  • Here's a very nice,DIY super compact 40W+ Crank Generator and 12V power supply that I made from a very nice 220V / 3HP / Permanent Magnet DC Motor that I picked up at a local "Goodwill" store. This crank generator unit can supply up to 100 Watts when connected to a stationary bike using a chain & sprocket. Besides solar, and wind, this is the closest you'll get to DIY "Free Energy". Enjoy the video!

    An old treadmill motor will work. Those motors are permanent magnet types. The shaft on the treadmill motor has a 1/2-13 LH thread and you can tap a jaw coupling to fit on it or a pulley.

      Great project ! I've been wanting to do something like this for a while. I just found a voltage regulator on ebay for $12.99 that maintains 12 volts from 48 volts. They were used in golf carts.

    • @electronicsNmore
      @electronicsNmore  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was on sale for much less not too long ago. I just ordered what's shown below. up to 36V input, 10A fully adjustable regulated output, and you can use it as a regulator, battery charger, or LED driver. Also include an LCD display. The best part of it, you can easily replace components if needed. I paid $11.15 shipped.

    Hello, did you ever try it with a bicycle? I was looking to see if I could have something like this generating 7-9 amps an hour (for an hour) for a 12V system, although several people argued the amperage would be very low (maybe 1-2 amps), or requiring excessive amounts of effort that could not be sustained more than 5-10 minutes, thanks.

    I don't quite get what you mean loss, using a bridge rectifier, when it produces 1.25 volts RMS. That looks like a gain to me as a full wave device.

    • @electronicsNmore
      @electronicsNmore  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a voltage drop across a diode. Schottky diodes have a much lower voltage loss.
