- Watch News at Ten after Rishi Sunak apologised to the infected blood scandal victims and says it is 'day of shame for British state'.
Mr Sunak said the findings of the Infected Blood Inquiry's final report should "shake our nation to its core", as he promised to pay "comprehensive compensation to those infected and those affected", adding: "Whatever it costs to deliver this scheme, we will pay it."

Incompetence is the reason I avoid using them. This happening is just yet another example. There will always be intransigent people who can't admit what to most people is very obvious. I do use private health care, I feel very sorry for people who can't. It must be awful for people who are forced to rely on such a useless system.
This and also the gender medical nonsense which will be talked about as a scandal in decades to come.
Our NHS in principle is a fantastically run system and organisation, it's just these occasional horrendous decisions made very much higher up that have proved to be calamitous.

I think to say it’s fantastically run is abit silly. How can it be fantastically run? That’s sort of like saying the northern rail train service is fantastically run… except from the odd hick up with trains being cancelled or delayed. How can something that’s fantastically run have these things happen…
Hypothetically, if war broke out, I would rather go to jail than defend this state.

I think heads should roll, the head of NHS and Govenment at the time this happened should be jailed as it occured on their watch. This will show those leaders now that what they do if its wrong or covered up when discovered they will be brought to book. Justice must not only be done but publicly be seen to be done!

I wonder how all the people who bullied others for not clapping for the NHS during lockdown feel now.
The NHS also experiments on desperate and frightened cancer patients too after purposely messing around with their treatment, lying about how much chemo they have given and thus the success of the treatment. They did it to my dad. I was his carer.
The doctors told us that they knew the trial drug would kill 1 in 200 patients and cause negative side effects like blindness and so in in others, they said that they knew the correct dose but wanted to see what the impact would be if they overdosed patients and so on.
My dad was desperate to live so he tried it against my advice. He's only survived a few months and has been dead 10 years this year.

I believe this was a hugely atrocious act of negligence. It should alert us all to the potential harms we can face at the hands of a far from fully trustworthy NHS. I lost faith in them years ago tbh.How many more blunders will wreck lives I wonder. We have just heard of poor maternity care with some deaths due to incompetence or even deliberate murder, doctors give prescriptions causing worse addiction outcomes and there was a speight of unnecessary mastectomies. I think now is the time for far more monitoring of hospitals, dismissals of uncaring staff and an end to pussy footing about cameras in all wards. My friend dismissed herself for her health declined very quickly in Boston hospital where bells do not often get answered. Fortunately strong will power is extending her quality of life at home and she knew better than to take the mind bending drugs pushed at her! She prefers a bit of pain to an early death!
Everytime one receives any type of treatment we are unbeknownstly subjects to some form of a clinical trial. In this case it was an egregious.
