Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference: 0:00 - Intro 1. 0:15 {When Should I NOT Take Communion?} When should a believer NOT take communion? Is finding myself repenting of the same sin over and over and having an ongoing struggle with the same sin a reason not to? 2. 18:56 {Can A False Prophet Glorify God?} My parents sit under a pastor who claims to have a prophecy from God almost weekly. He preaches in Jesus’ name and glorifies God, but his prophecies are always totally wrong or incredibly vague. Can a man who glorifies God also prophesy falsely? 3. 24:09 {Christ & H.S. In Us = Modalism?} At the end of Colossians, it talks about Christ in us, and in Galatians, it talks about the Spirit of His son in our hearts crying out “Abba, Father.” That sounds like the Holy Spirit, but is it Modalism to call Christ in you the Holy Spirit? 4. 27:57 {Animal Sacrifices in Millen. Kingdom?} Why will there be animal sacrifices in the Millennial Kingdom? 5. 35:25 {Should Slaves have Run Away from Masters?} In light of Ephesians 6:5-8 and Colossians 3: 22-23, was it wrong for African slaves to run away from their masters? 6. 42:48 {Do Our Prayers Need to be Specific?} People have been saying with increasing frequency, "Make your prayers specific.” I’m wondering why I keep hearing this lately. Is this biblical? 7. 46:40 {Did Jesus Have a Sin Nature?} Was Jesus the biological son of Mary? If so, how did He not inherit a sin nature? 8. 50:49 {Does Heaven Last for Eternity?} Do we live in Heaven for eternity, or will it be a finite time period (Isaiah 65: 20)? 9. 54:50 {Share Our Burdens?} Galatians 6:2 says to carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ, but verse 5 says that each person should carry their own load. Should we share our burdens or carry our own? 10. 59:13 {Reject the Church = Reject Christianity?} If I reject the Church as an institution, do I automatically reject the Christian faith? 11. 1:02:00 {Committed Relationships as Good as Marriage?} How would you answer claims that “committed sexual relationships” have everything good that a marriage has? What’s the essence of marriage that withstands infertility/impotence/distance, etc.? 12. 1:06:09 {Recovering from Works Based Thinking} I left the Hebrew Israelite movement 3 years ago, and since then, I’ve been struggling with my walk. I know we have God’s grace, but I was so used to doing works that I feel lost now. Any suggestions? 13. 1:11:05 {Laws, Islam & Executing Apostates} Looking at Deuteronomy 13:6-10, is the apostasy law similar to Muslims? And is it inherently immoral for an apostate to be put to death because of their beliefs, according to the Old Testament? 14. 1:16:48 {Was Jesus’ Body Broken For Us?} What are your thoughts on when people say “This is the body of Christ, broken for you.” To me, this is not accurate, as Jesus was not “broken” for us (no bones broken like the Passover lamb). 15. 1:18:54 {Are Non-Believers Always Wrong?{ Some Christians act like non-believers are inherently untrustworthy or dishonest, like they shouldn't be taken seriously. This feels really wrong. Can you please help me find biblical teaching on this? 16. 1:23:01 {Our Bodies during the Millennial Reign} What kind of body will each "group" of people have during the Millennial Reign? I know the previously dead will receive knew bodies, and those that die in God during the Tribulation will get new bodies. 17. 1:24:17 {The “Prize” in Philippians} What is the prize of the upward call" in Philippians 3: 14? 18. 1:27:56 {Raising Children w/Unbelieving Family} Is it wrong that I don’t want to raise my son around my unbelieving family members? They can even be hostile to the faith. I even have a transgender niece, and my wife and I don’t want our son around that. 19. 1:30:49 {Praising the Holy Spirit?} A friend said that Scripture never calls us to praise the Holy Spirit despite numerous worship songs and the Doxology saying otherwise. Is he wrong? Should we only worship the Father and the Son? 20. 1:33:36 {The Bible Harmonized w/Psychology?} How do we harmonize the Bible and psychology? I have some leaders that try to diagnose people’s sin through the lens of psychology and not Scripture (things like compulsive lying, laziness, etc.).
My husband was raised Catholic but doesn’t attend mass regularly. I noticed he never takes communion so I asked why. He said it’s because he won’t go to confession and you’re supposed to go to confession before communion.
That first answer was incredibly powerful. I'm an ex-Mormon, and have frequently felt like taking communion was a self appointed "temple recommend interview." Your reminder that NONE of us come before God based on our righteousness nor do we remain there based on our own efforts was so uplifting. Thank you, Mike.
Don't the Mormons have some substitute for communion? I recall that they had temples, sometimes with a figure like Lucifer on top.... Mmh... The 'light carrier". I smell a rat there... Lucifer anyone? Well, I can think that it is very confusing for ex-Mormons to 'start over'... But I can confirm that it is also for most Christians like that. Those that had a Christian upbringing have to realize that it isn't the real deal, but needs to be crucified with Christ so the truth can resurrect from it.
@@metapolitikgedanken612 The Bible, but actually God changed my mind and opened my eyes, and once that happens, and the truth becomes so obvious, there's no way one can believe a lie.😊
That's saddening though. 😢 Because Christ wants us to do our part to remain saved. He saved us initially without our having to work but once were saved, we have to endure, we have to keep the faith, we have to love, and so forth, to remain saved.
Thank you for your conversation on communion. I think many of us are taught wrongly about it and therefore feel as the questioner does, that we shouldn’t take communion. It helps to understand the context of the situation in Corinth. I will approach communion now with a joy to be part of the body of Christ, that we’re all celebrating Christ together rather than the sad somberness of the fact that I’ll never be righteous enough. With this understanding, it takes the focus off of me and gets it back on Christ where it’s supposed to be. Praise be to God!
Agreed! A pastor once taught this in a very judgemental manner and I spent many months worrying if I was doomed to condemnation because I took communion, despite not being holy enough. So grateful we stand in the righteousness of Christ Jesus and not our own. 🕊️
You are so right in thinking that many of you are taught wrongly about Communion. Trust me when I tell you that Winger did nothing to correct any of those wrong teachings. Why do Protestants want to celebrate Communion anyway? Isn't it just another needless ritual that does nothing for the believer? All Protestants, Winger included really miss the mark on the doctrine of Communion. Jesus is the New Passover of the New Covenant. Which means that the New Passover must be greater than the Old Passover of the Old Covenant. The Lamb of the Old Passover had to be eaten in order for the first born sons to be spared death. This prefigures the Lamb of the New Covenant Passover, who is Jesus Christ. When we are Baptized or Born Again, we become first born sons of God - spiritually. In order for the first born sons of the New Covenant to be spared a spiritual death and to live life eternal, then the Lamb of the New Passover must be eaten. This is typology. Jesus said, "I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh......UNLESS you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; 54 he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me. 58 This is the bread which came down from heaven, not such as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live for ever.” Protestants never consider the bread and juice of their communion to be the Lamb of God - the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Christ is the sacrificed Lamb of God upon the Altar of the Cross. The Cup of His Blood - the Blood of the Lamb - is the sign of the New Covenant just as the blood of the lamb on the doorposts was a sign of the Old Covenant Passover: "The blood shall be a sign for you, upon the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague shall fall upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt." (Ex. 12:13) And Jesus said, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood..." Only the first born sons who partake of the New Passover meal will be spared from spiritual death. Plain old bread and juice won't do it my friend. Eating a piece of bread and drinking a sip of juice in Protestant communion is not partaking of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. For this a Priest is required. I hope that you will pray about all of this. God bless.
@@purgatoreanbut the catholic church also uses bread and wine/grape juice it's the same thing unless you consider that it's like made "special" because of the priest's blessing
@@purgatorean thank you for your lengthy response. I don’t trust any Catholic teachings. When I hear the priest say that only Catholics can partake of communion and only as long as they have gone to church at least once this month and confession sometime in the last year, something tells me that’s wrong. We are too consistently repentant of our sins, but one to another so that others may pray for us, not so some guy in a booth can tell me how many blasphemous Hail Mary’s to say. I will always trust Mike Winger over a Catholic when it comes to theology and biblical thinking. I don’t agree with him on everything (I’m a Calvinist) but Mike is a blessing to the online Christian community. If you care to learn more about your heretical Catholic faith, look up Anthony Roger’s most recent live video. He spent several hours explaining to Muslims why Catholicism was wrong. And by the way, there’s no such thing as purgatory. Everybody will die with unconfessed sin, but if your are covered in the blood of Christ, you will be judged as righteous. Nobody will can or will be perfect enough to get into heaven. Only Christ and he is our propitiation.
I've abstained from partaking in communion on various occasions, deeming myself unworthy. It's been a merciful answer from God. Praise be to God forever and ever🙏💝🙏💝🙏💝🙏💝🙏
We must remember Mike isn’t infallible. I think he’s wrong on communion. The Bible says to leave your sacrifice at the altar and go make right with your brother. Communion is the sacrifice at the altar. If you have not made right with your brother in your heart, maybe don’t take communion.
@@disguisedcentennial835there you have a valid point. So, given you get the conviction to make right with Person X in your pre-communal self-examination, you go to that person instead and offer peace (or whatever is missing in that affair). However, the result of that attempt is not in your hands, and your conscience does not depend to their response. Just writing this to clarify: If the reconciliation is no longer being hindered from your side, return to the altar in good faith.
I know you don't like Catholsism but as a young Catholic I was taught to pray on my way up to receive communion. Lord I am not worthy to receive you, speak but the word and my soul shall be healed.
Pastor Mike, thank you so much for your ministry. I rarely catch you live, but listen late on Friday nights while I'm doing art. The combination just calms my soul. My 17 year old son Reece (he is a believer) sits across the foyer from me playing video games while you're on and just when I think he's not listening due to his headphones, he'll repeat something funny that you've said and laugh. I'm getting so much from your 20 questions, but you're probably also planting seeds in him to grow in Christ just like when I would hear Charles Stanley in the background at my parents house when I was his age. The sound of Pastor Stanley's voice always brings my back home and gives me peace in his teachings as an adult. I wonder if my son will watch you in his adult years and find the same. I hope so. I do know this, he loves your shirts. 🙂 Again, thanks for all you do. I really appreciate you digging into scripture and also telling us when you don't know the answer to something. And I will be praying for you and your family member with the health issue. God bless, Mike.
Mike I just want to thank you for your very clear and thoughtful teachings. One example: Few teachers highlight the Bible’s teaching of sin while managing to balance the seriousness of sin without making the listener feel condemned. Whenever I hear you teach on sin, I am once again reminded how serious it is, and how much I need deliverance from it, yet you also never fail to remind me that we are never condemned under Christ and that God always wishes for us to accept his offer of forgiveness.
Very much appreciate your answer on communion, Brother Mike. I learned from Dr. Gordon Fee (Bible translator and a professor of New Testament studies) that what was going on at the Corinthian church regarding the Lord's supper was that some of them were getting drunk and/or eating all the food. So there was gluttony and drunkenness going on at their love feasts (communion) which, obviously, was greatly dishonoring to the Lord. By "exam yourselves" Paul didn't mean "make sure there isn't any sin in your life" rather he meant (basically) "make sure you're taking the Lord's supper in a worthy manner; not guzzling all the wine and glorking down all the food so that no one else gets anything to eat". Man, if I had known this as a young believer it would have saved me a cargo ship load of stress. lol The Lord bless the all of yas!
Hello Pastor Mike Winger, thank you for answering my question, even though it was a difficult question. Indeed, I reject the authorities of the Roman Catholic Church because the claims they make deviate from the teachings of the Bible. I have a very difficult time with that and have therefore made very wrong decisions. Yet certain channels have woken me up again to read more biblical texts, among other things. It helped me open my eyes. Greetings from Belgium.
Bless you in your journey. It is sometimes hard to distinguish between an organization & their teachings, & the Biblical church. If you can find a small group of people to study with (even online if you can’t find local, although it’s second-best), that may be a good start.
I appreciate your answer to question 8 (Does Heaven Last for Eternity). I clearly remember the first time this concept sank in for me was while singing Amazing Grace: "When we've been there 10,000 years... we've no less days to sing your praise then when we first begun". It's hard to comprehend on this side of heaven. Every day, every MINUTE, that passes is one less that we have before we die, and we can never get it back. There will be no such urgency in heaven.
Thank you so much, Mike for clarifying the issue of Communion and how the Corinthian Christians misused it. I always thought it had to do with them either sinning or being flippant about sin when they took it, but now I understand what was going on, so I really appreciate your insight. May God continue to bless you and your ministry. 🙏🙏
Thank you for this explanation. I have struggled with feeling unworthy of taking communion for 43 years. Communion Sunday was always terrifying for me. I feel so unworthy but I have this excitement for the next communion Sunday!
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
Every time I watch these Mike Winger QandA videos I tell myself I’d like the video 20 times over if I could. Thank you so much for the work you do in the kingdom and I think God for you Mr. Winger. God bless you and those who seek God’s word and wisdom with Love. May we all, in Jesus name, Glorify God on this side of eternity 🙏🏽
There are so many that teach scripture that do not know scripture. Even fewer teachers that are also wise. Mike is both knowledgeable and wise. Thank you, Mike, for the ministry you offer.
Knowledge of scripture is one thing. And indeed many are ignorant, even if they studied theology. But knowing scripture isn't enough. One needs to Spirit of Truth to understand it correctly.
@@metapolitikgedanken612YES. 100%. The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. In terms of Mike, he’s partial imo. He reads scripture plainly vs theologically. Literally inferred vs exegetical context. He misses scripture of election and believe human will has power in competition with Gods power. Its a dangerous line. When hes confronted theologically hes unteachable. Proverbs 26:12 ESV Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him. Proverbs 18:2 ESV A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.
Wow, Mike Winger! I’m fairly new to you & have just watched questions 1 & 2 (communion & falsely prophesying pastor) & I’m amazed at how you put your finger on what really matters & what is really being said in scripture.. things I never realized after decades of bible, church, etc. God bless & keep you. His hand is undoubtedly upon you.
Pastor Mike, we are truly blessed by your work for Jesus Christ. I have a very stressful job and I always listen to your videos during my breaks at work. I cannot even begin to put into words how grateful I am for the peace I have found through our Lord by your ministry. I find myself praying more than I ever have before, and I truly feel the peace of God during my chaotic days. My own father is a pastor, and I live far away from him right now. I still talk to him about my studies in the Bible, but while I can't talk to him everyday, I feel like I talk to you too now thanks to these videos. Your approach is similar to his, you pay such close attention to the language just like he does. Thank you for giving yourself so wholly to the Lord so that we all might be blessed by the work you do. May God bless you and your family forever and ever. You and yours are always in my prayers. Thank you so much, I can never thank you enough, and I can never thank God enough for your ministry.
Thanks for your hard work Pastor Mike. We had communion this Sunday and my husband (our church Pastor) reiterated the points you made. It's important that believers understand what the communion is and isn't and that they don't abstain because of a feeling of unworthiness.
Unfortunately pastor Mike got this wrong. There isn't a single early church father that believed what he does about the Eucharist. As a Baptist he has a symbolic sense of the Eucharist and that's false. Paul gave his warning bc it's real. You can't get sick or die from a symbol. Christ NEVER said it was symbolic or that it represents his body and blood. He said it WAS his body which makes sense if you blaspheme his body then yes you damn yourself.
Wow. Question 1 was eye opening. We were COMMANDED to do this. You’re so right, and I’ve misunderstood this for so long. Thanks for this. This is why I enjoy your videos.
Your final comment about the Bible is something I’m experiencing daily. It truly is an amazing collection. Thank you for guiding me to the beauty of the word in my daily life
Mike: “Perhaps a clumsy way to put it is…” -*Proceeds to state an elegant and beautiful illustration of the simultaneous humanity and deity of Christ* Thanks, as usual, Pastor Mike!
Hi Mike and team, greetings from the UK. I was amazed to hear your answer to Ruxy, who was leaving the Hebrew Roots movement and struggling in her journey. My wife, also called Roxy, suffers extreme religious OCD and is drawn to legalistic doctrines due to her anxiety. She is receiving medical treatment and she has made a lot of progress, but it is difficult. Your answer was absolutely beautiful and gave her great comfort. Thank you. I listen to all your Q&As and that was the best answer I've ever heard from you. It is deeply appreciated.
Love coming on this channel everyday and seeing that subscriber count going up 1k almost everyday!! Means more and more folks getting amazing teachings! Can’t wait to see it hit 1 million. Great stuff Pastor Mike keep up the great work! God bless!! 🙏🏼
So happy to see this about communion addressed! This last Lord’s Supper I was wondering this very thing. Had to repent of selfishness and hoped that to be okay to turn around and take communion that same service. Our pastor takes it seriously and gives pause for us to pray and go to the altar if needed prior to partaking. He tells us that it is on us whether or not we and our already saved and baptized children should partake. So there is definitely an awareness of the solemn time it is as believers.
Thank you for unfolding the truth of communion… I may have to watch that and hear it again! Had to stop the replay and mention Q-2 and how important it is to recognize the ‘style’ of a church doesn’t necessarily make it ‘spiritual’ or godly. I agree- I’ve seen the generational ways of performing (for lack of a better term) in the way that’s expected over time and becomes entrenched in a denomination whose people actually BELIEVE that’s the way it’s supposed to be!- yet when the truth is not being spoken or taught, it’s just a form… a stage where people perform. I have to guard against falling into a sort of complacency that this is just the way we do ‘church’ and I play my part by performing acceptably. Don’t know if I’m wording this very well, but wanted to say I appreciate the way you addressed the pastor in error. Thank you, Mike.
I didn't get to watch this livestream yesterday, but you answered several things I have wondered about! God bless you, and thank you for explaining His Word!
The analogy you made of the shame at nakededness in the garden and God's clothing Adam and Eve compared to our shame when we realize our "naked" sin nature and God's clothing us in His righteousness was beautiful!
Thank you for this ministry, Mr. Winger. I have learned so much tuning in to these and I appreciate how that's helping me to grow in Christ. Please keep making videos because your impact is far wider than you can know. God bless.
Hi Mike / Mike's team. Question 1 definitely resonates with me. Many times I've not taken part in the communion because I have been a bit uncertain about what this passage means. I've been thinking a bit about me not being worthy at all. Also it hasn't been a big struggle with sin for me that has stopped me, but more that I see there's something here I don't understand and I really don't wanna do it the wrong way and instead I put it in a "box" together with all the other things I ask for clarity on when reading the bible. After I now got some clarity on it, I realize it's the pick and choose and mixup bible verses culture I grew up in that is playing tricks on my mind. I have been uncertain what it means because I didn't properly read the context and understood it. One could read "unworthy manner", and then let that color the rest of the verses there. Or one could read on and learn what this unworthy manner really is. Even tho english definitely isn't my first language I do a lot of the bible study in english. What confused me for the longest time (in english bible) was the part that says "Discerning the body". I think subconsciously I've been thinking I don't really know what that means and I've just let the "unworthy manner" color the rest. Like, I totally missed it. And when I go to my Norwegian bible, it kinda made a bit more sense to me what discerning the body actually means. Thank you very much for your efforts. Your ministry has been a huge blessing. There's nobody here (i mean around me locally) that is even remotely teaching reading the bible in context. It has brought so much clarity to read it properly and understand it properly - in ways I didn't think was possible before. And it also made studying the bible exciting for the first time in almost 40 years. Again thank you. And I love the t-shirt. Angry sun. :)

Thank you brother Mike. it's about 9:30 PM California. time I'm watching this. It's been a real blessing It always is. Thank you for your prayer. And as always, thank you for your insight and wisdom and sharing the word of God with us. I am truly blessed by your ministry and by you sharing your heart. of what God has taught you.
Mike as a believer who is constantly looking to inspect my own faith I find your consistent approach to using scriptures in the context they were written as incredibly powerful and helpful. It’s really easy to google scriptures about what your feeling and bend them to current circumstances so I have a real appreciation for the way you are careful with the context.
May God bless you Pst. Mike and everyone that helps make these teachings happen. They help me examine and try to correct faulty conclusions I myself have come to or have accepted which may not be true. Also, I learn of things I previously did not know(or even think to think) so may God bless the people who ask real questions. NOT a question please Moderators I know this isn't material to the teachings but when Pst. Mike was going through the different nations outside of Israel and went "Ji-Jedudidebi-bites" it made me so happy.
The respect to be given the Body and Blood of Christ -if you love Him -is to do all that He commanded and preach His Gospel. Matthew 7:21; John 14:15; Rev 12:17;
@Mike Winger I believe it is based on tradition and how the word " Unworthily " has been seen as being related to your state of sinning. I believe that you are spot on about yielding to God, and also understanding what it means.. Be Encouraged..
I pray the lords prayer and a prayer to plead the blood of Jesus over myself, family, job in the morning and at night I pray more specific prayers and pray in tongues. I feel blessed beyond measure. I don't see anything wrong with general prayers.
Although many Cristians do not study scripture, and have relied on what they were taught....it is also true that at times we over-think some things. And the question of Christ in me, and the Holy Spirit in me, is an over-think. Good explanation, Mike.
I just wanted to say that I've watched you since the Jehovahs witnesses were knocking at your door. I'm sure it's weird to have people like you and not even know them. To the main point though, your content was for sure a stone in the foundation of my faith, not the cornerstone 😁 but definitely a stone. I also wanted to say that I love you brother. That may not mean a much because God has given me a love for all my brothers in Christ but still I think it should be said. Lastly I have been and will continue to pray for the peace and will of God for you and your family specifically. I heard you might be going through some hard things and we all need prayer. Love you man, God bless.
To receive the Eucharist, you have to be in a state of grace. You don't have to drink from the cup, because the Eucharist is the Body, Blood , Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ
Paster Mike, You make it sound so easy and I cannot agree with "same old sins" and my list is huge" ok I don't know where I'm going with that but I'm in the category of "ok Heavenly Father I know by now you have had enough of ME" and I struggle and I want to be Godly so much and FAIL! I even had no communion for two years cause I'm just not worthy enough or ever will be.
Mike Winger thank you for your explanation (point 1 when should a Christian not receive communion) of the issue from a reformed stance. A comment on your statement on the Catholic position. The refusal of communion to a public figure is where their public statements and actions are contrary to the teaching of the RC Church, and so cause scandal the Body of Christ. Similar actions have occurred in south Italy where public members of the mafia received Holy Communion. With ordinary people, though they may be known to have committed a mortal sin, it’s possible that theyhave received the sacrament of reconciliation and so may receive Holy Communion and so should be given communion. If the reality is that they are in a state of sin, by receiving communion they will pour additional judgment on themselves.
Q15 After being in the hospital system I agree about a doctor not needing to be saved in order to do a great job. My specialist doctor is not a believer but is the best member of my health care team. However, I will say many health decisions require wisdom not just smarts. There are some types of doctors that I will not receive care from because they lack the spiritual maturity to assist me in wise stewardship of my medical case.
Wow, the amount of effort and work put into the video descriptions is amazing. Usually people couldn’t give the descriptions a second thought. Especially the time stamps for the play head. I wish I made content that drips with so much information and love for the viewer that the descriptions got more work out into them.
The problem I see with using Ezekiel to prove the claim that the temple and animal sacrifices will return in the future, but that they won’t be for a sin offering, only a “memorial to Jesus” is that Ezekiel actually says that the sacrifices he sees in his vision are “for a sin offering”. Ezekiel 43:19,21,25.
I am for you Mike. You have the answers at your finger tips but you are afraid to go deeper because you see yourself converting into Catholicism if you decide. I see you eventually seeing the light and truth of Catholicism and becoming Catholic at the end. You're already on the right path
In my teens as a new Christian, I found it so easy to share my burdens with Christian brothers and sisters, and usually they were more than willing to offer prayer and encouragement. Now more than two decades later, I'm finding this to be less of the case. As a more mature Christian and person in general, I've learned that when they offer their help, it's not usually genuine, but just common courtesy. My question is, does this usually happen because as we get older we have more responsibilities and less time for others? Or is this more of a reflection of the times we're living in?
I find, in my life, that all the accumulated let downs and hurts make me less likely to share or ask for help. Also, at least in the US, we are pretty individualistic and thus think we should handle most things by ourselves, or maybe with family. And a lot of pastors here don't mention or stress the "bodiness" of the church. And last but not least... selfishness! I think "Oh no, so and so is going to dump a big issue on me, if I share one with her. That will be difficult and take a lot of time, care and energy. Therefore I will not share my problem." Our church has a prayer request email send-out, so we pray, but I don't know how much further other people respond. (I'm the wife of the name on the account. I don't know how to add a new account, or find if I already have one) 😊
I did a study on this preparing for meeting communion in my church about how the early church viewed communion And Wednesday that really stood out was first how seriously we're about it and how often they took it But that when a new person would come from another church they would have letters from their church confirming that they were in good standing with the Lord
Episode 83 - Question 1 re: the purpose of man. Westminster Shorter Catechism Q&A - 1 What is the chief *end* of man? Answer: Man's chief end is to glorify God (a) and to enjoy him forever (b) Scripture references: (a) Ps. 86:9; Isa. 60:21; Rom. 11:36; I Cor. 6:20; I Cor. 10:31; Rev. 4:11 (b) Ps. 16:5-11; Ps. 144:15; Isa. 12:2; Luke 2:10; Phil 4:4; Rev. 21:3-4 I got this from p. 411 of "Creeds, Confessions, & Catechisms: A Reader's Edition" Edited by Chad Van Dixhoorn,
1:24:17 The prize is Christ Himself, and after a victorious christian walk, to be able to partner with Him to rule and reign in the Millenial Kingdom. It also refers to having a better resurrection, and outstanding resurrection as a prize, a reward for your endurance and faithfulness. Paul was already saved of course, but he was exerting all his effort for future rewards.
I actually really really love question 8. It makes me think of lots more wonderful questions. Like we will never get to a point where we can say, yup I have lived forever. We wont ever check that box, but God has has that box checked already, right? Idk, I feel like even understanding that question is like miles above our pay grade. But it also does a good job at highlighting just how big, complex and powerful our lord is.
Both 2,000 year old Churches (the Orthodox and Catholics) believe in the Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. God had Moses construct an altar table covered in gold, and He required a continual offering of Bread of the Face or Bread of the Presence of God be presented to Him. Exodus 25:30 "30And place the Bread of the Presence on the table before Me at all times."
Thankyou for another great teaching mike. Been listening to these 20 questions while i work on the farm all summer.. all caught up now. Found your channel on a reddit page. The OP had great words about you. As do i. Keep em comming!! Blessings from british colombia, Canada
7:44 The problem is the ground isn’t defiled. The ground is doing what God tells it to do, which is being ground. By that logic, we shouldn’t take the Eucharist, which is obviously incompatible with the Eucharist.
Yeshua / Jesus is our High priest who is our intercessor. We are righteous because of him … we rely on him alone . I’m uncomfortable relying on any organisation.. for assurances.. I prefer a Relationship directly with my Lord .. who tells me I am his .. I am his church his Israel .. adopted as a Son forever Ric
To question number two. I’m a product of a church run by a man named Todd fielder. He told everyone he was a prophet. He told my mothers parents that God told him that she had to marry my father. She spent 20 years married to a monster, my childhood was tumultuous and hard. I hated God, because how on earth could that be ok? How could my abusive father who claimed to be a Christian be saved ? I know now he never was. I know now how fearsome Gods judgment will be on my father and Todd if they do not repent.
I have many reasons to love my brother Mike, but it tears me up to watch him teach such heresy about Communion. You can tell there's a part of him that knows that what he's doing is wrong. @14:27 when he cuts away from scripture so that the audience doesn't sit there reading "This is my body" in red letters while he's teaching his heresy. Readers, please reconsider Mike's view. Communion, the transubstantiated body and blood of Christ, is a wonderful, beautiful, mysterious gift that He gives us. Praise the Lord our God, Jesus Christ.
I get your thinking, and I have a question I always want to ask of you don't mind, not to offend you, but if that is true it was his body, what was his body that was standing there? And as Mike said why would you not think the wine is not a cup? Jesus said this cup is my blood.
@@dentonhahn2907 For your first question, I admit that I don't understand. I think you have a typo in your grammar. Maybe you can rephrase. To your second question, because I'm not stupid and neither is Jesus. You ought not to mock Him. John 6 says his flesh is true food and his blood is true drink. He doesn't say his metal cup is true drink. We're not stupid and we should not mock each other, especially not when the goal is to bolster your heresy which was invented in the 1500s, completely unheard of in the Christian world for over a thousand years.
@wheatandtares-xk4lp sure, first off I didn't not call you stupid, I ask a question, sorry if you are offended. I know Jesus is not stupid, which is why it is impossible for me to assume he ment the bread to be his actual body when he is standing there speaking to them in his body. What about when Jesus said i am the door, or i am the light, or water? Do you see them as a symbolic reference, or literally? I don't think it was invented, rather it was going back to a more clear understanding than that of catholicism, im sorry was I supposed to take that as mockery?
@@dentonhahn2907 so when he said he flesh is true food and his blood is true drink and some of his disciples mocked him and left him in John 6:60, why didn't he chase after them and say "oh no guys you misunderstood me!" And when Jesus asks Peter if he's going to leave too, because of being offended about apparent cannibalism, Peter says "you have the words of eternal life, who else can we go to?". That is how Jesus expects us to receive all his mysteries. Like children. Remember, all Christians believed in transubstantiation before the 1500s all the way back to Christ. There is no earlier view. It doesn't exist.
@@dentonhahn2907 also I need to answer your other questions. Is Christ a door, water, and and light? Yes. Those are not symbolic at all. They are completely and utterly literal. In the same way the church is the body of Christ, his hands feet eyes and ears. This is not a metaphor. Not at all. We are unified in communion with him physically and spiritually. This is a central mystery to how salvation actually happens. You are a new creation in baptism. And in him. Literally. In him. Bodily. The mystical and physical world overlap.
Well, yes and no, "this" refers to the blood, not the cup. Because they believe the wine is the literal blood of Christ, and christ said his blood was the new covenant, it then follows that they believe the wine "becomes" a symbol of the new covenant through literal transformation of wine into blood
@@sameash3153 When they say this, they mean the blood in the cup. They don't believe it's a symbol. They believe it transforms into the actual blood of Christ.
@Maria_O I said that in my comment. The wine literally transforms into the blood. But Pastor Mike was talking about the wine becoming the new covenant, and there, the blood is "a sign of the new covenant", as it is referred to in the liturgy. So it's like this: Wine -> blood (literal/bodily) -> new covenant (by faith). They would say the wine is blood, but they would not say it is the new covenant, they would say it is a sign of the new covenant, and that the sign is materially the actual blood of christ (as opposed to wine)
This might come as a shocker to you but all Christians believed in the Real Presence in the Eucharist for the first 1500 years of Christianity. Try reading the early Church Fathers.
Hey Mike, what I understanding here - is that ;taking communion is not just showing up to eat bread and drink wine. But A TRUE LIFESTYLE MUST BE MAINTAINED,LEADING UP TO THE ACTUAL TAKING OF THE LORD SUPPER.
Any being or event that has an objective start, like humans or existence in heaven, are "eternal", it is clearer to say everlasting. God alone is eternal.
Mike, I’m a huge fan. Thank you. I’m thinking we are all guilty of the body and blood of Christ, both by being born in sin as well as by our sins in word, thought and deed. During communion, and even daily life, we repeatedly acknowledge our hopelessness apart from Christ and express joy and gratitude for God’s gracious plan of redemption. So the concept of worthiness extends, I think, to a daily mindset, as opposed to only pausing to acknowledge this during formal communion. Could this mindset represent the Apostle Paul’s statement that he prays unceasingly? In other words, to be in a constant state of communion/communication. with God. Living in His presence, abiding in him, praying without ceasing…it all seems like the same process. If this only happens during a communion service, one misses out on a huge daily blessing.
Point 3, ALL three have full access to each other's motives, thoughts, actions. They are One in Goal, One in relationship, Three distinct Persons, One God (this English word does not correctly capture the intent of the meaning - any argument based on the English word will be inherently lacking in full meaning.)
*communion is actually the reading (eating) and the understanding, as well as, the application in one's life (digesting) what was taught in the Bible* it would actually take us years to fully understand the true & meaningful message of the Bible that, for me, is the true symbolic essence of what communion really is [not just the literal bread & wine]
Jesus gave communion to Judas who absolutely was unrepentent. If sin was a preventative issue, then he would have skipped Judas. Denying or thinking we individually have better discernment than Christ is a real problem, the communion is a blessing and, in the heart, should be bringing us closer to Christ.
- the communion, was directly, given to the disciples; as to remembrance in the promise of the coming Son/son of Man (the body and the blood so that of to coming and for in the Marriage Supper as)
Marriage is a public commitment to one person like baptism is a public commitment to Christ❤ Aka it should never be a secret that you're married or a Christian
I agree. A public commitment that was not based on sex. I mean, how long were these people living together before they decided to become committed?. Living together is sin.
I just commented on Episode 83 (I just viewed it) because I thought you might be more likely to see it here. Also, Heidelberg Catechism Q&A 1 is absolutely beautiful!
On 6 I've heard people say things like God cannot work if it's general. They act like God needs prayers to move or he doesn't know our hearts and we need to be really specific so he knows what we want. Can't imagine living like that, what kind of fear you'd be under.
Question 15 - I can speak from experience, as probably most of us can but I was naive about it at that time. I hired a guy to do some work around my house based on the fact that he was prior military AND a Christian (as am I on both accounts) with the idea that he would be trustworthy. I was sorely sorely mistaken.
Me too, same mistaken assumption. I guess we all need to be reminded that a declaration,"I am a Christain," is meaningless without behavioral evidence that one lives as a Christian.
@@sheilasmith7779 yes, and unless we know the person well, a simple interview won’t reveal the fruits. However, maybe prayer for discernment on my part would have been helpful. 🤷🏻♀️
Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference:
0:00 - Intro
1. 0:15 {When Should I NOT Take Communion?} When should a believer NOT take communion?
Thank you much, Pastor Mike and the mods. I always glean a lot from these and also, the timestamps are so helpful.
My husband was raised Catholic but doesn’t attend mass regularly. I noticed he never takes communion so I asked why. He said it’s because he won’t go to confession and you’re supposed to go to confession before communion.
Does Pastor Mike have a regular schedule for these livestreams? When is his next one, I’d love to catch it live.
@Joellllllllll try to turn on post notifications. I don't always get them but works for me. If you're on mobile of course.

Praise God for saving you out of Mormonism. I'm an ex-Mormon too.

What changed your mind?
@@metapolitikgedanken612 The Bible, but actually God changed my mind and opened my eyes, and once that happens, and the truth becomes so obvious, there's no way one can believe a lie.😊
That's saddening though. 😢 Because Christ wants us to do our part to remain saved. He saved us initially without our having to work but once were saved, we have to endure, we have to keep the faith, we have to love, and so forth, to remain saved.
When you say something like;
"we could do a whole study on that"
Just know, we want that study and are waiting patiently.
That is all, thanks
🤣👌🏻
58 This is the bread which came down from heaven, not such as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live for ever.”
Protestants never consider the bread and juice of their communion to be the Lamb of God - the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.
The Corinthians didn't take communion. They celebrated the Passover.
I've abstained from partaking in communion on various occasions, deeming myself unworthy. It's been a merciful answer from God. Praise be to God forever and ever🙏💝🙏💝🙏💝🙏💝🙏
Please remember Ephesians 2:8-9. Salvation is NOT by good works but by Grace lest any man may boast. (Salvation is by God's forgiveness.)
We must remember Mike isn’t infallible. I think he’s wrong on communion. The Bible says to leave your sacrifice at the altar and go make right with your brother. Communion is the sacrifice at the altar. If you have not made right with your brother in your heart, maybe don’t take communion.
@@disguisedcentennial835i agree when it comes to making peace with anyone or everyone you've done wrong.
Interesting. I agree with your point in grievances. However, Jesus made the sacrifice, not bread and wine.
Those are the words we say too as Anglicans. I think its beautiful.
Again, thanks for all you do.
I think "glorking" is my new favorite word!
Pastor Mike Winger. Thank you. I really admire your service for Jesus Christ.
He doesn’t serve the king. He serves the false triune god.
Amen.
So blessed by this channel, thank you Lord

Pastor Mike, we are truly blessed by your work for Jesus Christ. I have a very stressful job and I always listen to your videos during my breaks at work. I cannot even begin to put into words how grateful I am for the peace I have found through our Lord by your ministry.
Yup Mike Winger and Tim Mackie!
Thank you for guiding me to the beauty of the word in my daily life
Mike: “Perhaps a clumsy way to put it is…” -*Proceeds to state an elegant and beautiful illustration of the simultaneous humanity and deity of Christ*
Thanks, as usual, Pastor Mike!
I've struggled with this verse for communion for well over 20 years. This makes a lot of sense. Thanks very much Mike!
God bless you all brothers and sisters in Christ,I pray for the broken and hurting in this world🙏💗🇬🇧
Communion teaching is Excellent👌
Wow! I was praying about this same question about communion before you posted this video! Praise God for answering the question so quickly!
You are such a big help in my understanding of Biblical passages. Thank you so much. I know God will Bless you.
Praying for you and your wife
Thank you, Mike, for expanding in my soul the greater meanings of communion you taught me.
Love coming on this channel everyday and seeing that subscriber count going up 1k almost everyday!! Means more and more folks getting amazing teachings! Can’t wait to see it hit 1 million. Great stuff Pastor Mike keep up the great work! God bless!! 🙏🏼
What an inspired teacher
THANK YOU 🎶😇♥️
So happy to see this about communion addressed!
Thank you pastor Mike! I love your videos! Thank you for walking along with us through biblical thinking!! 😊
The analogy you made of the shame at nakededness in the garden and God's clothing Adam and Eve compared to our shame when we realize our "naked" sin nature and God's clothing us in His righteousness was beautiful!
Thank You Pastor Mike. You have been such a blessing in my life. You have helped me lean closer to the Lord. Also I like your shirt.
Amen and hallelujah ! Repentance is a everyday thing not just for church communion time as well.
I’m so horrible 🤦🏾♂️ But I love God and my savior , I want to be Good because the great I AM saved me !!
I really needed this ❤ understanding especially when you don’t come from a home of Christ thank you
Thank you for this ministry, Mr.

Thank you for the clarification on Q1, it was well needed. Thank you for all that you do. God bless you ❤
May God bless you Pst. Mike and everyone that helps make these teachings happen. They help me examine and try to correct faulty conclusions I myself have come to or have accepted which may not be true. Also, I learn of things I previously did not know(or even think to think) so may God bless the people who ask real questions.
NOT a question please Moderators
I know this isn't material to the teachings but when Pst. Mike was going through the different nations outside of Israel and went "Ji-Jedudidebi-bites" it made me so happy.
Thanks to God for teachers like Mike! 👍
The biblical explanation is so beautiful and profound❤ thank you Mike for you ministry!
That prayer was for me❤ thank you pastor for your ministry, God bless you and your house
Body and Blood is truly Christ, through transubstantiation, Mark 14 is literal. Peace be with you and God bless.
The respect to be given the Body and Blood of Christ -if you love Him -is to do all that He commanded and preach His Gospel. Matthew 7:21; John 14:15; Rev 12:17;
- the children of this world, are wiser in their generation; then in, so that of the children of light
Great teaching Mike.. May the Lord bless you as he teaches us through you and family to use your in ministry to your hearts desire. 🎉
Thank you Pastor Mike. ❤Australia 🇦🇺
@Mike Winger I believe it is based on tradition and how the word " Unworthily " has been seen as being related to your state of sinning. I believe that you are spot on about yielding to God, and also understanding what it means.. Be Encouraged..
Thank you for sharing with us. It was wonderful to hear.
I pray the lords prayer and a prayer to plead the blood of Jesus over myself, family, job in the morning and at night I pray more specific prayers and pray in tongues. I feel blessed beyond measure. I don't see anything wrong with general prayers.
@Mike Winger: I can’t wait for your verse-by-verse teaching on the book of Hebrews.
Although many Cristians do not study scripture, and have relied on what they were taught....it is also true that at times we over-think some things. And the question of Christ in me, and the Holy Spirit in me, is an over-think.
Good explanation, Mike.
As always, thank you, Pastor Mike!
I did a study on this preparing for meeting communion in my church about how the early church viewed communion
And Wednesday that really stood out was first how seriously we're about it and how often they took it
But that when a new person would come from another church they would have letters from their church confirming that they were in good standing with the Lord
Episode 83 - Question 1 re: the purpose of man. Westminster Shorter Catechism Q&A - 1 What is the chief *end* of man? Answer: Man's chief end is to glorify God (a) and to enjoy him forever (b)
Scripture references: (a) Ps. 86:9; Isa. 60:21; Rom. 11:36; I Cor. 6:20; I Cor. 10:31; Rev. 4:11
(b) Ps. 16:5-11; Ps. 144:15; Isa. 12:2; Luke 2:10; Phil 4:4; Rev. 21:3-4
I got this from p.
Thanks mike, cant wait for your future plans
Both 2,000 year old Churches (the Orthodox and Catholics) believe in the Presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
God had Moses construct an altar table covered in gold, and He required a continual offering of Bread of the Face or Bread of the Presence of God be presented to Him.
Exodus 25:30
"30And place the Bread of the Presence on the table before Me at all times."
I am his church his Israel .. adopted as a Son forever
Ric
God created TIME and space. We are spiritually dead before salvation.
Yes they do! I grew up Catholic. They literally say "this [lifting up the cup] is the new and everlasting covenant."
So it's like this:
Wine -> blood (literal/bodily) -> new covenant (by faith).
@yra1492 Neither of us denied that. I not only affirm real presence, but adore the eucharist.
Hey Mike, what I understanding here - is that ;taking communion is not just showing up to eat bread and drink wine. But
A TRUE LIFESTYLE MUST BE MAINTAINED,LEADING UP TO THE ACTUAL TAKING OF THE LORD SUPPER.
Any being or event that has an objective start, like humans or existence in heaven, are "eternal", it is clearer to say everlasting. God alone is eternal.
Thank you, Pastor Mike!
Mike, love your work.
*communion is actually the reading (eating) and the understanding, as well as, the application in one's life (digesting) what was taught in the Bible*
it would actually take us years to fully understand the true & meaningful message of the Bible
that, for me, is the true symbolic essence of what communion really is [not just the literal bread & wine]
Jesus gave communion to Judas who absolutely was unrepentent. If sin was a preventative issue, then he would have skipped Judas. Denying or thinking we individually have better discernment than Christ is a real problem, the communion is a blessing and, in the heart, should be bringing us closer to Christ.
- the communion, was directly, given to the disciples; as to remembrance in the promise of the coming Son/son of Man (the body and the blood so that of to coming and for in the Marriage Supper as)
Marriage is a public commitment to one person like baptism is a public commitment to Christ❤
Aka it should never be a secret that you're married or a Christian
Marriage is also legal and binding.
I agree. A public commitment that was not based on sex. I mean, how long were these people living together before they decided to become committed?. Living together is sin.
@@texasskygirl7890 i agree. And premarital sex.
Yooo Mike and Spencer Smith doing a Q&A would be epic.
Love your work Pastor Mike!
I just commented on Episode 83 (I just viewed it) because I thought you might be more likely to see it here. Also, Heidelberg Catechism Q&A 1 is absolutely beautiful!
My favorite quote from Mike for the video. “People get all weird about the marriage stuff… Just get over it!”
I feel like Christians are the most untrustworthy
Me too, same mistaken assumption.
I guess we all need to be reminded that a declaration,"I am a Christain," is meaningless without behavioral evidence that one lives as a Christian.
@@sheilasmith7779 yes, and unless we know the person well, a simple interview won’t reveal the fruits. However, maybe prayer for discernment on my part would have been helpful. 🤷🏻♀️
I wish I could take number 2 and make it shareable it's so needed by people I know
