This game scared me as a kid. Years later it has become my favorite game and looks so realistic now. It isn't as scary.

I remember the first time that a watched the game trailer in this demo and did understand that was just a short version of the game and not the whole thing . I did spent a lot of time trying to unlock something in demo version to continue playing in the map , because i did thought that if i somehow survive in the final of the first colossus fight , i would be able to explore the other places of the map, lol . I tried a lot of methods to not be cathed by the shadows that enter in Wander body , and even tried to make the colossus die close to the cliff because i did think that i would survive if i jump form there . I was just a kid trying my best to still playing the demo version not even knowing that it was just a demonstration .

Once upon a time when I was 9 years old and my older bro was 11 in 2005, we winded up getting Jampack Vol 13 (which included the demo) as a surprise gift from our parents.
We played through the demo disc throughout the weeks, planning what games to grab. When we got to Shadow of the Colossus... we were stumped on how to play it. We just fiddled around in the castle and tried to make Wander land into the little pond. Our next-door neighbor would visit and see us playing this and we started joking around what the horse was thinking as well as the gal laying in the temple.
Oh, those were quite the times of childhood for me right there.

I was looking for the original demo and I’ve found it. I got this CD from a PlayStation magazine my dad bought me from a Chapters book store. I would always want one anytime we visited there because I knew they came with demos and played my fair share (he had no idea there were some M rated games on those, blood and horror😂) The graphics were insane back then, truly amazing for its time. You just had to be there. I was 7 years old and this demo was sort of scary but the ambience alone was immersive and all I remember doing was running the horse all around the landscape exploring and climbing the giant but never being able to kill it. Crazy looking back how games have evolved. This truly pushed boundaries for its time and is another Sony masterpiece

Se puede decir que es uno de los remakes mas espectaculares y el mas honesto de todos claro pero hubiera sido chido que hubieran añadido los 8 colosos descartados en ese remake de 2018 la única esperanza es que saquen un DLC sorpresa en 2025 por el vigésimo aniversario de Shadow of the Colossus con los 8 colosos descartados pero solo son teorías locas mías no me hagan caso.

@@VDL Perfect, thanks. For the longest time, I never played the full game - only this demo, over and over again. So it’s nice to return to that feeling of mystery not knowing what was in store. That video at the end there captures it perfectly.

This is just a demo. Malus was the last colossus, so why would they put him in the demo?

I had that demo disc when I was a young kid and never even knew I was playing shadow of the colossus, and upon trying to figure out what game it was years later I was in denial about it being SotC because I thought “surely I’d remember that” but really all I remembered was the very bright sky with a contrasted dark ground riding a horse everywhere and my horse falling and dying a few times, oh and it feeling like a very lonely game
