Just a tip from an old girl if you need a length of your working yarn take a pull from the center of the skein/ball,,, i will even roll a new ball starting from my hook end, without cutting the yarn, till i get to the center take what i think i will need or roll myself a wee ball then roll the skein back up again,, 😊🌺
Im going to myself one using DK Double Knitting USA 3weight ,, mybe ill use 2 strands or whatever u have to go with hook size,, just keep trying project on to be sure its fitting you working to make sure it does, like freehanding with guidelines,, good luck 🕊️
Doesn't work, sorry to say. I followed the instructions exactly, and one side of the visor has a completely different shape as compared to the other side. If I had watched far enough to see that the solution is to cinch it together with extra yarn, I would never have started this pattern. In my case, that was simply not feasible. The side that is meant to be "fixed" also doesn't reach far enough around the head to make it work. Pity! A good few hours and a skein yarn wasted, because the raffia isn't reusable. The tutorial would also benefit from standard crochet terminology. Example: you say "crochet two loops together" when I can see you're actually doing a single crochet. Very confusing. Otherwise a good idea and the top and bottom side of the shield have a beautiful texture, which is what attracted me, but alas ...
Theremologists are quite primitive so that quite beginners can repeat and if I say “crochet two loops together” that's what it means to make a single crochet (Because that's how it gets) Do not worry and try to crochet again, many have succeeded✨ Raffia can be dissolved, steamed and crocheted again.

Vc não dá aulas traduzidas para português não?
Any other yarn options, raffia yarn is not available here.
You can try jute, maybe cotton is suitable, but if you will crochet regiline into each row of the visor✨
