will this work for a galaxy s3 SGH-T999 model number?
hello, do you where i can get the CWM for SGH i747?? because in the link it only apears AT&T (Use this for Canadian SGH-i747M) and i dont know if it works for my At&T SGH i747 with no M on it, its american.... pls help
I also did everything you did, and a 2:26 like other people the custom recovery is not there, just the standard Android one. No errors and tried with default Odin options and also with autoreboot unchecked and battery removed.
+bobsotherone OK, have it working now. If you reboot after Odin and get the standard Android recovery, your phone has overwritten the custom recovery on reboot. Redo the Odin part and choose no auto-reboot. Once Odin is complete, remove your battery and replace. Then hit volume up, home and power - once the Samsung logo appears, take your finger off the power button. Hope this is helpful.

Hi Tech, I did everything successfully till 2:26 but when I boot to recovery I don't have CWM recovery but Android system recovery...so no install from zip option. Pls advise...thanks

Hi TechTube, Could you please help me. Odin is recognizing Samsung S3 phone! i have tried in three different versions of "Obin 3-v3.10.6" , "Odin3v185" and "Odin307". in my Samsung S3 i have enabled USB Debugging in Developer options.
even i have tried by removing battery and installing Samsung USB drivers (download.androiddrivers.net/file/Samsung/SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe)

My website had all the links and that crashed, I was not able to recover anything.
You can simply search the name of the ROM on xda developers and follow this procedure to flash.

+Mohammed Afzal hey brother.. when u connect your phone with ur laptop in recovery mode, in the Odin it will be shown autoreboot option. untick it (autoreboot). then it will. be fine... hope you understand.
Do you have to root it or can you just flash a custom Rom without rooting?

Shah Fahad install the TWRP app and install TWRP recovery with it, it helps you pick the right one for your model, but make sure it's right.
Odin works fine but when i close the program and try to boot the phone into recovery mode it dosent have the "install zip" option. Any suggestions ? Using a GT-i9300

In ODIN, under options uncheck autoreboot and once again flash the recovery.
Once done remove the battery and boot into recovery.

When I do the odin process it just stay for ever in file analysis .
So I used Odin to install the CWM file. I am using the CWM file AT&T S3 as I'm in Canada and have a similar model. In Odin, it was noted as being PASSED. However, when I tried to go into the S3 download mode, it won't bring up the CWM recovery mode. Instead it seems like I still get the factory option

When I go back to odin to try and reflash again, I get the above menu and no warning message that you get at :52/3:37 of your video.

Thanks, I had to remove the battery a couple of times, plug/replug my cables, restart odin again and I finally got it to flash the custom recovery program. I also managed to get SU installed, got all those messages/features confirmed during installation. However, root checker says the phone is not fully rooted for some reason. I got the same message earlier when I rooted my Samsung Tab 2 as well. Now debating about installing Marshmallow where I read the camera no longer takes picture at same quality and the front facing camera no longer works for every program? Do you have a newer version of Marhsmallow for the AT&T i747?

After install CWM from Odin, pressed vol up + power + home to enter recovery mode. However, I got no command screen? how to fix ?

Now once the recovery is flashed,remove the phone from the computer and use the combination to boot into recovery.
It works, really appreciate tech tube!!!!! The important step is to remove the phone from computer after flashed. Just curious, any idea why is that so?

+addthisto yes it is,always make a nandroid backup before you flash any new ROM.

I couldn't come to download mode. It comes every time in the samsung recovery and not in the download mode
For booting into download mode you need to use volume down + power + home button.

The links you have for the Verizon S3 had a .img file so I have to find a .tar version online. I have tried a couple of different downloads and I keep getting the same error.

I just tried and it worked! With a few differences. The biggest being you gotta use latest version of SuperSu.
1. My S3 cannot boot into recovery or download mode while powered on. I had to power it off before I could enter download mode. Small issue...
2. I used Odin 3.09 as that is what their website says is the most suitable for Samsung.
3. USE LATEST VERSION of SUPERSU:
For me. It was not able to install binaries because of some BS security software called Knox that comes pre-installed on my ATT S3. After reboot it told me Knox was interfering. So even though I made it to the last step, I was not rooted (used root checker app to check). SuperSu even tried to disable Knox but failed.
I redid the process with the latest version of SuperSu and I have root access now. Google "SuperSue Chainfire" and you'll find it.
You also wanna make sure you have all the Sumsung USB drivers before trying this. If you download Samsung Kies, it will install most of the drivers. Before you even begin this, make sure you are in developer mode and USB connection is in debug mode. Once this happens, Windows should install all the drivers needed for connection to Odin. By the way make sure Kies is not open when Odin is (it says that on the Odin website).
But thanks for the video man! I was definitely pulling my hair out going through 60 tabs in my browser looking for information, and this was the best guide that I found. I hope this long ass comment helps anybody else who might run into the same issues that I did.

There are no files with those cm files, you never showed where and how to put them on your phone !
