Neither of the 2 schools I trained in taught the 3-Section Staff, but I can see why. It seems to be one of the more difficult weapons for the average student to learn. It looks like it would take extra dedication.
But thats the advantage of learning it, such a small percentage of the world would even understand how the weapon works so they would have trouble defending against it, just like the nunchaku.
I demonstrated to one of my students how to wrap someone up with the 3 sectional in my tiny living room once. About 10x15 with furniture tiny. He couldn't believe how useful it was in such a small space. You can easily use it in close quarters. Another time, I got pulled over by the police with one in the back seat. He asked me about it, and I just told him that I'd probably just knock myself out with it, and he let me go.
Beautiful job! Very difficult weapon, I appreciate your coordination and skill, I trained in Wushu KungFu for about 2 1/2 years, trained w the spear and broadsword and attempted the 3 section staff and promptly bonked myself in the head on the first try lol so I love to see people that can maneuver this weapon. Thank you
And you lose the grappling techniques becuase now the chain is to short to wrap and be controlled properly. Better to keep the spacing it is there for a reason.
Very helpful. Because of you, I will be exploring the end grip with a focus on movements while encasing myself in the triangle. You gave me something new to investigate. So let me offer this. Try doing these motions with a 10-foot length of chain. It is a really good way to learn where the momentum travels. th-cam.com/users/shorts2Px13zW2nRo?si=aai_bTf_z0VINkkk
My name is Jeremy Hammond and I am from Washington state. Thank you for your lesson and I also like your wrist band. I am ready for 3 section staff training but I don't know anyone who is in my area. I live in tokeland Washington and that is in pacific County. Can you give me a recommendation please?
Based on that comment I would guess she raised you without a father. Black Dragon Kung-Fu salutes you for allowing us to waste your time. Fantasize all you want but I am straight.

I’m a long time student of nunchaku. Started using the three section recently. It is tricky!!!

Outstanding! Mahalo for the suttle pointers my friend aloha.
Amazing skills!
We need to get you some fire props. Have you ever tried the fire staff?
Yes!🙏🏾
If a get a 5 link chain I cut the middle links off and connect the two end links with a carabiner. Shorter chains are faster and easier to control.
