I discovered you a few days ago whilst looking for Bodhran lessons (thank you for those!). I since discovered this amazing documentary made by you too. The quality of this video is just incredible, it's better than a lot of stuff they put on telly! Great job! I'm going to watch the India episode next. I could honestly watch an entire series of you travelling the globe and spending time with drummers from all cultures. Thank you again.

Check out Mohamed Reza Mortezavi. He's a an excellent Iranian drummer who now lives in Berlin. His hands are exquisite in playing and his solo concerts are magical to behold. He's mostly known for daf and tonbak playing, but th eman could play anything with his hands, and his philosophy of music is so environmentally organic.

Greetings from ancient Iran. it was a beautiful vlog about traditional drumming in Iran, I am a extreme metal drummer inside Iran and our music is more underground that no one can imagine how hard it is to dodge the misunderstandings and dangers we are facing here. all type of music old and new from traditional to jazz, rock, metal and etc. is practicing in Iran. also I am a hang drummer and have one and also had interest to bodhran many years ago but unfortunately could not have the pleasure to learn it. wish you luck for your future journies.

It is only because some Western country that elected a true fascist has decided that Iran is one of the Boogie Man enemies . The US always needs to have an enemy (Or two to three)to rally behind. What an empty culture. I was born and raised there but I moved away to enjoy other cultures and will never move back to that war mongering country.

I'm sure you do understand the power of music & rhythm on the human body & soul.. (and they do too..) .Music unites people too.. No wonder music is restricted... Plato wrote: 'Music is medicine to the soul. justice is to the soul as health is to the body. Through music, the soul learns harmony and rhythm and even a disposition to justice.'. This is the quote I was looking for: “Let me make the songs of a nation, and I care not who makes its laws.” Andrew Fletcher

Excellent video! Enjoyed it very much. If I could change one thing about it would be how the narrator pronounces 'Iran', which is not quite correct. Iran should be pronounced as 'Iraan' or 'Irahn'. Same with 'Tehran', pronounced as 'Tehraan' or 'Tehrahn'. Great job on the video. Thank you.
