THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU ! Didn’t expect it to work, but my locking button is working again ! Sprayed, pressed a few times, sprayed some more and pressed at the bottom of the button, and all of a sudden life returned 🎉
True. Innovations used to debut in S-class. Certain safety features debuted in W213 E-class and then made it to w222 S class. Maybe they were “testing” it? :)
Great video and tip! So simple but it seems to be so effective, never would think of that! I repaired mine but basically at the first wash it started going crazy. I'm going to replace mine and try your tip! Thanks :)
I kept replacing them until I started doing this. I keep one of this cans in my trunk and spray occasionally when I remember. It helps. I hope it helps to preserve your keyless too. How did you repair? I tried opening it up and fixing and it looked ugly :) Also, if you’re from the US feel free to participate in the giveaway.
@@AccentOnCars I really hope too! I removed all the circuit and made "my own one", basically everything replaced, switches and wires (resistors are often reusable). The problem is the fact that it's almost impossible to isolate it really well, even if you can isolate it from water, condensation will certainly get inside :/ Unfortunately I'm not! :( I'm from Europe, Portugal :)
Hi, thanks for the tip! You forgot to mention that the keyless entry should be fixed first, then use the silicone spray to prevent water from getting in 😂🙌🙌
Hehe! Could you make a video how to dismantle and fix the dead sensors, please? I found the cracks in the rubber which let water in, but i guess something inside burnt or a cable died. This would be fantastic! Thanks!
I took mine to 4-5 electronic repair shop and they all refused. I tried to open it up myself. There is no way you can open it up without destroying the look of it. It’s not designed to be opened. There is a TH-cam video on how to fix it, but the outcome will not look as nice as new.
I have a keyless go card on my cl and that has stoped working do you think that water going in that handle switch can not make it recognise? To the car
Are you saying the car won’t recognize the key to start it up? If yes, then the door handle should not affect whether the car identifies the key or not. That could be more antenna related.
@@AccentOnCars The card used to open the doors and start the car but recently the card has stoped showing a light and it says chip card not recognised Where is the atena?
Hello. Could you please help me? Today I've replaced the driver door handle on my 2006 cls55 w219 and now if I push the knob on the door handle the door pops to open. Instead of closing the central lock. And if I push the long button behind it close the central lock insted pop the door. Let's say the Open and close function switched? Mechanically it sems like works perfectly. Before I replace it, it was worked in the right way. The only reason why i replace the door hanndle was because small knob stop working. How I can fix it myself? Thank you.
Replacing the sensor is very hard because it’s very hard to open up the shell without ruining it. You can replace the door handle and it’s somewhat easy. You will need to remove the door panel and undo two screws. I did it on mine.
@@AccentOnCars Thank you. Please can I also ask if you have come across the following problems. Radio not available but everything else e.g. SatNav is working fine. Boot handsfree opening suddenly stopped working but you can open it with the key. Thanks.
Sorry to hear. Unfortunately, I can’t know what is the problem without scanning. Your problems are electrical. Try forums. Maybe someone have had exact same problems.
hi, so what to replace after they failed? all of them has been failed on my 2003 mercedes e500 7 years ago, but lock and unlock using the remote still fine, That's why it wasn't a problem for me that should be fixed right away, but now when I intended to fix them I've scanned the vehicle and my scanner shows that i has bad control module's on all four doors and I don't trust it because everything on the doors works except the keyless-go, Any suggestion will be appreciated
Hi. The control unit error might indeed be false, but I am not sure whether faulty handles trigger any codes or not. You can inspect all handles visually. If there are minor cracks around the plastic on the front or on the back then chances are they’re faulty. I’d replace one handle and see if it works. But I read MB doesn’t sell painted handles anymore.
@@AccentOnCars thanks for the reply, I don't see any cracks on them but the thing is this happened after I've left the car in the backyard for 5 years straight without drove it due to air suspension problems and the silliest thing was that I left it under all weather conditions without cover, I live in Michigan we get very cold weather and a lot of snow in winter and extreme hot in summer. I've noticed even some sunburn spots that have exposed to the sun the most and some of the windows rubber seals has become brittle
If the switches are gone bad you’ll have to replace the whole handle. The push button can also be replaced, but I’d scan to find if there are any other issues with it.
That’s correct. I realized I could be misunderstood when I said 2007. But I was specifically talking about E63. MB was and is an innovative company. If you like the content I hope you can subscribe to support the channel if not already. Thanks.
Hi, it’s hard to say without scanning it. It could be that the door handles have gone out (very common issue), it could be the keys or smth else. Can you start the car keyless?
@@AccentOnCars Hello. Yes I can start the car just fine by putting the key in and turning the ignition. The lock and unlock features also work just fine. I have a friend that has a scanner, I;ll ask him and see what it shows. Thank you so much. Be safe.

Mine has failed already on driver door after 1 month of ownership. What does the dealer charge to fix this?
If you’re in the States then about $500. You can buy the part (make sure color matches) for about $250 and replace yourself.
