I'm glad to see someone else has this philosophy! I actually keep a Pinterest board of photo-spheres from google earth for place inspiration. It's a cost effective way to sort of "stand" there and describe what you're seeing, thought obviously you still have to bring some imagination to the table for the rest of the senses.

A lot of very cool ideas in this video! I am trying to make my own setting heavily inspired by the post roman 500-700ad period in England.
