For example you are using processed wood, instead of real wood. Processed wood contains a lot of chemicals, including formaldehyde which causes cancer and many other illnesses. You are using some metals but what are these metals? Are they safe to contact the food? Actually I searched a DIY coffee grinder on youtube, because most coffee grinders that are sold everywhere were either expensive or they were using unhealthy metals or plastic.
I think it is safe, the metal will not mix with the ground coffee. however, this tool cannot be used for a long time, considering the material is not very durable for a long time
