I’m not even joking Rukia is one of the best written characters I’ve ever seen in Shonen her dynamic with Ichigo Kain Byakuya n Renji are all beautiful her backstory her fights with Aarenerio n As Nodt some of the best written female fights in Shonen
If it wasn't for her BEAUTIFUL bankai the as nodt fight was an asspull, the entire side of rukia's fight with as nodt was horrible, he on the other hand was as magnificent as her bankai.
Naruto is single handedly responsable for the idea that anime in general has bad female characters and is entirely on Sakura. The rest of the female cast just suffers from being well side cast in Naruto. I don't even think it would be a problem if the editorial didn't convince Kishimoto to add the fucking love triangle.

She won 2 fights on her own. Aaroniero and some non factor arrancar. She was a absolute useless damsel in the whole SS arc. She was saved by byakuya vs as nodt. Saved by ichigo vs yammy. Saved by orihime after grimmjow made a donut out of her. Lost vs riruka. Saved by byakuya vs zommarie. Saved by byakuya vs gerard. Orihime was the one who kickstarted giving ichigos powers back.

During the as nodt fight if byakuya didnt interfered than she would have been killed since as nodts power affected her already. I mentioned how orihime kickstarted the whole spirit thing since most of the time rukia is the one who gets all the credit. Just look at it. The whole SS including rukia and renji didnt gave a shit about how ichigo felt until orihime showed up in SS and talked to rukia.Also i didnt underrated rukias role in those events, didnt i?

There's more connections but, that's time wasting. I won't deny she'd be dead without byakuya talking to her, but byakuya would've died if it was just him too, rukia was the one perfectly equipped to deal with "the fear". As for getting back the power, I haven't rewatched that arc in a while, so if I were to give an educated answer without bias, I'd need to see it again
just because its subtle and you dont get it doesnt mean it isnt brilliant. Kubo has such masterful character writing when it comes to any character he puts the time into. He doesnt slam the details in your face but lets you know what hes trying to convey through visual storytelling. The characters are some of the most realistically written in any anime especially shounen. Thats the reason why so many people think bleach has poorly written characters cause they dont give you constant flashbacks, they dont overblow the reality of the situation and the development of the characters happens over time and not because they experience one massive event that for any real human would be overwhelmingly devastating or difficult to process

Also, Kubo needs to know that alot of people are surface readers & are forgetful, so i think he should have reminded readers more. Constant reminders helps people remember certain things, and forces the audience to connect & makes certain scenes more emotional. Naruto anime masters the art of ""constant reminders"" 😂🤣. By the time the story ends, we can all remember everything about the characters 😂🤣. The characters in bleach are amazing, the story, the themes, the history, the females, the ethnic & cultural diversity, the foreshadowings, etc. 👍
