That blouse looks really flattering on you - makes you glow. I’m struggling with colors - I feel like pastels look terrible on me, but they seem to flatter a lot of people with blonde hair, blue eyes (dark eyebrows naturally all my life). I seriously don’t know if I’m warm or cool undertone because none of the tests give me a clear picture (I love silver but I can’t even tell what my veins are) - I do know things like mustard and other really warm colors look terrible on me, but I’m usually put in a slightly yellow toned foundation (to even out redness). When you help people pick colors what do you focus on? Colors that blend with their skin and hair, or brighter? Would you have work that top when your hair was much cooler? Why did you change it? I ask because I need to buy some new things for spring (and work) and I always gravitate to black, navy blue, and stripes. I love brighter clear pinks too - lately I feel I need more blush when I wear black 👎 probably a sign to wear less. I used to buy a lot of burgundy but it does nothing for me now, at all. The things I don’t wear are mainly because of the color - I’m pretty boring as far as outfit ideas - my ultimate comfort outfit to feel put together on the weekend would be boyfriend jeans, striped top, black flats or Converse - it just feels like me. I don’t wear dresses even in the summer and feel uncomfortable in shorter shorts - I just turned 50 (not frumpy yet) but feel a little frumpy with long shorts. This is a million directions but how do you know immediately if something is a “no”? Personality, or coloring? Thanks!
First off, be careful what you read online. Anyone that mentions vein colour has ZERO idea what they are talking about in terms of colour analysis. Colour theory is very different from colour analysis. For my top, yes, I would totally have worn it when I had silver hair! The yellow is in my palette. However, the silver hair was not (which is why I looked washed), but I was experimenting with my hair colour for fun as it's always been the same butter blonde my whole life. I was happy to return to it. It's best to invest in having your colours done so that you can learn what harmonizes with your skin tone best. You want colours that compliment your undertone, value and intensity of colouring. xo
I love your outfits but could you do something for mums on the run? It’s impossible to wear silk or a blazer /heels with a baby... and hard to repurpose part of your wardrobe when you’re caring for a baby....
The baggy pants add too many pounds and look sloppy. The slim look is infinately more flattering and sexy. Why are they trying to foist them off on us?
