Awesome video! I'd like to build some systainer storage using this system and either the sys AZ drawers or sysrails. My question is: with only a single sheet of 18mm ply for the center panel in between and with the plunge depth for the LR32 holes to hold the drawers or rails, will i have a problem if i try to install drawers/rails on both sides of the center panel at the same height? Will the screws supporting those drawers/rails butt into each other and prevent one another from going all the way in? If so, is the solution to vertically stagger those holes a bit on either side of the center divider so they don't conflict?

I would not build a sys az or sys rail cabinet with a center divider ...I would build it like this th-cam.com/video/Qev_HBb9tWc/w-d-xo.html

@@sedgetool thanks so much for the reply. I've watched that systainer storage video probably a half dozen times by now and really like the build. question: when building multiple of those sys drawer cabinets, do you do anything to join them together at their sides, or just count on them staying close together by mounting their backs to the wall?

Great video and very timely. I’m getting ready to build a mitre saw station with built in systainer storage in my shop using the knock down system. One question, I have on one occasion on one hole, drilled with the collared bit and gone through to the veneer. Is there something I have done incorrectly? The other holes were perfect. Sedge it was good to meet and talk with you at Mueller’s. Merry Christmas fellas!

Sedge, what tool did you use to remove connector by prying upwards on notch?

Sedge and Big D, as always a great instructional video of the basic usage of the Domino Connector system! motivational and it does help!
Would you consider doing s comprehensive video on different strategies when doing a regular-sized cabinet that one would face in a traditional kitchen? Meaning, not a conversational cabinet, but rather one that uses 5 dominos... 3 dominos (8mm * 40) tight and loose and 2 connectors (both required to be tight) and the complexity that marking these out involves (not to say in the real world, but respectfully saying.. like in the real world). Do you recommend the 1st reference is always right, should that be a connector or domino? If a connector, since this has to be tight anyway, the second a domino loses, 3rd a domino?? I'm guessing (loose) 4th domino or connector and finally the 5th at the rear... should this be a connector or domino? Let's assume the first and last are connectors and the 3 in the middle are loose. How are you simplifying the markings so that one of the panels is all at PD of 15 and the 2nd panel has variations of 25 & 28 both at tight and loose settings? Are you stopping the machine to adjust the depth, while leaving the machine on to change from setting 1 to setting 2? Shutting it off in between because of safety? Are u using the adjustable arm stops that connect to the domino so that you can have accurate placement of the mortises slots that the tight connectors require? ... heads start to spin at this point, I'm sure you agree.... thus... demonstrating on size of cabinet where this does not come into play is much easier.
Do you make all of the tight settings first, then come back and remake the tight cuts a large size into loose settings? There are a few strategies to make the system more efficient. For one, is 5 dominos (2 connectors & 3 dominos too much?) Should there only be 4. 2 connectors and 2 dominos? It can get tricky when you set your domino wings to a dimension only for it to be thrown off because some slots are on a loose setting and some are on a tight one.
These seem mind-blowing to read; however, when one has used the connector system for a while there isn't any way one would not benefit from a comprehensive training video from the highly skilled instructors that you are. I'm not aware of a "supplemental" instructional video out there on the connector system. One that addresses the additional factors one faces in using this system in its entirety for normal-sized cabinets.
May I express my interest in such a video to be produced by you and your talented crew the connector system is fantastic.... not to mention I believe the elements are stainless steel, thus can be used on exterior projects.
Merry Christmas to you and your crew; you are the most valuable part of the Festool system!
