- In 12 weeks we'll be flying to the US to stay overnight at Camp Crystal Lake on Friday the 13th. To start our preparations, let's rewatch the first appearance of fully-grown Jason in Friday the 13th: Part 2 (1981).
Having a extra RKG production each week makes me very happy.
Thanks for the inspo boys my wife and I are also watching one movie a week and being in switzerland we cant go to a camp crystal lake, but we are going to a lodge by a lake at the end
Lovely video lads, question, whats with the zoom on the corner of the tv @28:28 i cant see anything different
@rkg I was wondering this too
Same I just saw that now haha
This series is really helping my focus on getting work done at the minute. Just feels like sitting down with your mates and having a good old chat. Keep it up boys!
This series is fun, we are having fun.
I am really looking forward to watching this series once I have a bit more free-time. Thanks in advance!
I'm loving this series so far it's one of my favorite horror series. I can't wait until next week but I'll be upset if you don't mention the horror/disco/funk theme music😅
The thing about this Jason that always stands out to me is just how human he is. As Gav points out, some of his usages of technology are rather uncharacteristic, but also in the damage and reactions from him during the finale. Ginny manages to give him a pretty good beatdown, where later Jason's would barely even flinch from a chair smash to the back, let alone cowering away from a chainsaw. It lends credence to that idea that Jason is just a normal, if very tough person at this point, and only becomes supernatural after the lightning resurrection in Part VI
Also, that chair pratfall has always been one of my favorite scenes in the series. I don't think it's meant to be scary, but rather showing Jason's inexperience at the whole murder thing. The sort of creative experimenting of a guy going on his first killing spree and trying too hard for style points.
Likely gonna be quite cold here in the states especially at a campground so maybe "brush" up on how to make some fire, warm jackets, nice snacks, etc.... lol
Haha yeah my first thought was “camping in New Jersey in December is gonna be a little chilly”
I've never thought about the fact that Jason is an iterative creation, but he 100% is, and I've never even considered it. Man, this series is wild compared to Halloween.
I've realized now that i've only seen the first three movies, so I guess i'll be watching them week by week to catch up.
To me Friday the 13th is the quintessential slasher film franchise still. And that's because it is PURE slasher muck. They don't try too hard. You know what you're getting pretty much after the 1st film. I think Halloween and others are a bit different in that regard because they try to be a bit deeper. But sometimes you don't want that.
When i watched this film first, i thought Jason almost drowned, survived but was left with serious mental / developmental issues and his mother was embarrassed or had a mental breakdown (or both), considered him gone, kept him hidden near the lake and told everyone he was dead. Idk in my head, it made sense at the time!😂
I'm realizing that I've *definitely* mixed it together with Psycho in a way that makes both son and mother be alive in *both* movies.
Yeah that jump at the end where he comes outta the water got good tho 😂😂😂
Also gonna be 100% necessary for you to know what poisonous plants are near cause poison ivy and poison oak are very prevalent in the states and getting either would suck. Poison ivy actually works through an oil called urushiol that can last on clothing and items for up to 10 years not even kidding.
Jason could be a angry spirit that gains form only on Friday the 13th (if you assume he died that same day on his birthday) and for some reason he still "grows" like some will from Pam wishing her son had grown up.
Horror movie logic... not a thing for these, let's be honest 😂
I remember when RKG first stated and a community "Friday The 13th The Game" stream happened. Was great fun playing as Jason & hunting pub3less Dale down 😂
Well done lads
I watched Friday the 13th pt 2 at a mates birthday party (second on the bill was Nightmares in a Damaged Brain). Towards the end of the film and just after birthday boy's mum had passed around a plate of ice lollies, a guy jumped through the patio curtains from outside wielding a massage carving knife and screaming. It was birthday boy's 17 year old brother, but none of us knew that as it was dark. Yep, the closest time I ever got to pissing or shitting my pants in fear.
19:00 I am shocked Krupa has never seen The Town that Dreaded Sundown! Amazing horror film, great old fashioned slasher goodness.
45:58 A villain is automatically less scary if you can imagine them taking a shit; Vader no, Thanos yes!
Part 2's pretty decent. Seen it a bunch of times.
go to the bar and have a beer 😆
Maybe Pam had more than one child and when she lost it they got treated as a replacement, but that still doesn't explain all the supernatural stuff that happens in the series after this one.
6:50 I can confirm the legend about the Black Nun - I remember it from when I went to Llangranog!
My theory is that the movie is bookended by dreams. There is no way Jason would be able to track down Alice so that is a dream she is having as part of her trauma. And at the end Paul and Ginny escape and she has the dream of muffin and Jason popping in. The reason Paul is not there is because he went and got the police.
I wonder: Is Jason's natural skill with any and all weapons the reason he can use the stove and boil water? Because they're also means of murdering somebody horribly in movies? Is he a savant at using anything that makes for a grisly murder? Built a house because he's a wiz with a hammer? Installed a toilet because he's a natural with a wrench? I know it doesn't explain his clothes, but...
So I DID Google this I'll say it straight out. But because of the adrenaline and your brain functioning so much different when you are THAT scared, like "I'm going to die from a killer" scared, you can indeed involuntarily piss yourself. It's mainly all in the brain though why it happens.

38:30 That's nonsense - Gav's always advocating for putting on dead women's clothes!
