You know you've watched Toni's entire Tunisian Crochet catalog when you can quote along with certain parts of even a brand new video. "The first loop on our hook counts as the first stitch, so we're gonna skip the first vertical bar" and at the end of that row, "Now you want to rotate your work towards you so you can see the front loop and the back loop of the last stitch, and make sure you get under both to help maintain a neat left edge" (Which btw, is the one thing I could never figure out before your videos, so THANK YOU!)

I totally say these things to myself 🤣 @phnxgirl

I so appreciate you using that smaller metal hook to show the front and back loop on the first row! I eventually figured out, but no other tutorial has done that. They just mention rotating the work and say to make sure to grab the front and back loops. One person even called it a "little x"? Its never been so clear

OMG! No way! Someone who does it the right way using the back bumps!

In all my glory watching your tutorials! Tunisian has been my thing for a while now, and it gets little or passing notice from most designers. I have books of Tunisian stitches but “seeing is believing”! What looks like hieroglyphs on a page becomes crystal clear in your hands. Thanks a million!

I “designed” a summer top for myself by basically knitting a tube. For over a year I’ve been trying to figure out a yoke. This beautiful stitch is it! Thank you so much for such an easy to understand tutorial. You are a great teacher!

This stitch is quite wonderful! I’m on my fourth block for May’s block (for a month-by-month Tunisian blanket by another crocheter). I look up your Tunisian blocks and add one or more for that month, ALONG with the designer’s block of the month. I now have almost 14!
I love how you start each piece and how you make sure the left side is neat, as well. I’m using three shades of gray - a dark, a medium and a light, which is used for bordering each block. They’re looking great! Thanks.

If you do the wrap between TS2tog from front to back (as with ts smock stitch) you get a better defined arrow. Thhis is the way Oana does it in her video for the Tunisian Arrow Stitch. Love your videos & am a big fan of Tunisian!

Watching and doing. Wal-Mart has Boye crochet kits for I think $15, and that's how I taught myself. It comes with a book, a couple different sized hooks, and a couple bits and bobs for crochet. You'd have to get a Tunisian hook separately, but the kit is good for the basics. If you need live instructions, I'd be happy to help!!

    • @GilraenTook

I'd agree with the watching and doing suggestion. I still struggle with reading patterns, but I learned to crochet by watching simple youtube videos and following along. I'd also offer you live instruction, but I'm still not great myself, so if you had any problems, I wouldn't be able to help :(
