I loved this video!! I put off doing a tumbler because I was so nervous but after your video I did it ! Will be making gifts now, Thank you for your great videos !!!
Great Job Emma. I'm still kinda new to sublimating tumblers and had never seen it done with painters tape and without shrink wrap when using convection oven and the images still came out very nice. The video is very informative as I would not have thought about the edges of the mug press not being as hot and now when or if I decide to purchase a tumbler press I will make sure the length if appropriate. Thanks again for this video.
I got the same tumbler press. It arrived two days ago but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Like you, I did some research and watched videos by the companies of their respective presses and I definitely liked the PNW better. Sometimes it's hard to tell though because the companies make everything look so easy. It's so nice to see someone real using the equipment. Also, from the videos I watched, I had no clue what they meant by target temperature and heat temperature. Thank you SO MUCH for explaining that! I am now more anxious than ever to try mine out. I just have to decide what designs I like. I have way too many favorited between Etsy, Creative Fabrica and Design Bundles. LOL Also working on my own designs. (I tend to overthink things). Again, thanks for the video!
Kimberly, have you tried your tumbler press yet? If so how do you like it? I want to get it but since I’m not a business yet trying to figure out if I can justify the cost. I would love to see a picture of your first tumbler.
@@shelleyparker2498 Yes, I have done multiple tumblers and I love this press. I'm not sure how to attach a photo on here, but trust me, you wouldn't want to see my first tumbler. LOL. Like anything else, there is a learning curve. I would recommend joining the PNW Facebook group. You will get much more input (including my post today) and I feel would help you make your decision. I hope this helps. Keep is posted if you decide to order the press.
hi emma, i enjoyed your video tumbler sublimation. ive learned a lot and hoping to learn more making sublimation tumblers. Ive started making Customized acrylic resin with glitters design with waterslide decals and vinyl but it takes a lot of time to finish eeekkk!! But when i saw the sublimation i kinda hooked with it so my husband gifted me a cricut mugpress machine in December 2021. I only used it 4-5 times and the other night it overheated and ruined the tumbler :(. Luckily I had another one left of sublimation tumbler and resublimate and did it in the oven and it worked for me for 375° for 4 minutes(simple design not full image. thank you so much for all your tips in this video. Will definitely check out the links in your description on this video.
@@EmmasCottage plus I love the tumblers! I have a coffee mug press but not a tumbler press…. I do have a small convention oven … I will have to test it out!

I absolutely love your tutorials. You are so much fun to watch and so very helpful! How long are you letting your printed design dry before sublimating?
❤Nice video. You might want to pre-emptively put all your tape pieces along the side of the table so you don't have to turn the tape dispenser every time. Just my thoughts, but the tape dispenser is great. ❤
Interested in using Cricut Mug Press. Blanks would need to be a diameter between 3.2 and 3.4 inches. The maximum height that you can sublimate is 4.72 inches. Blanks will need to have straight sides in the area where you are putting the design. It would be possible to sublimate half and then turn it over and sublimate the other half. It would be interesting to see how a design would need to be created to do a tall straight tumbler in the Cricut Mug Press.

@Emma’s Cottage I’m getting ready to order the tumbler press. Do you know of anyone that has an affiliation with PNW? It is so expensive but after watching this video you did I really think it is the best way to go. I’ve been using an air fryer and tired of the shrink wrap sticking to the mugs or tumblers. I have the same oven from Oster french door and find it very difficult to get the temp at 365. I have 2 thermometers in the oven. When the dial is set to 350 on turbo convection, the internal temp is around 400-450. Any tips on setting the temperature at 365 or 375?Also, how do you know when the oven is done heating up?
Sounds like something is wrong with your oven. If your dial is set at 350 the internal temp should be 350 not higher. Your oven needs to be able to vent to release the hot air, do you have it in an area where all sides can vent? Mine has vents on both sides, back and top. I know when its pre-heated because I set a thermometer inside and as soon as it reaches the temp, I'm good to go.
I absolutely love your videos! I do have a question. I am assuming not all tumblers are the same. I just received a box and every one I do comes out very light. The box says it’s for sublimation and I followed the time and temperature they suggested. I’m just wondering if there is something I could try to make it better or just strip them and use vinyl on them?
I would try a few more and adjust your temperature to a little bit longer to see if that helps. If it doesn't help, then I would not purchase that particular brand again.
I had watched a few other tutorials where they turned them halfway through. However, since then, I've had a lot of recommendations to increase my temp just a bit and then not rotate them at all.

What program do you use to print these from? I download from Etsy, but my sizing is always wrong for the tumblers. Help!! Thanks in advance as always, you're so helpful!
Right now I always used Microsoft word and then resize them to fit. I have a few other tutorials where I use Microsoft to print my images, check those out.
Could you do a tutorial on printers and how you get them off the printer I'm really new to this and deciding if I want to do it. But dont know anything about printer stuff. Do you have to have a computer to have this kind of a business
Some printers are wireless and would allow you to send images from an iPad. I personally would not want to do my designs without my computer though. I used Cricut Design Space and Create software to design my images. I’m also starting to dabble in procreate.
Emma how do you remove the cross hairs of a screenshot image that you are inserting into Microsoft word. I had the same thing happen and can’t figure out or haven’t found a video to show me what I am doing wrong…
What is the model numbers of the press and the oven as well as your tumbler supplier's link? I do. not see the information. Thank you and have a blessed day!
I don't think it smells nasty, just different. Many items I press have an odor so its best practice to ensure you are working in a well ventilated area.

I believe the oven was set at 350 but I’ve been told 365 is better and no need to turn them, so I’m going to try that.
@Emma's Cottage how did it turn out? I did 390 for 6 min and it was horrible!
In this video I did 365 for 3 minutes, then turned and cooked another 3 minutes. Maybe you did yours too hot for too long?
I have only done a couple tumblers and have the same convection oven so I am learning also
You have the image selected in Design Space. Click anywhere else on the screen to unselect the image, then take the screenshot.
What type of heat press for the tumblers?
I purchased my press from PNW Blanks. You can find their page on my Linktree. linktr.ee/emmascottagediy
What is the model numbers of the press and the oven as well as your tumbler supplier's link? I do. not see the information. Thank you and have a blessed day!
All the products I use are listed in the description of the video. I just double checked and they are all there.
I found you by accident and what a happy accident! You are adorable!
Thanks so much Bea!
Where do you purchase your tumblers?
Qualitysub.com
What kind of printer do you have?TIA
I have two Epson printers. The 15000 and the 2760.
I do my prints a 9.65x 8.3
Thanks for sharing!
What are special lids
I’m not sure, did I say special lids? Sorry I recorded this a few years ago, I’m not sure what you are asking.
The blue tape is painter tape?
Yes it is.
Does pressing tumblers leave a nasty smell ?? I have heard it does ..
I don't think it smells nasty, just different. Many items I press have an odor so its best practice to ensure you are working in a well ventilated area.
Wait, so the painter's tape won't catch on fire? I thought that's why we use the heat tape. I'm so confused.
I think it melts next to a heat press but in the oven it doesn’t. Who would’ve thought?!?
What temp. Is the oven at
365 degrees
What temperature was the oven on?
I believe the oven was set at 350 but I’ve been told 365 is better and no need to turn them, so I’m going to try that.
@@EmmasCottage I had mine at 400 and totally scorched my tumbler at 6 minutes. Talk about stink!!
Why dont you use shriek wrap
Because I don’t need to. It’s a personal preference.
