    Right after watching a video about why solo Orcas are not valid anymore I watch your video about how you still like it.
    I am training for this finally (after putting it off 11 years) and I might be too late to the mining game, but the idea of the Orca makes me happy. Until it gets blown up, of course...

    I'd like to hear the pro and cons of selling the rocks directly vs reprocessing vs compressing

    • @27Killermike
      @27Killermike ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually base it on the cost to ship vs. the market's cost. Because you never can get max on reprocessing, I usually sell it compressed.

    • @keldon_champion
      @keldon_champion ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Compressed is usually your best bet unless you have perfect refining skills and a good way to transport the large volume of minerals to market. However even then it is still often easier to move compressed ore in high volume and still get top dollar because you have to consider who is buying your ore and the manufacturers that are buying usually look for compressed ore because it's easier to move to their manufacturing site so they are only going to buy minerals if they can get it cheap which is obviously the opposite of what we want.
      TLDR: minerals eat both your and the buyer's profits in the shipping costs/time so it's generally best to go compressed

    Extra 25% bonus that was on sisi before nerf was good enough to consider doing it again. I was more disappointed in sunken skillpoints few months prior to the nerf. I never used to leave it there mining for hours like some people. I would get up in the morning, bring out the Orca to the moon belt, start mining while I prepare my coffee, then chill for about an hour, checking whats going on, doing industry/trade/PI, and completing daily portion of project discovery which theoretically takes 40 minutes if you time it perfectly,but in reality its 45-50. It was just a routine before I would go to another stuff where real ISK was. I just get discouraged when I see the numbers. Hard for me to undock mining ship lately when I know I can earn more ISK hacking 1 relic site.

    I am suprised that we don't have a deployable compression unit. Call it a DCU, for solo venture and barge pilots.

      Good idea but it would eradicate the drive to create fleets. it would do more damage than good

    Orca solo mining is like having a target painted on it. You are the spezial of the days menu for every ganker grp. But if you want to Deal with that risk and you like it why Not.
    And the Video is nice you keep it short and give all infos which needed. Thx

    I have an orca, and almost done with the skills for the industrial core, im REALLY nervous to get out there with it... hopeing to have fun with it but its my first capital ship. xD thank you for your orca builds and videos, i appreciate them, they help me prep.

    • @majormaccas
      @majormaccas 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's not a capital ship, it's just a large and expensive ship, but no jump drive, no capital ships skill requirement, means sub-capital

    Pyfa says I can get up to 28.3 m3/s with an Orca using max yield fit and augmented mining drones, which is a fair bit of income, but my barges are still mining way more than that when I boost them with the Orca. I run B-type crystals on my Hulk alts and pull about 96 m3/second for each Hulk.

    • @life25curious
      @life25curious ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That might be true...but not all of us can afford multiple alts like that!

    Id like to do this sort of mining but a 2.1b ship mining at around 12 mil an hour its like 175 hours or 35 days of 5 hour a day mining just to break even , i feel you could probably spin a whille pick something on the market at random buy 2.1b of it then just re sell it 30 days later and actually make something , i wish this sort of mining was a little better id love to do it

      Unless you get ganked, the 2Bill cost is actually a rental/deposit fee because you can sell it back after you use it and had fun trying something out in Eve

    I had an orca once. I was ice mining (high sec) when a group of 30+ stealth bombers uncloaked. All that tank didn't mean shit.

    I wonder how much of a yield can you get from a porpoise with your skills. I am training into it, and the associated skills, but i have no idea what is the max
    I would use the regular t2 mining drones, as the augments cost a lot. I also want to keep costs down in general.

    does the mining foreman burst work on the drones?

  • @francescohenaut39
    @francescohenaut39 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    its basically the worst activity possible for value, you could rat in a ships a tenth of the price and make 4 times that much money, its way better in most ways to rat in a mack, because you arent risking a 2.2B ship, you arent blocked for 3 mins from warping or moving, its really not efficicnet, like, you will just lose moeny dong that. you get 10M isk an hour, and you will need to make 2.5B a month to plex your acc, it really seems like the worst thing to do, noot counting the months of training for that orca

    That fit will get you whacked if you try to use it in a moon belt or anything less than 0.8 space. They'll bring a blob of catalysts against you. That's just too expensive of a target for the gankers to pass up. Seriously, nothing says AFK like an Orca drone mining. Just check out the killboards.

    Im honestly surprised any one even want to mine veldspar seeing how damn worthless the ore is. I mean in a game where being space rich is kind of needed seeing how expensive ship are. Sure if your building stuff for your self or such yeah I can see it. I mean 10-15mill an hour with a high chance of ganking. That seams to be allot of work for nothing. I mean if you enjoy mining there are still other more profitable things to mine and 100 other activates in game that is more profitable. Same shit with mission running shit loads of work for basically shitty rewards.
    I mean if I compared level 4 missions rewards to any other mmo it´s basically your a level 70 charter doing level 10 quests. Honestly it´s kind of sad that allot of EVE online PVE activates = shit load of work for long periods of time and the rewards is basically low level rewards you would give level 10-15 player in any other mmo.
    Honestly null sec is equally as shit here make 90mill an hour ratting if you got high skills do that for 5000 hours so you can have enough is to by a 2-5bill ship that you will lose in 5 min. I mean no matter how you see it I think it´s stupid you work for 100 of hours just to lose it in minutes.
    EVE is suposed to be a game but you end up grinding for hour and hour and for what I shinny ship that will be the next gank target.

    I cant really figure out what the benefits are of the augmented drones compared to the regular ones.

    • @BonfireGamer
      @BonfireGamer ปีที่แล้ว +1

      augmented mining drones provide more m3/ minute, thus give better income

      More chances of getting bumped and stolen since it cost 30mil each.
