- Dr Phil claims to be impartial but endorses Trump’s false claims that his felony conviction was unfair and orchestrated by Democrats.
McGraw didn’t just lob softballs, but offered statements of support, reinforcing the former president’s claims that the whole process was rigged. McGraw agreed with Trump that, given the setting in liberal New York and the actions of the judge, the burden of proof ultimately was not on the prosecution, but on the former president to prove himself innocent.

What strikes me about this is the 180 degree turn Phil makes from everything he claimed to be about on his show. It was always about getting guests to own their issues: addiction, spousal abuse, child neglect, tantrums, behaviors that endangered others, etc. But he can’t bring that Dr Phil to bear on all the issues Trump needs to own. Is he really approving of J6? Does Phil believe the Big Lie? He always called his guests on playing the victim, yet with Trump he endorses it. What an embarrassing sham of a human being.
