Do not purchase any soupmaker unless it has a non stick bottom as ingredients will catch on the bottom and the machine will then cut out. The compact Morphy Richards machine is an example. I own one and have yet to successfully complete any of the soup recipes. It has cut out every time and the programme is lost. I also own the 1.6 litre non stick Morphy Richards example and I have had no issues with it across all soup recipes.
I'm not considering to buy a new Soup Maker at the moment, but whatched the episode and gave it a TU for the fact alone you upload this kind of usefull content. You bring it in a very nice classic British manner; it's not spoken too fast, so non-native English viewers can also follow along quite easily.
Found your channel through this video for the soup maker, very informative thanks 👍 My dad used to be a manager of an electrical shop years ago and your showroom reminds me of those days 😊
I’m interest in purchasing a one cup machine to replace my kettle. Can you do a video about the one cup. Unsure what to look out for, so which one to purchase. Is it even worth investing in one. Thank you 🙂
I, at first bought the Morphy Richards Clarity £100, kept cutting out, tried two more of the same make, the cheapest being £40 in picture above, every flippin one cuts out. Spoke to the company who were very helpful and tried just water at their suggestion, (in case food was sticking at the bottom) once again, overheats and cuts out. I am buying an Aldi Ambiano one as this is clearly a faulty thermostat problem with all of the Morphy Richards ones.
Same experience with Morphy Richards soup maker 5 years ago! Clearly it’s got an uncorrected design flaw… My soup maker comes with built in artificial intelligence and can also cook other items! The soup maker is me, a saucepan and a stick blender.
How about using an Instant Pot for soup? It has a keep warm function. I made pea soup in mine and it was excellent and in a quarter of the time if have to cook it on the stove top. I prefer chunky soups like meatball stew or beef barley, but some are good smooth too.
But, doesn't a soup maker save energy costs? I make soup the traditional way, takes time and energy, but was thinking of getting a soup maker for the winter months if it saves energy.
So the plastics inside are in contact with the ingredients during the cooking process..? So I feel that could lead to ingesting plastics which we need to cut down on as much as possible...
I have a Morphy Richards soup maker, the clear base one, paid AUD$155. It's a great idea but the veggies keep sticking to the base, start to burn so the soup maker shuts off.....I'm taking it back, too much money and frustration for something that doesn't work most of the time!
@@lords-electrical I had a second hand Kambrook first of all, it worked a few times then the thermostat went in it. I love the soupmaker, the fact I can have beautiful smooth soup in 21 minutes is amazing. It saddens me that I have to take this soup maker back but there is no point in keeping it when it has this issue. Hopefully other people won't have the same issue......
Yes that’s true. Akiara looks good but it’s not better for soup. Better for only nut milk. So waiting for a complete steel body product in future. I am 67 n waiting:)
I've just had this very soup maker for Christmas. On the whole, I'm delighted with it. I do find it cuts out from getting it overheated far too easily. I would rather the thermostat maintained the heat rather than turning the whole thing off. I also find the bit of the cable that plugs into the soup maker can be insecure and come away too easily. This is a real nuisance if you're part way through a program. You have to restart the whole thing again, then of course, it gets too hot and cuts out. Then of course you have to wait ages to start again. Much longer than the 30 mins suggested. This aspect is driving me nuts.
Something else to litter the side in the kitchen its just a large kettle with a blender in it and all those programmes, got to make sure all veg is cut to the right size or it won't cook, how is it easier than a pan and hand held blender? First world must have . . . .
I get it, but its just a device that you throw all the ingredients in and 30 minutes later its done. No stirring of pan required, but i understand the pan and blender combo can still work out ok.
I've always used pan and blender up until now but I got a soup maker so I can start it when I get in from work, jump in the shower and it's ready for when I get out.
Rambling on about the product, do you think we have no common sense? You have rambled on and told us very little about the soup maker, your audience are not 12 years of age!

Brilliant video, thanks. I love carrot & coriander, tomato & basil soup
I use my soup maker mainly to make home cooked food for my dog . Brilliant

Tomato soup and grilled cheese is my favorite

Tefal BL841140 Easy Soup and Smoothie Maker
How is it 4 times quicker?
I like smooth soup. I like to drink my soup, not eat it.
Thank you for the great content.
The plastic portion inside the soup maker is it good to use plastic in cooking
Tomato and Basil is a favourite of mine 😀 useful informative video 👍
I love a Celery & Stilton myself, smooth, maybe some crispy shallots on top. I wonder what Lord Electric's soup of choice could be... 🤔
Leek and potato always goes down a treat with me
@@lords-electrical Do you have a recipe? Potato and leek soup sounds wonderful.
@@Sharon-pb7so well, that went down well.
Thank you for the advice. My favourite soup is ham and lentil.

How much water do you put in a soup maker to make thick soup for two people?
I wondered what Mr. Benn did for a living.
Perfect review 😊

Please the clean button there I don't know the use since I press it nothing is working there again it just keep turning back
Since it takes longer time does it retain the nutrients in the veggies
Yes it will retain the nutrients, its actually pretty quick at cooking too.
Informative. Thanks.
This is good for my children and they all love smothie soup and myslef2 I'll buy one insha'allah ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🥰🥰

Thats a shame, as normally we get good feedback from soup maker customers. Don't give up, perhaps just try a different brand of soup maker

Same issue here
Great content :)) thank you
The new one Akira soupmaker is in market. How does it work any idea?
I must admit i haven't seen these before so its not really fair for me to comment if they are any good or not

Is it cheaper to run than using the stove ?
Smooth soups for me! 🍲
That's good soup...
Tomato and orange soup is delicious
@lordselectrical Is this prize shortlist genuine? I suspect it's a scam
Can I use Ingredients that contain food starch (rice, pasta, instant gravy) or will it stick/burn?
I don't see why not as soup makers are not cooking the food for that long to dry it out.
@@lords-electricalThanks!
Smooth!
wouldn't touch a Murphy Richards with a barge pole - filled correctly but keeps on cutting out after a minute - waste of money
Thanks!
