I'm keeping the original pocket clip because it makes the knife look more like a grenade.

I’m always enjoyed XHP as well, it’s a great steel! I’ve gotten used to the G10 versions - part of me doesn’t want to like the LW so I don’t get tempted to collect those as well 😂
If you try putting the raindrop carbon flytanium scales on a regular s30v manix2, that’s the only one with the bead blast blade finish, it works really well with the scales with that gunmetal finish look…

Same! Had no idea it existed til now. I ended up throwing a Lynch NW deep carry clip on it and it rides more cleanly in the pocket now. Appreciate you dropping a line 👊🏼 🙏🏼

I have a rex45 and 15v g10 versions and a xl st.Nick's version, all with AWT scales,REK clips, and ti ball cages. Those mods brought the manix2 to another level for me. Which manix is you're favorite of the bunch and do you have one as a regular user?
Ooo wee, I’ve been eyeing those AWT scales for a while now, they look amazing! How’s the feel in hand? Is the Aluminum slick or is there sufficient grip to them? REK clips are gorgeous! Where do you normally get the Ti ball cages? You’ve got some great ones for sure! My favorite Manix 2 is probably my user - Cruwear with diamond G10 texture. Was an old sprint run. However, I got a hold of a Manix back lock with foliage green g10 and S30V and that has quickly climbed its way into my rotation.
Recently brought this model, was super excited when it came in. The lock was pretty bad out of the box , it was so tight that you couldn't 'spydie-flick' it. Looked at some forums and some say it just need to be 'broken in'. So I applied some knife oil around the pivot area and gave it a few open and close action. That's when I notice a fine line of blueish greenish appearing on both sides of the scales. Disappointed doesn't even describe my emotion at this point. All this hype about USA made knives from different knife channels stating they are quality......not so sure about this. My spyderco from Japan and Tawain have been perfect from day dot. Not sure what's going to happen with my knife, have sent it back to Spyderco. I will be hesitant to buy a USA spyderco again.
Appreciate you dropping a line, thank you! I can certainly agree that the dialogue surrounding pro-USA made knives don't always meet the QC. I try to support USA made knives whenever I can, but there are so many amazing knives made internationally. I've been fortunate enough to say that majority of my USA Spydercos have not experienced the same QC issues such as your Manix 2 LW, but I have faith that Spyderco will make you whole. I wonder if they used Loctite on the pivot screws, which typically, for me, looks to be blueish/greenish. I've only had a couple LW versions and both haven't had similar issues. I do love my Taichung Spydies and the ones from Japan haven't failed me yet. Keep us updated once you get your knife back from Spyderco.
You know what, I've heard both FRCP and FRN get used interchangeably on different online retailers and I totally thought of FRCP, but recalled FRN being used to describe the handle recently so that's what stuck smh, appreciate you calling that out! 👊

@@rjlewis8346When I first tried the FRN/FRCP scales I wasn’t a fan, but got used to them after revisiting them. Yeah, I have a few - ones I carry the most are my REK Ember 2.5’s. I have a video up on one of them, but plan to start doing fixed blade Fridays videos throughout the months. What about you?

Always a fan when I see your posts on BF! I haven't tried a LW in a while, but I'm glad I decided on the Magnacut Salt.
I really like the LW. The regular is a bit burley for my use.
I have the LW Magnacut and a LW sprint in XHP (I’m a huge XHP fan).

The black cts-bd30p actually came with a clear ball cage. Not saying yours did or didn’t but they did from the factory.

The manix 2 is he only knife I own two of so far. He m390 and 20cv.
Such a great knife! I sold my M390 brown g10 a while back only because I figured I had enough knives with that steel lol
