    It wasn't working out relationship wise in America. I wanted a traditional woman. I am a traditional man. I was raised that way. Received my passport and started traveling. Met my wife in Santo Domingo. I'm 16 years older than my wife. We took our time and traveled back and forth. Met her family in the Dominican Republic, and she has family near me in America. Finally we married and it's been 4 years. Best decision I've made. I'm 52 in my prime physical and financially. Beautiful family. I'm blessed 🙌🏾

      @@trapbois4573 What you stated makes no sense. If someone is unemployed or underemployed in the city they were born in, should they stay in that city and accept not having any opportunities to grow? People move everyday to seek better opportunities and sometimes they win in the process. It's possible for someone to go abroad and have better relationship opportunities than they did at home. Failing to take chances and staying in a rut is the worst thing a human being can do in life.

      @@trapbois4573 The problem is less about if you can "pull" and more so who you can "pull". The USA for example is well known for having some of the biggest (heaviest) people in the world, but if you move to a country that have slimmer women then you're increasing your chances of getting someone who's more appropriately seized. Please start thinking more logically about these subjects before you start repeating this illogical statement you heard from someone else.

      I had just met a girl working at the plaza next to the resort in Puerto plata , we exchanged infos, next day, her husband left the house(i had no idea she had a husband), she can't feed her child. She can't pay her rent, her glasses are broken, indirectly asking for money. What she did not know is that The week prior I watched a video on the type of women to avoid when traveling abroad. Every single problem she had, was mentioned in the video. I later found out that her husband was in on it so I blocked her, I know better now, be careful and mindful guys.

Keeping in mind that people also don't work out most times because of personal differences and people apply that to culture or country unfortunately, because it's a easier scapegoat many times, then asking the man/women in the mirror. As for the story times, yes controversy sells and as we say in sales a bad experience will be told 10 times over for every 1 time a positive experience is told. It's psychology. While you're filing her papers, she is already making plans with someone else. The women are worth it if you take the time to immerse yourself in the relationship. Yes most are trying to get you but their are a few that actually need help. I helped some before but I met them. They never asked me for help. Money doesn't mean that much to me. Dating in the Dominican Republic is similar to dating in any other location. It's essential for individuals to refrain from dating minors, as it is inappropriate and disturbing. Additionally, not everything associated with Gittle's is necessarily valuable; it's crucial to ensure your well-being in mind, body, and soul before entering the dating scene. Many people rush into relationships without being adequately prepared, so it's important to be ready for the journey ahead.

    It is sound advice you both gave. Norberis looks for the good in people. James expect the worse and adapt according. LoL..Most men of a mature age do not want a woman of the same age. Men comes with egos as well. I agree never lead with you wallet. Yes a woman with a business or job, motivated to learning with a good sense of humor, fit, feminine is a much more attractive person. Interesting James says know where a person comes from. Apples never fall far from the tree. I also see Norberis point that sometimes the Diamond is in rough and just needs polishing. Divide by two and add 7 is a great rule. I always look at how a woman treats someone who is not as fortunate. It says a lot about who she is. Great content. One for the archives. God bless.

    First and foremost, excellent video. Im Latino and spent about 10 years exploring DR. Dated and also had a long-term relationship, which for the most part was positive, but cultural differences made it challenging at times.
    The island is very beautiful scenecally and has a lot to offer. I agree with you regarding culture. If you dont understand the culture, then there will be issues. I think you should immerse yourself in the culture as much as you can, but your Dominican partner must also be willing to embrace yours. I think that is why Norberis and yourself have such a good relationship. She spent time in the U S. and had a chance to understand how things work outside of the island.
    My issue was with the negative aspects of the culture that I experienced firsthand. The "get the gringo mindset was one of the biggest one" That feeling of prices and services being one price for you and another for the local, never sat right with me amongst other things. There is good and bad everywhere, but in order for me to cosign dating on the island 🏝 Just like you said, vetting and heading the red flags is a must! As I mentioned before there should be a mutual desire to embrace each others culture, if it will only be one sided, then its a no go. I understand folks get upset when the negatives are mentioned, but if we only paint 🌈 rainbows and ☀️ sunshine, then we are simply being disingenuous. Yes you can find love in DR, put proceed with caution and do your homework 🍷 Constructive criticism is not necessarily aleays a bad thing.

    I dated a girl in SD for a week, i left the DR after my week but we talked for three months. she asked me for money by the third month LDR. her situation was legit about her mom spending time in the hospital but i got defensive and told her no. i lost her after that. but i didnt know any better. you live and learn. its best if i find a girl and date her over there. i think it will be a lot different. dont do long distance. the reason why i didnt give her money was i thought gold diggers ask for money and a girl should love you of who you are. but i didnt know that it was an expectation because of their status and its hard for them to pay bills.

    I’ve been looking into whether or not for the past few years to head back there, not really to date, but to more or less just find that woman for me over there, and I’ll be honest, I’ll just put my two piece here.

I think the idea of having to date is to think of it like: You’re dating because you want to secure the bag with someone you know very well would be worth your time. You shouldn’t be dating if all you wanna do is just, sling yourself onto other people just because you want to, that’s not really the most sensible idea when it comes to dating. I know this very well, and I haven’t thought about dating women in years, purely because I’ve just been focused on my own life, and just making bread, but I can’t just focus on that 24/7 for the rest of my life.
    I think I would have to agree with that. Always listen to both sides of a story, and view things under a tinted lens of like “Okay what this person is telling me probably doesn’t sound like the the truth, I’m gonna go with this other person.” And listening to what people say is key. Understanding context clues of what the person said is key to understanding whether or not the person is just talking out of their ass or if they just want to say something to just let you know, to look out for you, sort of speak.
    I think in terms of age, it should really be looked at in a case to case bases. I personally am of the opinion that I don’t want to date someone above my age, because that would be dating like my mom (I’m 23 currently as of writing this.) and I don’t want to date someone that’s well above my age. The whole Social media thing is a huge turn off, but I will say that it is true, that people think of that shit as currency, when the real currency out there is to work.
    In terms of their socio economic status, if they’re like poor, like poor poor, like they don’t even have a house poor, you gotta think of it more or less as like: Yes, you can help this person out the best way you can, but there’s only so much you can do, til your like “I have other things to do that’s important.” Because some people may not even want to listen to what it is you gotta say, even when it’s beneficial to them. Like, I’m of the firm belief that financial literacy is key, and you definitely don’t see that kind of stuff be put in women now in days in the US. So the whole social media thing, and finances go hand in hand, not just in women, but in some men where, they just don’t want to work, or do shit that they’re supposed to, and you gotta find what works for you in the end of the day, and if that person just, don’t want to get some help out of you, and instead does a one night stand, leaves, then ask for some money from you when you wake up, then don’t even bother with her, just stop contacting her all together. There’s a certain point where you gotta think like, even though you’re providing for someone, you gotta think about yourself too. Some women may not even be there because they like you like that, they like your company, but not you, which case, it’s best to just forget about them.
    I think I agree with that, being selective is one huge determination on what kind of woman you want, because not every woman in the Dominican Republic is the same as the next. Women in Sosua aren’t going to be like women in Santo Domingo, and the ones in SD aren’t going to be like the ones at the camps. It’s different lifestyles, different sort of, subsects of the same culture, because they are Dominican, just not, the one you would want to be with necessarily. It’s really the area of the island you’re in.
    I do 100% agree on that. It doesn’t matter how good looking the woman is, if you’ve known her for a couple of months, and she’s like “Lets live together.” Thats where you gotta like, tell her to take a step back and let her know that you still love her, but, you can’t just take things THAT far into the relationship, you’re just taking too many steps too quickly in that case, and I’ve seen that happen to friends and family members. Don’t really have this Money > Necessities mindset, because that materialistic mindset can easily be replaced by stuff that, while it may not look as good, it can literally replace most of the shit you have on you already, and while it may not be pretty, it get’s the job done.
    I do also 100% agree. I get it that if you come from a decently wealthy background or you come from a hard working background, and you wanna find a woman over there and stuff, but if the girl comes up and is like “My parents are dying.” All you can literally do is pray, because you’re not a bank. If she sees you as $$$, then all you can really tell her is just, you hope she gets better.
    I have to agree with her on that, if someone is just consistently lying to you in front of your face, cut them off immediately. It’s like a leech, you don’t want to get a blood sucking leech on your skin when they don’t provide any benefit to you.
    I think that’s a big factor when it comes to being in love with someone from there, that you need to show effort, take your time to get to know them, and to just not rush it. Let life go the way it goes, and just, show that you’re interested. The thing that I see in myself is that, I actually am interested in learning the language, the culture, the setting, everything, to the point that I’ll even ask my mom face to face, rather than through text, of “Hey mom, in your culture, how do you say/do this.” And she’ll teach me. That’s something I genuinely appreciate because, I genuinely don’t have much to do in my spare time other than just work, and to focus on myself is all. So it’s like, I have all these books and really do want to learn Spanish, but because I got so many things to do, I’ll see if in the meantime, if I can just take it a little easier, and just, learn, and work as I go along, because I don’t want to just, go there and rush finding a girlfriend, when I may just end up treating her bad because of my own negligence, and then she dumps me because of shit I did/say, and I’m left in the dust; this has happened to me before from memory, and she has dumped me before, and I can say from several times previously, it was my fault, I learned from what I did, and say, and all that, and would rather evolve and move on from it, then bring past flame back, and just not learn from what I did. It’s better to treat a human being with the saying “Treat people the way they want to be treated.” And not “Treat people however the hell you want.” Because some people just may not like that, especially the women. If you can’t respect the women, they’re going to find it harder to respect you, when you can’t respect yourself in that sense.
    100% having a plan is a big thing when it comes to finding that certain someone, not just in RD. You just need to talk, communication is Key. Like if I find the right one, and she says she wants to head to the US, I’m 100% down to do her paperwork, it’s just she’s gotta be sure she’s gonna stay with me is all, think and thin, through and through. I got family that helped out their own spouses with that, and they’ve all but just lived their own lives as normal afterwards. So if anything, having a game plan is key.

    "Are you going to take care of me?"
    A good Dominican woman takes care of their husband. That is what a man looks for in a woman. Men visiting are looking for looks or the BBL and end up upset when they are taken for a dummy. Get to know the woman and the family. Don't go by looks alone.

      I can tell you that long distance relationships/dating do work. It may not work for you, but it works for others, such as myself. I have been dating one person a little over one year. She lives in DR. I work in the US, and travel to DR minimum six times per year. It’s only a 3 hour flight. To me it’s equivalent to visiting my family members in Pennsylvania, while I live in NYC. I have stayed out there for months at a time, working remotely, unfortunately paying a small fee for over-staying , but that’s my contribution to the government/airlines. Now I just travel back and forth, but stay two weeks at a time. I have keys to her apartment, and I just show up. She’s 13 years my junior and we have excellent communication. Yes, I speak fluent Spanish and have been fully immersed in the culture since I was 11 years old. I am 44. Long distance DOES WORK! It also worked for a good friend of mine for 3 years, and his wife now lives with him here in the US.

    I found my wife in Puerto plata. While on vacation with my mother. If you choose to date women in sosua and Boco Chica or in night clubs then that is the type of woman you will get. They are for a good time. But If you are serious about finding a wife then you will meet her in the supermarket church the mall at her job or out and about in the city or the county side. These type of women have morals and are family oriented. I'm 40 and my wife is 30 so the age gap is not too big and we have a lot in common .my advice to the older men is to stay within 15 years or so of your age..

    Good video. I agree with 99% of what you say. I am living in Juan Dolio full time. And it is difficult to meet a woman of any age that wants a relationship. I have talked to many men that think the woman here are bad. They come here and get married or have a girlfriend, return to their country and do not come back here for 6 months to a year. Then they say the woman cheated on them. First I ask if they have had any sex in their country? And then I ask how do you expect a woman to stay faithful for a year when I doubt he is. As you have said in another video the women here love sex. About age gaps. I don't necessarily age. But it must be the right woman that is mature. If she likes going to a disco most Saturday nights until 3am she will probably not be very mature. I have meet women that are mid 20"s to mid 50"s and age doesn't mean they are mature. Some women are only looking for a dollar. Only worrying about today and can not see tomorrow. When I talk to them and they ask for money after the first few conversations or dates I block them. There are good women here you simply have to go slow. And You are correct never lead with your wallet. I have been told I am a stingy man. I pay for dinners and drinks but never give anyone money who go out on a date with me. And what type of man doesn't have a plan for his life? How can he go anywhere and not know what he will want for his life in the future. Have a plan in place before you go to any country.

    Hello, what can I say about that. Opinions on this topic are always based on personal experiences, observations and, if necessary, statistics. Ultimately, matters of the heart can always be discussed controversially, while those directly involved often do not see this. Amore is supposed to make you blind. I also think that a relationship between a sixty-year-old man and a twenty-year-old chica probably doesn't have much chance of success in the long term. But I also think this doesn't just apply to the DR. Perhaps in the DR a large age difference within a relationship between a man and a woman is the least of a problem. (depending on the body type and mentality of the man 😂). The real question is why such relationships are more common in the Dominican Republic. What is the chica's intuition and what is the man's intuition for such a decision? That's where I see the problem. Furthermore, I would never claim that such a relationship cannot work and not everywhere. My aunt was married to a man who was over 30 years older than me for almost 30 years until his death. I also see a big problem in the disastrous development of many young people in the DR, especially the Chica. The ever-increasing moral decay that has been triggered by social media and its dubious offshoots in order to make money with sex and is completely contrary to the actual culture of the Dominicans. This leaves me with little hope for the future of the young chicas. The government should slowly do something about it. I don't mean bans; Framework conditions and rules should be created. Young people need to be educated in school about the many negative effects of the World Wide Web. Otherwise, in the near future, with the increase in AI tools, each of these girls risks being denounced online. In no other country in the world do so many chicas pose with their butts and present themselves in provocative poses on their social media accounts as in the Dominican Republic. If you look at this in relation to the total population of the Dominican Republic, you get this impression. Unfortunately!

    I am watching your video about this subject about Dating a Dominican republic woman and what is the problem with Foreigners, I noticed the body language of Norbis as a Dominican woman she is very uncomfortable talking the negative things or prospective that many Dominican women display to foreigners. Her husband made a very important point about their culture of Dominicanas it's very self center as a latin people with the woman's Dominican family dynamic of mental loyalty to her family over the foreign husband. They provide some very helpful tips, but the Dominican culture and her family connection is Paramount to being in a short or long-term relationship. Don't take them to the United States on a spousal visa, travel visa should be considered first. I have been with a Dominican woman for over thirteen years with two children. My background is different than most men coming to the DR

    • @NorberisR
      @NorberisR  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Unfortunately, you read my body language all wrong. My culture is what my culture is. Family is paramount here and because a foreigner may feel different about it doesn't make it wrong. Go into the relationship knowing this or don't do it. And it's not that I'm uncomfortable talking about things that some perceive as negative about my culture in relation to dating, but I try to make sure i don't offend anyone. This idea that foreigners like to play the victim when it comes to Domincian women is crazy. You have these old men coming here trying to date 20 yr old girls and/or live out these ridiculous fantasies and never did any of that where they came from. Knowing they are out their league and get mad when it goes wrong. Or come here with $1500 a month and think because you move her to your apartment with A/C this woman should be grateful as if you're doing her a favor. I've seen both these situations over and over more than I can count. So yes I am a little uncomfortable saying many of these men who think like this are delusional but people like you will never point that out instead blame Dominican women every single time when something goes wrong.

      @@NorberisR ok, Mrs Norberis I have a different experience than the one you describe as the typical foreigner blaming Dominican women as the perpetrators of their heartbreaking relationship. I am a educated, financial stable or independent retiree from the U.S. I have a different take on why you have been promoting foreign men date Dominicanas and you never address the negative mentality of the Dominican women towards foreigners. These men come to your country to meet so-called traditional minded women, but if closely study of your culture a foreigner would know these women have zero commitment to a bonafide good western ideaology /christian marriage or family. The Dominican women only see foreign men as economic stability or victims of their disfunciónal family hierarchy or latin people matriarch family structure ( the mother is the ruler in the home). I myself understand you reason for changing the negative perception about good Dominicanas women. I get it !! But the problem is your lenses are not clear glass you are avoiding the reality that these women are only in specific areas of the country, not true. The Dominican culture is extremely strategic towards offering foreigner men beauty without brains or uneducated women luring men to this island with false promises of true love or family. And on the note about the ages of the men being 55 years or older towards a less educated, less economic or financial capable, maybe independent living with the support of her family until a man come to her aid. These typical Dominican women are between 20 years old and older seeking older men for economic stability. And not just in your country all over the world. American men like your husband and myself provide more than a bed, A/C in a apt but it's way better than the average Dominican women has in her current lifestyle. Your reality is as you want the foreign men to see your sisters, your friends, your school mates in a positive view. I respect your opinion but it's not completely correct as you and your husband describe as a small percentage of women.

    • @NorberisR
      @NorberisR  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I've never promoted foreign men to date Dominican women. You have never heard me say a man should date a Dominican woman. I've never said men should come here to find a woman. I don't even like making videos like that. I've been asked thousands of times by men to help them find a Dominican woman, and I've rejected it. I have over 500 videos in my archive, and 10 are about dating here or Dominican women in general. If you call that promoting, then you have an issue with reality and just as delusional as the men I mentioned previously. Anyway, this conversation is unproductive and a waste of my time. Why you decided today to attack me over your feelings about something you perceived I said, then, bring my husband in it, I don't know. Not that I need to remind an educated, financially stable, independent retiree that you can always choose not to watch us. That's easier than commenting. Have a great day!

    I Agee with most of the video I stayed in San Domingo a month and will be in San Domingo again for the month of May. If there is smoke there is fire to many bad stories on dating in the DR something has to be true. I even have watch American Dominicans say they won't get ladies from the island. Just watch one yesterday. When I was in the DR I felt that many ladies really did not want be seen with a gringo maybe I was paranoid. I see you at very nice clubs with classy women but many of those lady don't want to be seen with a gringo. I dated a few and local guys would say to them are you dating a gringo what wrong with you or her friends say hey a Dominican won't want you if you date gringos. If you
    dating a gringo especially a black one. I dated Profesional one it was obvious to me she was hiding me not letting her friends and family know because the gringo thing would come up. Not saying all but alot. I tried talking to some on the malcon in SD on Sunday and got no play but saw her on Monday and got her Whatsapp and she even said I could not talk to you on Sunday because my family and friends were there and would of talk trash . I speak Spanish but can't dance. There are many Americans in San Domingo and they are dating same type in Sousa. The few older professionals I met had hit the wall. Dominican women hit the wall early example there many beautiful women in the DR so a professionals Dominican man has a loads of options so a 35 year old single Dominican woman has to compete against younger Dominican ladies she will lose most time like in the US so she also might have a kid or kids she knows not many local men with money will want her and her kid even though she is a professional so she will say I date me a gringo and say I don't care what family and friends say because her options are very low to get a professionals local with her kids but I be back in SD again in May for a month and puerta plata in Jun for a month I take your advice and see how it goes. I see many classey women in the clubs you show on line but no gringo meeting nobody out of there that why they don't go especially in front of locals you have a better chance at the bus stop while she alone and nobody she knows see her talking to a gringo.

      You're right when there is smoke there's fire. We are not denying that. We never said anyone was lying. But only one party gets blamed for starting that fire. We said only one side of the story get told. We also said there are red flags that many guys ignore along the way before it gets to that point. We know this because we speak to these guys directly. We aren't speaking in hypothetical. Just like we can't discount your experience you just mentioned however we know at least 10 Dominican/American couples personally, that says to us what you are saying isn't completely true. It's just your experience. My point and will always be point is there are people who have positive relationships here but all you hear about is the bad ones. Like my husband said not everyone is losing in their relationships.

    That country is amazing...Endless types of people to meet...You MUST learn the culture, people, traditions, and gender roles. My dream is to marry a girl from there..BUT....You must understand the situation is extremely different there then in the states. So you have to understand the frustration these women go through to provide for their kids. So you as a man must understand the territory that will come with dating there.
