Ball and Doom mains have this thing called Triple-H. It’s the gaurenteeable team comp they’ll run if you pick one of those heroes. Hacked, hooked, hinder.
I'm starting to think the entire game just counters us. Maybe it's just being a ball main, but it feels like there's an infinite variety of triple CC comps in every game. We play against ashe for two minutes, then get forced to swap. Not counter swap, because it's not like we can swap and dive a Cass. We just get nuked a little less.

One thing I’ll also point out is that… Although every Doom guide says “slam, block, punch out” Zbra and many other Dooms recommend “punch in, slam out” especially with the changes in OW2, it’s just better to Spam out, ZBRA claims it’s because Slam is more reliable as a disengage.
That can be useful for sure! If they are all clumped up you probably want to slam in still (if you don’t have charged punch) But if you use slam as a disengage you can more easily get to a safe high ground ect. The punch also tend to get stuck more often even if you jump right away
I think this doom is at a really good starting point. They have the mechanics down which is the hard part of doom. What they need to work on is the fundamentals. This doom rarely slam cycled which is one of the best ways to fight against counters. Not only is slam cycling good against counters. It helps build ult and stall the point which is one of dooms greatest strengths. Very few characters can hold a point/corner hostage like doom. Slam in get a couple of shots try and bait cooldowns punch out. Doom is all about picking and choosing battles that’s why he’s highly mobile, but this doom is just taking every fight regardless of what’s happening. Slow down doom is not about playing fast it’s about waiting to strike.
That aswell as his target priority with his primary’s being solely on the Orisa when he could get more value shooting one of the lower up squishies especially when she’s in fortify
The reason there people counter swap more in qp is, because a counter swap is the way of least resistance, so casual players do it because its less exhausting to do that and tryhards do it because theyre tryhards. Its basically the most efficient way to play the game.

People who play a variety of heroes instead of being a onetrick, might not be as good playing singular heroes, but thats still a way to play the game. In a game with a variety of playable characters, who all have unique abilities counter swapping will always be a viable strategy, you cant nerf it, because it is game design. Usually with a few exceptions getting counter swapped shouldnt be a problem, most of the time its the lack of teamplay which makes counter swapping strong, because team mates dont negate your vulnerabilities.

Notes: Hold space and barely charge a punch if just for movement, cancel seismic midair if only for movement or cancel seismic into block for extra height depending on if you just wanna get in place for a surprise attack on next team fight OR to get away in niche scenarios. Look for big clusters of enemies to tap with punch just to build shields, then seismic out; a seismic out of certain engagements just works better depending on the map architecture and if I remember correctly punching in builds higher Ult charge depending on group sizes. If want to maximize damage output with a punch look for engagements that surprise the enemy, and if you wanna be extra sneaky I think there is a voice line that cancels out the grunting. Umm, I would say to maximize blocks make them focus you first but have a CD to get out without wasting a punch unless your team hard engages with you. Most of this is muscle memory, BUT the true way to maximize Doomfist is being proficient with his hand-cannon. Oh and Ult to get away unless you know you can get away with it, like during a team fight. Side Note: Stick with the team if the enemy has counters like Sombra, or work with team mates to organize a dive. But most importantly have fun and don't tilt lol.

Three get rich quick tip for Doom: 1. You almost never want to use both slam and punch while engaging as your left with no escape tool( this is most of the reasons he died). Try punch in > go for elim > slam out. 2. You need to punch around cover. Everytime you sit there and charge your punch in front of the enemy team your basically asking them to cc you and dump damage into you. So instead come around a corner while charging so they have less time to react to you. (This is also part of punching in) 3. You have to be able to recognize when your feeding. If you realize that every time you engage your already at half health, you need to change your way of approach. Flank with empowered punch, move to an off angle so the enemy team has two places to look, Avoid the tank completely and harass the back line. Stuff like that.
Honestly if the whole enemy team is worried about you and counterpicking. Just hold high ground on them. Make yourself seen, maybe land a bunch, then use your slam up to high ground and pop some shots, make the team turn around and watch you so your team can start making plays. And once they take their eyes off you, start punching again

Honestly this is refreshing to see my doom play style is very similar to this player and I see the over commitment problems in mine as well. playing the character well but having bad positioning is killing me kinda holding me back
Considering they swapped instantly, you’d thing this guy would change his playstyle instantly but he kept doing the same “punchslam, block, punch” combo. Which is the easiest way to get cc’d and die instantly with doing ~120 dmg total.
I know this vid is showcasing counters to Doomfist but I don’t care what anyone says, Kiriko is Doomfist’s #1 hard counter over any Som/Ana. Doomfist whiffing his cooldowns due to a skillfully timed suzu from a cracked Kiri will force 100% of the doomfist playerbase to switch idc. Whiffing Meteor strike/Seismic Slam means you literally get zero overhealth and worse, zero enemies get hit by the slow effect. Not to mention she can bait the fck out of Doomfist better than a Sombra can since, again, Suzu. Also, not to mention Doomfist has a face and unfortunately Kiriko only requires 4 kunais to put Doomfist in a bodybag in spawn. A Doomfist getting hacked and immediately dying 10/10 means bad positioning period. There is no counterplay for Suzu/Kitsune Rush, you simply throw if you stay Doomfist into Kiri. AtleastSombra and Orisa are easy targets to kite if you’re tracking cooldowns/ults. Overcommit one time, and you just fisted yourself off the map for whiffing a punch on a stationary Bastion getting Suzu’d. Getting hard countered by Orisa/Sombra/Ana seem managable even solo. A Kiriko hard countering you means you can’t play the game whatsoever.

sombra hack shouldve been nerfed/reworked to where it doesn't affect non-electronic components abilities. In short terms, should not be able to cancel like cass flash because its literally nothing to be hacked
I want to play Doomfist competently so bad but its so hard to learn in Quick Play because I get counterpicked by Sombra in the first match. In competitive I get it but holy shit it is so hard to learn when you spend the entire game hacked.
For gold, not a bad doom. He should definitely practice some more doom techs and learn how to bait out CC. It’s clear an enemy team like this is only out to 1v5 Doomfist but that only creates an opportunity for your team to pick them apart as they focus all of their CC on you.
I had a game where they went Orisa casidy sombra ana and sombra IN A QUICKPLAY MATCH. Like, why? Ranked is understandable if they pull a zbra and become a 1 man army but to someone just playing casually is demonic behavior
I’d suggest just watching people like Zbra, I’ve learned everything I know just by observing high level players, and slowly implementing their techs and slowly increasing my sensitivity
I don't know why people request vod reviews from people who don't specialize/not knowing all that much about the hero you play. Emongg only says general advice instead of being specific. What i would say is the doomfist doesn't understand soft and hard engaging and when to hard engage + a lack of basic doom tech like punch bounces and stair slams + using ult for the sake of ulting and not using it for repositioning or just saving yourself + cooldown management is subpar as he often uses both slam and punch to accomplish nothing and uses both for movement when all you need is a punch and jump and finally sometimes blocks nothing so he has to learn when to block.
As a doom main the dooms team is diffing the enemy team to the max. This doom needs to realize your not beating an equal skill orisa go for supports and dps.
one game i was getting counter swapped by the tank AS A SUPPORT. Off the bat this dude was targeting me as ball (i know ball goes for supports mainly but he was basically only going for me) so obviously i swapped cause the game was basically unplayable, then the moment i swap they swap to counter me. so i swap again, and they swap too 😭and they were only counter swapping me like am i that big of a threat?? im not even that good at the game

He could have just switched to dva and dived the Ana. That would have forced either cassidy or orisa to peel, which then your dfs could shoot them in the back, and then they're dead.

I've been doing that cycling with venture, it works so well

In OW1 Room was the only DPS I couldn't play. In OW2, Doom is the only tank I can't play. Lol

Honestly this is refreshing to see my doom play style is very similar to this player and I see the over commitment problems in mine as well. playing the character well but having bad positioning is killing me kinda holding me back

Considering they swapped instantly, you’d thing this guy would change his playstyle instantly but he kept doing the same “punchslam, block, punch” combo. Which is the easiest way to get cc’d and die instantly with doing ~120 dmg total.
I know this vid is showcasing counters to Doomfist but I don’t care what anyone says, Kiriko is Doomfist’s #1 hard counter over any Som/Ana. Doomfist whiffing his cooldowns due to a skillfully timed suzu from a cracked Kiri will force 100% of the doomfist playerbase to switch idc. Whiffing Meteor strike/Seismic Slam means you literally get zero overhealth and worse, zero enemies get hit by the slow effect. Not to mention she can bait the fck out of Doomfist better than a Sombra can since, again, Suzu. Also, not to mention Doomfist has a face and unfortunately Kiriko only requires 4 kunais to put Doomfist in a bodybag in spawn.
A Doomfist getting hacked and immediately dying 10/10 means bad positioning period. There is no counterplay for Suzu/Kitsune Rush, you simply throw if you stay Doomfist into Kiri. AtleastSombra and Orisa are easy targets to kite if you’re tracking cooldowns/ults. Overcommit one time, and you just fisted yourself off the map for whiffing a punch on a stationary Bastion getting Suzu’d. Getting hard countered by Orisa/Sombra/Ana seem managable even solo. A Kiriko hard countering you means you can’t play the game whatsoever.

Oh that's just the doom classic right there I believe the devs as a joke made it to where there's like a 10% chance you can phase through people when you punch especially if you're punching them in chokes and there's literally no way for them to dodge somehow you still go right through

sombra hack shouldve been nerfed/reworked to where it doesn't affect non-electronic components abilities. In short terms, should not be able to cancel like cass flash because its literally nothing to be hacked

I want to play Doomfist competently so bad but its so hard to learn in Quick Play because I get counterpicked by Sombra in the first match. In competitive I get it but holy shit it is so hard to learn when you spend the entire game hacked.
For gold, not a bad doom. He should definitely practice some more doom techs and learn how to bait out CC. It’s clear an enemy team like this is only out to 1v5 Doomfist but that only creates an opportunity for your team to pick them apart as they focus all of their CC on you.
Doom needs sustainment buffs. Also he need and actual reload so he can have constant pressure.
This is every Doom game tbh. I’m surprised they didn’t go Ana/Zen or Brig.

I had a game where they went Orisa casidy sombra ana and sombra IN A QUICKPLAY MATCH. Like, why? Ranked is understandable if they pull a zbra and become a 1 man army but to someone just playing casually is demonic behavior

I’d suggest just watching people like Zbra, I’ve learned everything I know just by observing high level players, and slowly implementing their techs and slowly increasing my sensitivity

I don't know why people request vod reviews from people who don't specialize/not knowing all that much about the hero you play. Emongg only says general advice instead of being specific. What i would say is the doomfist doesn't understand soft and hard engaging and when to hard engage + a lack of basic doom tech like punch bounces and stair slams + using ult for the sake of ulting and not using it for repositioning or just saving yourself + cooldown management is subpar as he often uses both slam and punch to accomplish nothing and uses both for movement when all you need is a punch and jump and finally sometimes blocks nothing so he has to learn when to block.
I mean, he probably knows more than the submitter does.

As a doom main the dooms team is diffing the enemy team to the max. This doom needs to realize your not beating an equal skill orisa go for supports and dps.

one game i was getting counter swapped by the tank AS A SUPPORT. Off the bat this dude was targeting me as ball (i know ball goes for supports mainly but he was basically only going for me) so obviously i swapped cause the game was basically unplayable, then the moment i swap they swap to counter me. so i swap again, and they swap too 😭and they were only counter swapping me like am i that big of a threat?? im not even that good at the game

The chatter's obsession with counter swapping, lol. If you want to play the role of a "Flex" player then swap to enable the doom. Go full dive! Why is the tank expected to swap? Btw I am a Tracer/Zen 1 trick. I love the fact that these "Flex" players always expect others to swap. Until & unless you are a top 500 player, you can go by not "Flexing". Learn the game or just shut up.
I play a mean Widow too but my Tracer is god tier for the rank I am in. If I am against the hardest poke comp I swap to her but if someone in chat says Tracer swap, you bet I ain't swapping off. I am confident enough in my Tracer that I'll gain that SR back. Stop shit talking & focus on your gameplay.

this guy was dookie at doomfist im the same rank, he focuses way to much on the enemy tank and used multiple empowered punches on the tank when he could got 1-2 easy picks

He could have just switched to dva and dived the Ana. That would have forced either cassidy or orisa to peel, which then your dfs could shoot them in the back, and then they're dead.
