if the film is mainly about a love interest or couple getting together then its fine but yeah when its clearly a side plot and jammed by executives into the film for marketing it can ruin the momentum of the main story for sure...separating the two is always the way to go....if the film is about misunderstandings curses friendship righting wrongs racism hatred and treasure and building character then its better not to have the main character fall in love as well...it just messes up the films pacing cause the film isn't about love
