My wife and I will be buying a business by December and it's all because of you Codie. Thank you so much! I'm not sure if it's possible, but I'd love to know what the takeover process looks like once you buy a business
I came across your interview on Biggerpockets and I am now your subscriber. You've mentioned about older generation retiring and selling their traditional businesses. Do you happen to have a breakdown of age demographic as to the buyers of these business? I am in my early 50's and wondering if it's kind of late to get into these boring businesses..... and thanks for putting out these vids... you are crushing it!!!🙏
Your explanation of buying businesses is so very clear. I just found your channel. I am very impressed with the way you break down complex business topics for any common person to understand. Please keep the content coming. You have made me think more about boring businesses even though I have a tech background.
Shaq was taken under the wing by Larry H Miller (a billionaire, former owner of the Utah Jazz, deceased now) who personally mentored him on how to build and buy businesses. He had a mentor that was already rich as hell. He’s said numerous times that he wouldn’t have made where he is business wise without Larry. And a lot of his larger businesses were Co- Owned by Larry H Miller while he was still alive. He still has tons of business in Utah.
I've discovered Shaq entreprenarial and academic achievement recently. I found it fascinating. Altough I love sport and he is a NBA legends, it's his approach to business that have been a subject of fascination for me recently "Boring business" He focus on what work and give money abundantly. He is also very patient, the man have complete a doctorate. Basically he focus on business that give cash flow generously wheter those business are "sexy or not" (Boring). He is very patient and he scale consistently. A Boring, well apply method.
I discovered your videos after I had just returned from Singapore and met up with a couple of self made millionaires. They all had their own businesses! I'm hoping to potentially buy a business for myself, so am absolutely loving your content Codie!
Codie thank you for great videos and a great channel. This is the TH-cam channel that I was looking for years ago. Today I just saw your video pop up on the suggestion side bar. I will be watching more of your videos. Thank you.
@𝘗𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 Codie Sanchez Hello Codie, I have a question. I saw the video you made about Shaq and Magic Johnson owning Franchise business. I also saw the interview you had with Anthony Pompliano when you said you do not like Franchises. I totally agree with you on Franchises but wondering Is there a difference when Shaq and Magic doing Franchises vs if I get into a Franchise? Possibly do a video about that. Thank for great videos Codie
Can you do a video on the steps of researching a new investment opportunity. For example you see a need for a business in an area then where do you find information on starting it and legal paperwork? I think most don’t start because we don’t know how the system works.
Hey Codie! Stoked to see you answering all these questions, do you list your speaking calendar anywhere? I am in southern california and would love to go to some events you may be at. If not, can you recommend some that would be beneficial to attend this year? Thanks!
Can you please do a video on avoiding theft & fraud after buying a business. If you're not in the shop personally, the onsite managers (who barely know the new owner) could be robbing you blind and it would be hard to know since they are the ones reporting the sales.
It’s a lot easier to do all that when you have millions already to purchase these business. I need to see a video where it talks about an individual that’s lower to middle class, with a family and 1 income. I wanna see a video of that person becoming financially free and how that person was able to afford to purchase a boring business. It’s a lot easier when you have money and a lot harder for someone to do it when all there money is going to bills and to support their family.
I will forever be indebted to you you’ve changed my whole life I’ll continue to preach about your name for the world to hear you’ve saved me from a huge financial debt with just little investment thanks so much Mrs. Elizabeth Graham
Cody ❤ I would like to know your opinion on this. I am currently in Australia, working as a fashion designer in my field, but I’m passionate about business. Listening to videos and podcasts of this nature has been shifting my mindset more and more. My husband and I had the opportunity to purchase a well-known franchise in the cleaning industry. As you’ve mentioned in several videos, my idea is to turn that boring business into something different. My only concern is that in other videos, you’ve emphasized the importance of knowing what you’re getting into and having knowledge of it. I’ve never had any experience in this field, but I just want the chance to put my skills into practice, even though I know nothing about cleaning.
Codie, I’m new to your channel and I’m hooked! My wife and I are inspired and got the bug. This year we plan on having at least 2 businesses. I’m obsessing over studying and researching the process. Hope to be part of your team soon.
Can you talk about the early stages and requirements towards buying a business for us noobies starting from the bottom? Are you required to have good credit/assets even if you're planning seeking owner financing? Will not having good/excellent credit haunt you in the long run? Will you need to establish an LLC or incorporate...etc ahead of buying a business? (If you could elaborate on this topic I would really appreciate it as well, I have watched many videos and the differences/risks in the long run are still a bit unclear for me) and simple details regarding early stages/requirements you should take care of before thinking about buying a business, even if you already know how to operate the day to day of said operation, thanks. 🙌🙌🙌
I dig the "knowledge in a hurry" presentation style you have. You're a gifted talker. This is the only investing channel I'm into that isn't related to options and equity day trading
Yep. I totally agree with the Lindey effect. It reminds me of the old saying "the race is not given to the swift, but it is given to the one who endures."
I just found your channel, and it's really informative, and what you say about boring businesses is a fact, many of these businesses bring in more money than people think, many billionaires have their entire fortune comes from boring businesses, I am in the process of starting my first submarine sandwich shop and my plan is to build a franchise out of it, I am looking to invest the money my franchise make into boring businesses.
Hey, I'm trying hard to get out of my 9-5 so I started a couple of side hustles in real estate and online coaching. I'm super interested in acquiring other businesses. I'm worried about shiny object syndrome though. Can I still acquire other businesses with everything else I'm doing? How would you suggest organizing time?
Hey Codie, How much time you have for yourself durring the week? Like reading a novel, walk, visit friends or whatever makes you happy without making money?
As someone who is stuck in a 9-5. How do you swift yourself out of the wheel? How do you get into boring business as a small guy? When you don’t have celebrity money behind you. To run a successful fast food restaurant you need experience in it or have money to burn to learn. Both requiring time which you don’t have because you are working 9-5. How to jump over that?
What type of system does one put in place to manage and keep track of all these business especially taxes , insurance,LLCs annual update and expense for each business
This is my first attempt at a business and I’m 58 years old and I really don’t have a lot of money to invest so I was thinking of buying a vending machine for soda can you please tell me the steps to get into this without making to many mistakes, so should I buy a couple machines then find a location to put them, please help! Thank you for any advice
Hey Codie. Love your videos, thank you for what you do. Have you ever looked into a driver training school. It seems to fit the boring, simple recession proof part but maybe not the old, weak stale part. Is it imperative to fit all those areas or just some? Should be recession proof as people need to learn to drive right ?
I loved when I first found out about SHAQs franchise investments! That passive/reoccurring revenue bayyybeee. He’s a very intelligent business man 👏🏾 Great Analysis Codie 🙌🏾 PS. Magic did a great sit down video with UNINTERRUPTED and with Stanford Graduate Business School on YT, talking about his businesses. Could be fun to react to, summarize!
Codie u are a surprise box for me. There is no downside to watching u. Your teaching me ALOT with ur amazing business experience and knowledge. And ur a double threat as your super beautiful, so when u lose me and I have no idea what ur talking about, I just smile and watch ur cutie self talk and I'm still happy. Kidding aside, u are a very intelligent woman, I'm glad ur willing to give back😁
I'm currently trying to save up to a 100k (in 4-5 years time). Until then should i save aside a "laundromat fund" (to buy a laundromat) or should that be my first 100k purchase? What are your thoughts on partnering up with an established company versus starting your own company doing the same thing with slight advantage (being added service, quality control or location)? What business should i zero in, assuming i have about 20k ontop of my 3 - 6 months buffer + deductions covered?
I love Shaq, as a Basketball player and as a Bussinessman. Cool Guy if you ask Me! His an Inspiration! Thanks for Sharing this video! By the way Miss Codie, does your courses in your website also applicable to anywhere in the world? Let's say in Canada, I could be planning to acquire boring businesses that are up for sale? Thanks so much Miss Codie! Will always follow your channel! Cheers!
This was seriously good food for thought, Codie. Thank you for the dose of inspiration! I do wonder though how to apply this thinking in my 'village'/ tiny town in Europe >-< it sometimes feels like all these 'obvious' opportunities are taken. But I don't want to be negative!! I'm going to drive around with 'open(-er)' eyes now. I'm saving up for your business buying course, I'm pretty sure one can apply the principles to Europe, as you said to me once in an email.
Hi, I don’t think it’s a coincidence your video was in my feeds but I’m positive it was for reassurance for me to step out and start my business. Thank you for the info and inspiration.
Thank you for putting out such great content. I really enjoy your videos. I just retired from my 36 year career and am working on my "greater later plan". The family and I are doing a startup on a new gaming store business but I am already looking to my next venture. I think it should be one or several "boring businesses" with a focus on cash flow. Any tips on where to look would be appreciated!
@codie. u should do a video on this owner of Foxtrot Inn in Coldwater, KS. He runs a few businesses and finance it thru owner finance, give or take. Thank you your video but me seeming a person doing what u show on your video just hit home.
Hi Codie just happen seeing your video in the first and I love it.. Very informative and inspiring.. Thanks for that. Anyways do you also have a video about stocks and mutual fund👍
How can I find an administrator or operator to manage these buisnesses? Because there a lot of opportunities in my community. Like you said when a person get into these type of boring businesses the strategy is to make the company grow.

I love the main idea of buying boring business. My question is: how do you set up the process of finding operators? That is easily the hardest part!
Great q - we have a ton of blog posts on this like this one contrarianthinking.co/hiring-a-good-operator-is-better-than-sex/
I discovered your videos after I had just returned from Singapore and met up with a couple of self made millionaires. They all had their own businesses! I'm hoping to potentially buy a business for myself, so am absolutely loving your content Codie!
You should do a video about what you do as the manager of the operator, like the day to day stuff
Thank you, Codie! I'm new to the channel. Are there boring online businesses that we should consider buying?
