My current boss runs two Cougar380 shank type no-till Horsch drills. These look like basically a way to double disk without a conventional or something?
Technically it's still a single opener disc drill, which we have had success with in the john deere drills. We really like the smaller horsch avatars so we could get the spacing down to the 6.5" width. Stay tuned, we are trying to see if we can get our hands on one....
If I was looking for a drill to seed grass I would look at the smaller 6 meter(20 feet) Avatar SD Horsch. It has six and a half inch spacing, two rows so you can plant two different crops at different depths in alternate rows and wheels on the back for better weight transfer.
We are dreaming the same dream, they did not have the 8m Avatar at the show for us to film, but we actually in the works of having the 8m machine quoted. Stay tuned!
