
So what you’re telling me is to just keep my 13 Pro Max ?
My phone overheats while using GPS and I have low battery mode and dark mode enabled. It also feels extremely hot when trying to charge.
Hello Lisa, I have the same issue and I just got my phone last week! Not sure what to do!
I’ve done all of these and it’s still terrible. I’m thinking about returning my 14 pro max.
If you don’t want to see your wallpaper with AOD on, just use a plain black wallpaper.
Update 16.1 and I still have battery drain issues goddammit
ios 16.1.2 does the battery still drain fast?
@@edan02 unfortunately yes for me, I think battery fixed will only come in 16.2 which isn’t until mid of the month

It can last for three days if u dont charge it because I have it and I use it.
Just bought iphone 14 pro yesterday and this issue makes me disappointed. Updated already in the latest software update but still battery drain fast even its idle.
Do u use low power mode and how did it go with 16.1.2 does the battery still drain fast
Mine started draining fast yesterday, 6 hour battery life. it was fine since release date. No settings were changed.
What should I do now before I think best to go visit the Apple service centre?
any news please? Im considerings getting 14 pro too...
Hey man. Do you live in AB, Canada?
I turned off the AOD since i have a smartwatch AOD doesn't bother me much but I have to say my 14 pro max battery is not up to the mark and is dropping too fast. The 13 Pro Max has the best battery backup.
The battery drain issue is not fixed. And I’m trying it out with turning off the always on display. Let’s see if it does something. Also the brightness isn’t an issue.
Did it fix it
Seems like it’s a little better. I left my house today at 11am with 92%. Now it’s 3pm. Been using my phone for work. And I’m at 74%
Do u use low power mode? also the 16.1.2 update how did it go for u? does the battery still drain fast
Hello just wanted to ask, i have iphone 14 pro max and i noticed that my battery lost 5 of battery overnight even without using and im on sleep mode. Is this normal? Can someone pls enlighten me on this? Coz ive been seeing videos on youtube that iphone 14 pro max really extends up to 1 day but my battery doesnt 😭😩
You are now officially our GO TO TH-camr for tech. Thank you for the work you do. We will continue following. Take care stay safe.
Background of wallpaper is completely black of whatever subject is in front if the clock when you don’t have the always on display on and you turn the screen off and it looks so bad. Almost like a glitch.
Im on 16.3.1 rn with my 14pro and i didnt have any battery drain problems but my battery somehow got so much better
Hi ,,,my new iphone 14plus battery down ready then now how to solve
I ve just woke up and lost 14% battery over 8 hours night sleep with no wifi or bluetooth, no AOD or brightness - just sleep focus.
On the other hand my old iphone 11 lost just 1% in the pretty similar conditions.
Something s wrong here! If I had also AOD on, i think I would have lost additional 8%.
Have you checked the battery usage history in Settings? I noticed Skype using up ~15% in the background overnight on my iPhone 14 Pro.
My camera app was on for some reason and drained 75%-28% in few hrs wtf
@@roninbushito This is not concerning or unusual. Having the camera open is one of the taxing tasks on a smartphone, up there with gaming.
When people want to recalibrate their smartphone battery (draining until the phone shuts itself down, then charging to 100%), the most common method to quickly drain the battery is to max screen brightness and leave the camera app open.
My iPhone 14 pro lost 8% overnight isk I’d that’s normal or bad
Yea my new iPhone 14 pro battery drained fast 🤦♂️
But I haven’t been using my 14 pro max I have all default setting from factory reset and I keep it in my pock pretty much all day. I’m so confuse, still in talk with apple since I’ve had this iPhone from 3 months ago.
Or it something to do related with dynamic island? The battery for my iphone 14pro seems drained to much too. 😑
Congrats you’ve been selected for the giveaway send a Dm....
No its not the dynamic island. Man with my iPhone at the end of the day had always 40% or sth. But with updating to ios 16 I can't life through a half day. It's definite ios
My AOD is turned off and I can’t make it a full day. I’m on 30% by 2PM my 13 pro max lasted a full day no problem - I don’t consider myself a heavy user and I know it’s not me because my 13 lasted just fine
Congrats you’ve been selected for the giveaway send a Dm....
I feel the same Bro. Before ios16 anything was fine. Now I can only survive half of a day with one charge
Excuse me? I want to ask that why my iphone 14 pro max battery increases when I turn it off and on? 🥺
Thanks to your video I immediately went to update to my 14 pro!
Thank you sir. I just upgrade to 17.3.1 on my 14Pro. But when charging it shows 100% battery charged. Then I disconnect the charging cable then few minutes later my phone would shut down by itself then when I reboot (with the charging cable connected) it only shows about 11% charged level. So frustrating since I was not having any issues whatsoever before updating to 17.3.1. I hope they'll fix this.
turned AOD off. coming from Pixel, I was used to turning my phone facedown.
I have the iPhone 14 pro max with always on display on and the haptics on as well and I get up at 4am and go to bed at 10pm and by that time I still have between 40-50% of my battery lift on my iPhone so that about the pro max have a bad battery no and my girlfriend as the 14 pro and she dose not complain about her battery it last her all day so I think it down to how you use your 14 pro or pro max if your battery is not lasting you all day
I left home at 5.30 with 79%, it’s currently 7.34 and I’m already on 55% this can’t be normal????
I got exactly the same experience :((
@@DDArmy ios 16.1.2 does the battery still drain fast or did it get fixed?
I turned off haptic feedback and it made my battery way better
how do u do that
My battery was good the first two days but then I don’t even use it when I’m working and when I see it is in 78%!! After 7 hrs is that normal?
I don’t think AOD is the problem.😊
Thanks for info, I did turn off always display on my phone. This idea made it worse! The IPhone 14 Pro Max has brightness of 12000 nts , I tunes brightness levels down same as 13 pro max. The drain problem was solved tune down brightness levels
The new iOS 16.0.2 didn’t fix any battery draining issues. Hopefully next iOS
bro iphone 14 pro max battery is 4323 mAh and 13 pro max 4,352 mAh apple Scamed us 😥

I bought the iphone 14 pro. My old iphone is 7 plus. It was good but I use the iphone 7 plus as a work phone. Calls and IMs. I had to replace the batt. But since I use it heavily for work it drains the battery a lot. I turned off the background refresh on my old phone and turned it off on my 14 pro. The phone lasts long for almost 2 days with moderate use.
My test showed AOD took 1% battery in 4 hours and in 9 hours it was 6%. 16.02 fixed battery on my 13PM from 6 hours to 7/30-8 hours battery life.
You are incorrect on the battery size difference between the 14pro and 13pro. The 14pro has an increase of 200mah.
I took of always on display and it helps ALOT ,that eats a lot of battery in background
Congrats you’ve been selected for the giveaway send a Dm....
I got my new phone a week ago. Immediatly turned the AOD off, and I have black mode always, plus I always dim the brightness and use low power mode. I don’t use power banks anymore and the battery on this new phone is worse than my 11 pro that I have had for YEARS. Wtf Apple this is a 2000€ phone ???
(I’m on 16.1.2, just downloading 16.2!, hope it helps…)
Same
When I’m not using my 14 pro I put it in low power mode to save battery
Yes, but you shouldn’t need to do all that. That’s the all point.
My 14 pro gets 8 and a half of screen time
The first thing I did when I got the 14pro was turn off the always on display it’s not normal
Mine was dropping 1% in 5 mins and i just updated it to 16.2 now its been more than half hour not even one percent has been dropped
iPhone 14 Pro Max is terrible. So bad I had to return it. Compared to 13 pro max
The AOD in my Samsung, the settings is Tap to Show only. Thats what apple should have.
Im planning to buy iphone14pro but I will just turn it off
Same here. With these reports I'm not gonna buy it
Battery timing in iphone 14 promax was told 27 hours but in actual battery drops very soon.
Very disappointing
I upgraded from iphone 11 to iphone 14 pro max mainly because of battery. But i am not getting the battery i expected based on the reviews. It’s still draining sooo fast 😢really disappointed
And now ?
Come on now..the battery went from 4352 to 4323..that’s less than 1%
Turned always display off. Turned display brightness down
I haven’t had this issue.
