The oculus and VIVE are not gaming platforms they are peripherals, them locking things down is like saying you can only watch youtube on a sony monitor or you can only play example game B on a logitech keyboard
razer keyboards mouses and pc's laptops etc are all good. there are 2 things they are behind on though, headsets, and pc's their pc's are good, but overpriced, sadly, custom building is much more money efficient, although compared to other pc companies razer is about the same, its just that custom is cheaper in general. also razers headsets are overpriced, or well, i found some that are underpriced is more accurate. a good, and much cheaper headset is the HyperXCloud 2, its really comfortable, and because its made from a smaller brand, you dont have to pay an extra $100 for the brand name. its got 7.1 surround sound, detachable and replacable earpiece things (it comes with 2 types, a leather feeling one that im wearing right now and another foamy feeling one, both are good.) also it has a really long cord, and one of those button control things, that controls your mic volume, your sound volume and whether surround sound it on. great overall specs. worthy buy, even for non gamers.
Hmm, Grey and Co. playing text adventures... why not for the next Cortex Anniversary (Cortexnniversary?) play the original Leisure Suit Larry? That'd be... interesting.
Your understanding of what you refer to as the "vr console wars" is incredibly without nuance for people who claim to be interested in VR. The difference is not between competing closed platforms, but an open platform vs a closed platform. This is android vs iphone, not nintendo vs sega.

I have a DeathAdder mouse that is now over 4 years old, but it still works fine, so the price is justified, I guess
My kraken only plays sound from one side and I just got it a month ago.
