Thank you for all the valuable information. Once I separated my red rainbows from the Ikolas they colored up. Now they’re thriving, with a single colony.
Thank you Ben, great info ! ... i have 6 Tropheus Duboisi ... all are thriving and just beginning to change color, very interesting to watch. Thanks for sharing
@MikeSmith-ub5xy the Duboisi are the easiest tropheus to keep and breed. They're colors are so interesting and different from juveniles to adults. Great pick Mike!
Great looking set up behind you and everyone seems to be getting along ok... This is the first video I've seen of yours and now I'm going to see what else you have!
If you have 2 tropheus colony in the same tank, one of the colony will be dominant. This might make the the 2nd colony coloration more dull. The other thing is that most tropheus species will crossbreed. That being said, tropheus duboisi species don't usually crossbreed with tropheus moorii species but there's still always a chance. To be more successful with 2 tropheus colony in the same tank, the aquarium should be bigger than 4'. Ok I got carried away explaining to much again. But here's your answer. The maswa are duboisi and the red cheeks are moorii so yes it should work.
@Norseman2 you always going to get one colony more dominant than the other one. But the tank would look great. They're low chance of hybrids fry but they're always some chance.
@@BenAfricanCichlidsthanks man …I MIGHT give it a try. I don’t plan to sell juvies but man do I hate looking at hybrids (and then when you show your tank to someone not in the hobby they love the hybrids 🤦🏻♂️😄)
except Epalzeorhynchus frenatus and clown loach i dont know any other tank mates. also cant be bristle nose pleco if they are big or you can have little ones but tropheus must be babies also.

Sweet! I'm glad this worked out good for you. How big are your colony?

Your welcome!
Great information thanks for sharing ✌️👍💗💯
Wow Thank you for your knowledge i think im switching from mbuna to tropheus .
One of my females is finally holding again. I can't wait to have fry.
I like having a huge colony and seeing how they interact together.
What is the best tank mate for tropheus maswa within the same tropheus species. Should I go along with red cheeks. Any advice?

what would you say about Tropheus Ikola Kaiser and Tropheus Moorii Kasanga as tank mates in a 125 gallon?

@Norseman2 yes people that don't know about fish always love hybrid and glow fish.
