    I have soup every day - great way to pack in all your veggie nutrients in one yummy bowl. And they are cost effective too. Carrot, pumpkin & sweet potato is a recent favourite, but I also make minestrone, curried butternut & sweet potato and veggie soup. Cauliflower & broccoli are a bit expensive at the moment, but I've seen some really nice recipes using these ingredients. You can use the veggie cuttings to make the broth for the soup (just clean them well beforehand) eg onion skins, carrot tops, potato skins, celery stalks etc. Soup can be enjoyed cold, warm or hot - perhaps with flatbread, a cheese dipper, a slice of toast or a roll. I make a large batch, freeze some and keep the rest in the fridge for a quick & easy meal (lasts about 3 days in the fridge). I make my soup in the microwave to keep electricity costs down.

    I've been investigating getting one of these but it does seem like they're a saucepan combined with a food blender which is how I make my soup now, unless I'm doing a chunky soup and then I don't blend it up.

    Wonderful, entertaining review. Thanks for sharing! I'm in the market for one for a friend. He is really not a kitchen dude, but loves the soup I make. Alas, he just would not attempt multi-ingredient soups, or benefit from an instant pot, so I thought about the 'dump and cook' alternative.
    Personally, I make soup in a big pot, and finish it with a stick blender. That way, I get to control the chunky/smooth ratio. However, I can understand that being able to simplify the process of eliminating junk food from our diet has to be a good thing.
    Again, thanks for sharing.

    Evidently you can blend without heat to make smoothies or hummas with it also. Have you used it for blending to make smoothies and hummas? How was it, if so?
    I got the silvercrest Lidl version of this. Blends really well and crushes ice. But I'm not convinced for soup. Sticks to the bottom and harder to clean.
    . With Lidl version blades are in the bottom (like a nuitribullet) and you lift the jug out of the base ( jug quite heavy and base quite high) so a bit tricky when it's hot, rather than lift the blending stick out of the jug as in Aldi version.
    With blades in bottom also makes it more difficult to clean and it's soup. So you need to remove blades to clean the base. There is a pulse and two speeds for blending
    Also, no count down time on Lidl one so you've no idea how long is left. Aldi version. It's also a little cheaper.
    Lidl seems to be a blender that makes soup. This seems to be a soup maker that blends
    I'm now considering buying this instead

      I have the asda soup maker. It's more or less identical to this with different branding. I've used it to make smoothies a few times! It works brilliantly. It has a pre-built smoothie/cold drink option for it so I just toss fruit and juice in and 5 minutes later I have smoothies.

      That's a great question. To be honest I've never tried cookig meat in it. My gues is that because of the high pressure cooking environment it should be able to cook meat fine. If it can cook hard root vegetables like sweet potato all the way through, which it can, then it should be able to easily handle meat. Nevertheless give it a try and let us know how it does. Check out the link in the description. It's been over a year now and I love my soup maker. It's fab and coz it's so quick and easy, it gets used all the time. 21 minutes from popping the ingredients into fresh, steaming hot soup!!

    I think you found yourself a winner 🏆 😋 🍵,one other kitchen gadget to take a close look at are slow 🐢 cookers for fast eaters, they have come on leaps and bounds in the last few years with the introduction of digital control timers now becoming the norm and standard,it gives you total control on the food you are cooking, pop the ingredients in the morning before you go of to work, switch on and set the cooking time, and press to come home from work to a hot meal especially in the winter when it's cold and dark long days ❄❄❄⛄☁🌒,or load up the night before and switch on before you depart for work, they are handy kitchen item to have just like your soup maker, one other thing is make your soup and put it in a food flask for work, you will save yourself a small fortune 💰 💸💸in buying food from venders, the money 💰 saved will pay for your soup maker ten time's over especially in the winter months . 🍴🍲😋 👍

    No saute function, no keep warm function and no auto clean. For a little bit more you'll have a multi pressure cooker and you'll can use your more easy to clean hand blender to blend the soup.

    • @FoodTech101
      @FoodTech101 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No saute but it does keep soup warm for a couple hours. I like it because it just makes fully blanded soup without any effort or mess, so quickly ...and really well. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe and stay tuned as I plan to do a lot more product and food reviews this year.

      @@FoodTech101 Right now they have a great multi pressure cooker like croqpot for only 60 euro ( Lidl Netherlands) It can saute and pressure cook your soups beside cooking all other things. The only thing you have to do yourself is blending with your hand blender. This soup machine looks more complicated to clean than a hand blender, you can't put it in the dishwasher so overall you have more work with cleaning the soup machine than with making soup on the stove or a pressure cooker since you have to handwash it. This looks to me like a kitchen thing what is ending in the garage like a popcorn machine, pan cake machine, bread machine and so on. When did you use it for the last time? 😃
