Main issue with the game is eco and unbalanced colossus. Humans need a smaller cheaper harvester, because you can simply destroy it with a wasp by crawling inside it as the doors open for any user player. And the fact that aliens have multiple shrimps that are cheap af to mass spam is another issue. Building space is always the humans main issue, and access to baterium is another huge issue not being able to get the resources in a timely fashion, also shit getting stuck 24/7
I have used the Defiler melee. First, against buildings while mopping up a base. Then someone TPed below me. Naturally, I slapped the bejesus out of him. It's also when I learned infantry cannot outrun the Defiler.
The scorpion could be enlarged a little bit and given armored pincers. Think the Queen having special guard units would be cool too, maybe a Mantis Shrimp kinda thing? Hypersonic punching machines. Wonder if there'll be ways to gain more queens, like egg stashes that act as extra lives if they're not destroyed, perhaps in the late game.
I think the biggest problems for melee units is that you can't surprise the enemy because they can see you on the Minimap and the auto Aim bot from A.I. Units in any direction. Or is there an in game solution for this?

Royal Guards golith looking but a bit more manuverable with bigger shield like forelimbs that block out more dmg easier to protect the queen maybe

They need to make the aliens fps not move when you crawl over objects and climb up stuff like natural selection 2
