Can't believe it's been three months already. I've only ever ridden 5 speeds, I'd love a sixth speed. I like a bike without tech - none except ABS is perfect for me. Right with you about the tacho, that's what I'd go for too. You've got me thinking about one of these one day in the future mate, very nice walkthrough and glad you're enjoying the RE.
I reckon it’s great that you acknowledged the need to downsize from the BMW, and from what you’re describing you’ve done your homework and purchased a practical ride for your needs. ✌️
Moz. You gave a fantastic overview of your bike. What a great decision for you this bike was. You can hear in your voice that you love it. Thankyou for sharing with us all
Mate a fellow FNQ rider here from Cairns I've got the SM in Interstellar Green. My fav ride is going up the Gillies and touring around the tablelands. Good review mate.
Thanks, Michael. I've viewed Teacher T Thailand. I'll need to check out his seat mods. I have seen his Hagon shock vid, I can't find a distributer in Aus. Cheers
Moz I have exactly the same bike as yours and have no trouble removing the seat by just removing the allen bolt at the back then wiggling the seat to get it from behind the backrest.
Hi Nicolas, That's cool. I found it much easier taking the backrest pad off. I tried wriggling the seat off without success. How do you get on getting the seat back on, well, getting the bolt back in? Still a great little bike. Ride well. Cheers
It goes on not too bad but I have to do it a few times because the rubber supports keep getting knocked off, I have just found that it only takes 5 minutes to take the pad off and put it back, that'll allow the seat to just drop down so no displaced rubbers. Thanks for that idea 👍
@ChuckyLad G'day Charles, how's ya been? Are you buying it new? Take one for a test ride. They're at a good price. If you upgrade the exhaust, you should also open up the air intake. I installed a DNA performance air filter, made it breathe better and gave me better fuel ⛽️ consumption. Also, if anything like the Supermeteor, the rear suspension is crap, real crap I upgraded to YSS shockies, the suspension is now sweet. Check out my suspension upgrade videos. Cheers
@@Moz42 yep from new. I believe RE have addressed the rear shocks but will be looking. I dont like the way the mufflers stick out so if I go ahead it would be one of the after market systems with altered pipes and appropriate intake (not even sure but may involve a computer adjustment too). They are still a heavy bike but up against a 900lb Chieftain it will be a pleasure ; mind you i will miss the pure grunt of 1900cc from the Indian
@ChuckyLad I'm currently in the Royal Enfield dealership in Cairns, the bikes first 12 month service, and I'm presently looking at the Shotgun in the showroom. The shockies are exactly the same. The only adjustment is preloaded. There's a mob in Tassie that make exhaust systems for REs. Verex.com.au. Cheers
@@Moz42 sweet mate. nice lookin bike eh. I wss watching some yanks and they were saying the rear has been upgraded to same brand as front shocks but maybe not in aus eh
It is a very good real-world review of the Super Meteor. I agree, a tach should be an option, if not standard. It's a stunning bike and very British looking to me. After 3 hours, my ass gets squared! 😂😂😂
@@Moz42 l have watched many videos on the bike. Videos about upgrading the wiring, ignition system, control levers, relocating the regulator rectifyer so it won't get cooked, shocks breaking into 2 pieces, failure of chain driven oil pump resulting in seized motors, upgrade the forks, chain and sprockets needing replacement at low mileage.,too much grease on relays needed cleaning 🧹,frame welds breaking, etc. indians make same money 💰 as the Chinese. G’day Moz. I’ve just stumbled on your channel mate. True blue review there bloke. I ride a couple of Royal Enfields, & a couple of Guzzi’s. Love ‘‘em all. I ride mainly south Victoria, I hope to experience the roads up your way sometime. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos mate.

Yeah, Nic, it crept up on me also, 3 months. That's the first time I've done a review like that on a bike, I just told it as I saw it. Cheers

Thanks, Roger. I looked at a number of options and this little bike ticked the boxes and was value for money. Cheers
I love that twin motor, although I'm yet to ride the Super Meteor
If you get a chance, take one for a test ride, Rob. Cheers
Deffo the best colour choice 😎
Thanks, I like it. Cheers

Thanks, guys. It's a nice little bike, it'll do me just fine. Cheers
Nice work Moz, I spat my tea out when you explained your seat issue 😂🤣 I hope the RE looks after you my friend 😎🤙🏻
Thanks BB. Only way I could of to explain it. 😁🤔 Cheers
Seriously thinking of getting the same model and colour. Thanks for the Aussie perspective.
No problem 👍 You're most welcome. Cheers

That's cool. we should catch up sometime. I'm on the Tablelands, fav road is the Gillies, in either direction. Ride well. Cheers
Great video mate, Gibbo
Thank you kindly
Well done Moz !!
Thanks, Paul. Cheers
Suggest you check out Teacher T Thailand for his RE seat cushion mods and later on his Hagon shock review. Good review thanks.

Good review and a great bike. I too found the seat uncomfortable after a couple of hours.
Thanks, Stef. You must exert a little excess downward force on Australia also. 😁 Cheers

I hope they upgrade it with the same LED instrument on the new Himalayan.
That would be good, as long as they give the tripper the flick and include a Tacho. Cheers
hey mate. I'm selling my Chieftan because I am an old fart that can't handle it anymore. Thinking about the shotgun 650 with an exhaust mod
