    I had an iPhone 6s and was amazed by the videos I could now record from my dashboard camera-holder. Versus other phones, you don't get the wobbly picture with a nice stable holder. I didn't know it was iPhone technology that was creating this ability. Thanks!

    I coming from a mid-range non stabilising photography phone to Samsung S7... so I can't wait to test this out as I get silly amount of blurs (admittedly minute ones mostly but still I want to be getting more sharp quality now) on my current pictures. so thank you very much for this excellent video and advice 👍

  • @wilsonlee63
    @wilsonlee63 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Optical Image Stabilization is a must have feature on a smartphone for me because I take pictures at subjects spontaneously & quickly thus sometimes resulting in blurring, OIS can compensate for this.

    I think OIS is more significant in videos and night shooting but doesn't compensate too much in good lighting conditions. Even in low light i would prefer more aperture rather than OIS.

  • @chidianuforo3670
    @chidianuforo3670 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Failures? OIS is a saving grace. After I upgraded from the Galaxy S5 to the S6 edge, I decided to do a camera shootout. No matter how hard I tried, the S5's pictures always came out blurry. I didn't realize how bad my pictures were until I saw what the S6 could do.

  • @rydrew
    @rydrew 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    OIS is good to have. It may or may not have saved me multiple times when taking photos, but I have shaky hands so it probably has.

  • @javiertejeda7975
    @javiertejeda7975 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    OIS is still something I look for in a phone. There are exceptions like the Nexus 6P or iPhone 6s that take good pictures and don't NEED it but it does help to have it. I like OIS overall it's an amazing feature even if it's a small one.

    • @sandeephyd4921
      @sandeephyd4921 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Javier Tejeda Dude, 6P and 6S are not supernatural some phones, they too need OIS to be called as good...... ofcourse they're good when using as pointnshoot but even in slightly complicated situations they struggle big time, this video is the evidence

    • @javiertejeda7975
      @javiertejeda7975 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +sandeep natikar oh I understand that. I was just stating that they take damn good photos I just didn't know not having OIS does this to pictures. Or rather, I didn't know how drastic it was.

    • @sandeephyd4921
      @sandeephyd4921 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Javier Tejeda 6P and 6S are like pure pointnshoot, now-a-days its not good at all....they dont have DSLR controls, and no OIS, I mean 6P is good but now-a-days a sub $200 has DSLR controls.....and about 6S, apple is oo good at hyping their products coz that's a shitty camera bro, the worst at that price, I had the worst experience with it

    • @javiertejeda7975
      @javiertejeda7975 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +sandeep natikar what do you mean point and shoot is no good at all? Do you mean the phones in general or just point and shoot? You have to remember most people don't mess with DSLR controls... They point and shoot. And apple is okay their post image processing is on point. It's not all bad.

    • @sandeephyd4921
      @sandeephyd4921 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Javier Tejeda ppl use....these companies are not mad to give these manual controls, they know whats the requirement of ppl and they put efforts invest money and give it to us......but this greedy apple never gives good tech, coz they know that ppl buy their phones simply becoz of the logo....DSLR controls is a must have feature

  • @rafieboy05
    @rafieboy05 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    my z5 had no OIS but recording still smooth with no shaking compared OIS when you move the ois starting creating shallow movement. yup IOS can make device captured in low light at lower speed compared digital stabilizer but can it shoot sharp moving captured in low light. i dont think so.

    6s has digital ois. I've been using it for a while and whenever I take a video, my hand shakes a bit but when I try to review the vid, the shakiness disappears, nothing but a smooth video. Maybe that's why iphone 6s' video is a bit zoomed in. What do you think?

    • @nogamename1154
      @nogamename1154 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kyla Salonga 6s plus has ois. and i'm sure iphones have digital stabilaztion

    • @jayonsee4946
      @jayonsee4946 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      6s doesn't have ois,, only 6s plus have it. the one in 6s should be digital stabilizer...

    • @shngwnds2005
      @shngwnds2005 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +nogamename 11 yep. They do. I'm observing it for a while. I have shaky hands when taking a video but when I review the vid, the shakiness was gone and nothing but a smooth vid. And the camera was a bit zoomed in compared to the camera in photo mode.

    • @shngwnds2005
      @shngwnds2005 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +See Jin Yee yep. I was actually referring to digital stabilizer. And not the actual OIS likewise to the 6s plus.

    • @sandeephyd4921
      @sandeephyd4921 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kyla Salonga
      hahahahahaha....that's not the reason why video zoomed in, OIS has nothing to do with it.....its because of something called as "CROP FACTOR", every smartphone camera has it.....
      normally pictures and videos will have more pixel density in the center and as you go towards edges, the pixel density gets less, so the software thinks, better to crop off those less sharper edges to make it look good.....thats If you do recording in 4K recording, more pixels are used at the center and edges are cropped even more and video zooming is even more whereas if you record in HD the video is wider

    Not having OIS was a deal breaker for me and Moto X Play. Not that I take a ton of pictures but on the few occasions that I do they are always, indoors, low light shots. From the samples I saw, OIS makes a big difference on that phone's camera). There were other deal breakers but for now I'm sticking with my trusty good ol' LG G2 until something else comes along (come on Idol 4S or something like that :p)

      +Jai Bothra Just handled noth the G3 and the G4 that, for some odd reason, I had the notion they were ridiculously big. Well, they're big but not a lot more than the G2. They are on the very limit of my one hand operation ability and probably a bit beyond... but not nearly as bad as I thought. Have to find out how the battery life on the G4 really is, they are cheap and getting cheaper nowadays. Some people report having rubbish battery with it, some state 4 and above 5 SOT, so I don't know what's what. GSM Arena gives it half the battery life of the G2 and that would be a major downgrade for me.
