I know this is super obscure, but my game crashes at seemingly random sections of the game.
It crashed twice, then I just went around the "area" my game crashed in and it was fine, now it's a narrow corridor and I can't walk around the area.
I tried your fixes however they didn't work for me, does anyone have any ideas?
Mine also crashes when I get on the main elevator in the cultist base level. No way around it. I'll update if I find a fix.

I downloaded the DirectX update from 2010 I installed that I also put on my graphical settings back on default startup the game and then exited the game. Upon re-entering the game I changed my graphical settings back to the highest settings available but I also turned on adaptive sync. I'm not sure which one of these options stop my crashing but it hasn't crescents and I'm running at the maximum setting possible and it's smooth as butter so nice what a great engine
UPDATE: I tried a few things and it's working for me now. I verified local files through steam but this caused the program to crash on launch. I uninstalled and reinstalled on steam, then went into the steamapps file and set both the doometernal.exe and the idlauncher.exe to run as an administrator. You can do this by opening their properties and going to the compatibility tab. Also make sure your GPU drivers are up to date, naturally. This all seemed to solve the crashing on my end. I hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the tip my pc can run this game on ultra at a steady 140 FPS but when I set the game to ultra settings it would crash all the time randomly but this tip worked!

HELLO GUYS, MAYBE YOUR HDD IS OLD AND BROKEN. JUST DO WHAT IT TAKES. TO SIMPLY FIX DEFINIVELY STUTTERING, JUST CHANGE YOUR HDD HARDRIVE, I'VE DONNE IT. NOW, THE GAME RUNS PERFECTLY.
can you please help me i dont know what to do. when i change my vsync to off my pc crashes and i see a blue screen i tried r_interval but it still crashes. do you know how to fix this

Thanks bro!! Really, i can't believe that the steam's fps counter is doing that in 2020.... I was diyng at 50 fps, now i am at 90... just blow my mind
